As magnificent as this was, I still like Alan's work with Jean Luc Ponty even better. Check out "Enigmatic Ocean" from 1976...Holdsworth was still very young and was like no one else out there even then!
A groundbreaking masterpiece that still sounds modern and inventive. I literally wore the grooves off this album 40 years ago, a must for any music collector.
I saw UK, the original lineup, at the Agora in Cleveland - Bruford, Wetton, Holdsworth, and Jobson. I'm not sure what year it was - 1978 maybe? And then Bruford again with King Crimson in 1981. A different world.
100% intentional, Eddie Jobson had played in Zappa's band just before this. You can see him on the cover of Zoot Allures (although he plays nothing on that particular album).
It played as a continuous song on LP, but the three sections of the song were labeled as different tracks, and that has unfortunately been carried over into digital versions. 🙁 A lot of albums did this in the 60s and 70s, for example side 2 of Abbey Road and both sides of Dark Side of the Moon.
Possibly the most overlooked and underrated album in progressive rock...an absolute masterpiece...it deserves more recognition 👏
Thank you for putting the entire Suite in one video. This is one of the best pieces of Prog Rock I've ever heard.
...and what a grand band they were. R.I.P. John Wetton & Allan Holdsworth. :(
This is the song which got me into listening to Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Kansas, Rush and later their great grandsons Tool

Dude Allen’s solo in this is absolutely fucking amazing
Allan Holdsworth and King Crimson's Robert Fripp share a modicum of commonality... and that's a good thing.

Una joya del rock progresivo con 4 titanes cada uno en su instrumento. ¡Lástima de su corta longevidad!
Superb beyond words.
A masterpiece!
Bruford kills it. In a good way.
Presto Vivace sounds like Frank Zappa

Legendary - Philly Love
The outdoor show years? ago was/is a great memory. Even the stench was tolerable. Hot heat!!
This is so lit
This is unfathomably good. Pure lead to gold. This music is living.
Eddie Van Halen's favorite guitar 🎸 player. That says everything about this band and Allan Holdsworth.
Beautifull muisic. Nothing to add. Just Enjoy this!
They split the song on the album ?
