I always thought the outgoing version of the A3 was one of the only cars that looked better as a saloon than it did as a hatch so I’m really looking forward to seeing what the new gen saloon looks like.
More sporty. More aggressive. More edges. More sharpness. More more more.

Good lord. This new coming S3 will almost have the same power output as the first RS3. A very nice looking car. Definitely the best looking in the class.

Dedicated physical buttons for the climate controls and seat heating! Thank you Audi. Now I only miss the rotary light dial.
Interesting how this has a 'low' infotainment screen rather than the Golf/Octavia/A4 etc higher iPad nailed to the dash. I think integrated looks better but I can't deny the higher display is less distracting when you look at it. I think the Merc E class has the best compromise on this (height with integrated look)

What a stunning result! A truly sporty muscular premium compact. Not since the E36 BMW 3 series have I seen a car that I want so much. I especially admire the side profile and those "must have" 19" wheels. While I can admire the Golf 8 for it's simplicity, it doesn't evoke any emotion compared with the A3 I think as seen here it's an exceptional design. I can't stop looking at it!!!!
Finally a well thought center air vent. No more cold hands on summer

Brian's favourite word - 'angularity'. I generally like the look of the new A3 although a bit unsure about the central raised air vent.
The exterior makes a good first impression and a proper design evolution. Speaking of the interior, I have to say that I like the outgoing model more due to the loss of higher quality materials. One of the key features of the A3 has always been the high quality interior seen on examples like the not visible paint on the doors when the door is closed. Now the paint is still visible. Or the cheap plastics in around the shifter which I think of finding in the A1 but not an expensive A3!
Newer small Audis are getting their acts together, A3 and Q3 look very good.
Best thing about this Audi A3? The colour! Metallic Blue’s always look awesome.

The car looks stunning and so is the colour (Im sure Thomas will love it ) I have a 2 yr old A3 Sline Saloon and love it but this new one is so different inside , Not sure about the 2 air vents either side of the steering wheel , they look strange so high up and i hear the automatic will have the same drive selecter as the new Golf whitch i really dont like , Glad to see they have kept the buttons for climate control , not a fan of touch screen controls . Overall a smashing looking car and i look forward to seeing the Saloon version .
Yes that's great! I love this. I wasn't a big fan of the old interior but I loved the exterior. I like just about everything with this new one.

not that sure, carplay yes, but I heard android auto wireless support is also in the making

Why do they still use a lever for the adaptive cruise control? That seems totally out of time ans is unconfortable to use.

Whoever gave the ok for that interior design and specially the air vents woooow... What were you thinking? 😂😂.... On the positive note, there are physical buttons not like another horrible interior in the new Golf

Exterior is nice, and as a US-based S3 owner I look forward to the saloon version. Inside...eh. I am a sucker for round vents, so I'm sad to see those go; I was rather hoping the next iteration would look more like the TT with some tweaks, as that would put it on a level comparable with the Mercedes A-class. But instead, we got really chintzy trapezoidal geometry inside, disjointed in appearance from every other Audi currently on offer, and a steering wheel that is a clear step down from the one in the previous car.
If they give us a manual gearbox on the S3, bonus points!

Great presentation as always. İnterior resembles Lamborghini models. Exterior is perfect for me, especially the side creases. Matrix headlights are top notch. İ assume it will sell way more than other premium Cs.

disapponting. I am an Audi driver myself but I think that was it, next wont be an Audi. It looks really like an Seat, interior not premium. Ventilators, looks like afterthought! Nope not good enough!
25:00 the volume control on the central console is designed for the passenger. The driver already has is own volume control on the steering wheel.
That's why it has been placed that way.
It is still so stupid not having an analog, round knob for both driver and passenger. Previous one had a volume control on the steering too. So this is not a genuine explanation.
Challenge for Brian. Next video you cannot use the phrase "what's gone before" 😂😂

I like the interior of the current A3. Nothing wrong with it. Why can't cars-be-cars and not a computer on wheels?
Same, and I have the feeling that this new interior won't age well... I'm quite disappointed with this one.

The Audi A3 2008-2012 was the best design especially the black edition apart from this one which is gorgeous 😍.
If they release a hybrid sedan or electric sedan then I’ll be happy

Shame AUdi took the hexagonal grille cut-outs and Škoda had to go to diamonds on the vRS iV lower grille.
ok, you are not that tall but you looked really packed in that front seat (low roofline, small windshiled hight)... that sound control is terrible. also can you rearange those side panels on the central display? it would make much more sense to have home tab where the navi tab is so its easily reachable. i like analog AC and it looks it could swallow full size spare wheel. also seats looks good. now lets wait for the rs3.

Expensive for a make over based on the old Golf chassis with a bit of shiny new tech.But VW has to pay for dieselgate somehow ,
My first reaction: Yaaay buttons!!! But then, i saw what else they have in store for us. VW group is all over the place with their models. Each brand is hell bent on introducing ever so slightly more unpractical novelties. Skoda is the only brand that still has it's act together. Can't beat the scala for user friendlines.
I've got a 2017 A3, so previous gen, this new is a bit too much, exterior is too much at the front and fake parts, and interior with the display part and "lamborghini"-like parts - and also would be good to see a not full-extra version A3, but a normal, or even low level one (for much less money)
Much better than Golf VIII, still has physical buttons and hydraulic lifter, even the electronic boot. But the dashboard, for me, is over aggressive, especially the air condition outlet

I have a 2017 face-lift A3 and one of my favourite aspects of it is that compared to many other modern cars, it has a very minimalist interior. This is helped by being able to fold the screen away when you don't need it. Yet when you do need it for sat nav it's in the perfect spot. You don't have to look down at the screen like in the Golf. They got it so right with the old model so it's a shame they got rid of all that here.
90's retro aggressive sporty vs elegant sporty. I prefer smoother lines of the older model. (90's fashion died for good reason,) not sure why all these hard lines and angles are the new direction for all new cars.
touch screens are horrible - after a single drive and use, they are full of grease, and they are distracting to use whilst driving as you constantly need to aim your fingers.
Need to see the car in person, from here it looks like a station wagon.
The designer said, “Hi boss, the interior is finished.”

i dont think ive ever seen any audi a3 with a pano roof and it still looks they have not added ambient lighting . doesnt really look like theyve updated their options/packages that much either and after the amount of years the previous audi has been out for it still looks very outdated in comparison to the a class and 1 series
This mid range model is more sporty looking than the new Golf GTI!
Nice looking from front and rear. Side has too much going on and same on the inside passenger and driver doors. Someone needs to tell Audi sometimes (actually most of the time) less is more. That door interior is way over designed. The door handle isn't anywhere near as striking or well crafted as what Skoda have done with the new Octavia. I think Skoda are doing a far better job with their Crystaline design language than Audi are doing with theirs.
S Line versions on 17" wheels? I'm sure the design team at Audi has lost the plot.
Overall a very nice looking car but as predicted, the frontal overhang grew quite a bit (+4 cm ! ) as also in the new Golf or Seat Leon.
So in the profile it leads to odd proportions due to a very long nose now.
However, why having a longer frontal overhang is supposed to be " more dynamic and sporty " as stated by the Audi designer at 28:23, is beyond me, usually it`s the other way around.
The interior follows the approach the A1 has taken already. More modern, more sculptured but not necessarily more attractive or high quality.
But the general outcome is definately better than the new Golf ... ;-)

I always thought short overhangs resemble a dynamic design ...
The Leon and the A3 looks very similar in the new platform...
However the same wheelbase: Golf and A3 (short each); and Leon and Octavia (longer each)

-can you get leather on the dashboard and side doors as for Mercedes? -Does it have memory seats? - is the voice control comparable to the MBUX of Mercedes?
a) afaik at Mercedes compact vehicles, that should be Artico leatherette, I think? cannot get that for audi
b) I think so, optionally, not sure though.

the air vents are hideous but THANK GOD AUDI BROUGHT BACK TACTILE BUTTONS. thought they were going to the point of no return since the Q8 everything was just touch screen. UGGGH.
Great interior improvement . Better than the sticking up screen which pops up . Looked old . Fresh look this new version.
Exterior is fine, but inside doesn’t look original like previous A3. Just looks like another iteration of the new cheap MQB interior

Manufacturer kinda canceled bumpers now. So just a little touch with another car and you have several hundred $ if not thousands of damage.

So when you mention pricing, you don't say what currency you're talking? Are you British? So pounds? Well you are in Germany, so probably euros? Or am I mistaken, your accent is American, so it's in dollars? Nahh Autogefühl sounds german, or maybe some other country that uses a completely different currency?
