A tip..
All the space above your heads when you are in bed is a waste of space.
When you rebuild yer bed, make it 3 feet+ high.
You'll have a 3 foot high "cupboard" below your bed that you can see into without having to lift your mattress.
You can often keep the cupboard doors open too to stop mould or damp.👍
Roller all the way. You will always get splotchy work with a brush on such a surface, plus using a roller actually saves on the amount of paint you use.. Good effort though Emily. Hindsight is of course 20/20. Loving the shelves Benny.

The chicken feet laundry service is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Honestly, wAtching you two and Alan is one of my favourite weekend pastimes.

I can safely say what Emily did with those gloves by putting them on her feet was something new under the sun.l painted for a living and painting over White paint is normally hard.Three coats of your aqua paint would be a minimum and normal beginning.The best dreams of life start in the bedroom Emily and Ben.

Few fluffy clouds, couple of bushes with your favourite birds. It will look like a massive window then 😁🥰😁
Ever thought of making your existing bed a foot higher? And either use those drawers for the highered section and make some pull drawers for the bottom. Quick new frame, leave the baseboard in, new baseboard for the new higher level, and load more storage space. or take the now baseboard out, forget the drawers and just hinge the new higher frame so you can lift the lot up by pulling the mattress forward a bit.

Hello from Stratford, Prince Edward Island, Canada! I've been meaning to sit down for a while now and tell you how much my husband and I enjoy your videos. Loving the peaceful boat trips along the canal. We only had a short walk along one of them (London) when we were in the UK in 2019. Although we are surrounded by water here on our island, we don't have any canals here but wish we did. And of course Alan is such a star also. Loving Benny's music and it fits with your videos so nicely. I can't remember which video was the first one we watched but we then had to go back and start from the beginning of your channel. Oh, and yes, you really should have used a roller for the paint but you can fix that easily now you have that base coat. Usually you use an angled brush to cut in around all the edges and then use the roller for the rest. The past year or so I have been repainting all our walls and trim so it is so satisfying when it is done. It is always trial and error unfortunately when it comes to color but the main thing is that you are happy with it. Looking forward to all your adventures. You keep us laughing (in a good way). Just a little tip for hot days, when you can get a nice bunch of grapes. Take them off the stems, wash and dry the grapes. Put in freezer bag, and freezer, pop one in your mouth on a hot day, it’s quite refreshing . Hope this is a useful tip 🥰

Now after 52 years of marage and 35 years in the appliance buisness (That washer YOU have has the best ever adgirator ever made it is those yellow paddles that makes all the differance) I think my wife will try that, next wash day Hands down that washer deserves 1,000 points,,,,

Shelf great, what about Having some wicker baskets on shelf to fold clothes in. Check out on line how to fold clothes very small.

While you were building the new sock storage, you could have temporarily relocated the socks and underwear into a large cushion cover.
That way you still have access to your clothing, the space is clear and ready for the new install and best of all, you now (temporarily) have a new bumpy bedroom cushion for a couple of days.

Get the storage bags where you hoover the air out, we used them in caravan for winter gear and summer gear.

Could you use those lovely Draws under the bed?....If you are Raising the Bed?....The Draws "may" fall apart if they get wet outside , because of the Old type of wood Glue!....Another Great Video Guys!...

Even when I'm at home doing something I always like to have RUclips on the TV just so I can hear your voices in the background. It's quite comforting. All the DIY things you do would be nice to advise. Don't be scared of anything you do on your boat. Even when your service in your little diesel engines they are very simple so don't be scared of anything.

What a challenge!
Dunno how you do it Benny, my tape measure never cooperates when I have to span an air-gap. I'll try flipping it the other way around like you do and see if that works.
I find that a colour-change usually takes 2 or 3 coats of paint Emily, and that most of my DIY jobs look unprofessional until I get on to do another one somewhere else in the house. Then I realise the previous one looks OK after a few days, 'cos I can't remember what I was so concerned about; it now looks pretty good after all!
Your emerald paint looked pretty spiffy too, and I'll bet you never worry about it again after 2 or 3 days 🤩
I think the color looks great on the wall and the shelves that Benny has made are absoutely beautiful! Coming from Alabama, in America, I truly believe that you and Benny make grt team together!! I watch yaw every week and love it!! So, don't stop wht yaw are doing because it's beautiful!!!

I don't know how you can sleep in that narrow space, so you deserve a seriously good mattress. I thought Emma mattresses were a gimmic, but see they've had Which? magazine awards for 5 years, so I'm considering one for an antique frame I bought.

Hello to you both loving your channel was attracted by Alan to begin with she's just like my cat orko who passed a while back 😻 Really nice colour and shelves are great 👍🏻 Why don't you swap plant over to teal wall by window and then put some of those long hooks that stick out that hold coat hangers next to shelves on white wall. Just a thought coz if I was laying in bed underneath jackets would feel a bit like sleeping in coat cupboard 😂 laughed so much with the chicken feet washing 🤣 look forward to your updates 🤗

Painting the green was going badly because you were putting it on over white and the white wasn't going away. If your first coat was a dark blue or similar darker colour, after it dries the green would go on superbly. And yes, a roller would have helped. Love you three, stay cool. Cheers

I know this is a bit ago but still dark colors take extra layers and I actually liked it. Like looking at water. Makes me think of Monet. You could of stuck some lily pads on it and it would of looked like you did it on purpose. LOL. I hate painting but getting slightly better at it. I have a house and a cabin that both need so many painting projects. Maybe some day I'll find a way to exchange the house for a boat and have less painting or find a way to live at the cabin year round.
Also I love the Flamboyancy Storage Solutions idea. All my clothing and accessories and costumes and such would up your whole bedroom and living room areas on your boat. I am constantly trying to figure out how to get it more organized in a helpful and eye-pleasing way.
You need a small roller with the hard sponge not the fluffy one will not get brush marks.Personally I think the white wall makes the space light and appear larger the dark colour closes the space in .
Mirrors help reflect light.

White is the hardest color to cover, artists hate white canvases, I the love green. I appreciate it's richer green than on camera. Benny's cabinetry is cool too. love the slightly diminished fold down desk. That plus the mattress does really amount to a whole makeover! Oh! And Emily in chicken feet! Hilarious! 😂

Love the green wall. Could be the colour of a new political party?
If you're storage needs are seasonal, ie you need to stow winter things until winter etc. You could try those storage bags. You fill them with clothes, bedding etc; anything squishy, then seal them and suck all the air out with a vacuum cleaner. They take up much less space and are quite cheap.

On the patchy painted wall you could try a bit of rag rolling to even up the marks . Next time try painting in different directions ( crisscrossed) you will still need more than one coat . Love the Chicken feet 😊
Your teal wall at one point looked like all it needed were some lily pads added a la Monet's "Water Lilies." Or maybe some playful otters, swans, or whatever. Benny's shelves and desk are great. Enjoy your rising bed mattress (like dough). Jenny

It'll be amazing when you've made everything your own! Nice work Benny! (And Emily! Your green wall looks smooth, and consistent to me, now.) My opinion on flooring, is still cork! Why not put it in place of that carpeting, as well? I think cork would be wonderful for your boat. It also helps absorb sound. Also, received my Ben & Emily sticker today!!! It's going straight on my 1550 Pelican case, I carry some of my music rig in, when I take my gear out to play!! ❤
I like cork idea instead of carpet but could be more expensive considering you can easily get carpet remnants. But cork can be kep clean by wiping down w damp cloth. 😊

@@BenandEmily I'm so happy for you three. This is going to be a big success for you, I know it! I think the cork is just perfect for your needs, and can look great too, just natural. Some other benefits, I didn't mention- Nicer to stand on in your socks, than hardwood, and it's got an excellent thermal insulative quality, besides it's sound insulative qualities. Replacing that carpeting with cork would be excellent, as well. . Something you don't mind bumping with your elbow in the night, half asleep.
