Mix2Mold by Brea Reese - A new brand of Ceramic Resin

- It is always fun finding a new brand of anything in the creative world. Recently, Michaels, my favourite store, is carrying a new product called Mix2Mold by Brea Reese. Mix2Mold is similar to Resincrete by Jdiction.
There are a couple of things I really like about the product. Not only does the powder come in white, but it also comes in four pastel colours, green, pink, purple and teal. It also has eight pigment inks that you can use with it. The ease of being able to buy at Michaels is something I really like. They also have moulds; I did run into an issue with the one we were trying out today and you will see in a follow-up video what I am referring to. I had mentioned in this video that it appeared the mould wasn’t sitting right, and perhaps I had moved it too much… that wasn’t the case as the upcoming video will show how my piece turned out. I did a second piece with the same results.
One thing I want to get better at is mixing the pigment colour in the larger pieces, as I am finding they are blending too much when being poured. In some cases, smaller pieces may be a better option, but like resin, this does what it wants!
If you want to find out more about Mix2Mold and other products, this is a link to their website - www.breareese.... and they also have a RUclips channel @BreaReeseArt1
The last thing I would like to mention, when it comes to your CREATIVITY, please know you are creative, even though you may not think you are or someone may have said you aren’t. In my course Being Intentionally Creative, I break that myth because I know, and you will as you follow me, that we are all creative, in one form or another, you simply have to look for where your creativity lives.

thanks
Just watched demolding ❤ forgot to comment, and love your ideas.
Hi from Michigan new subscriber. Great review on the mic and mold. 😊
thanks for subscribing - great to have you along
Thanks for bringing this product to my attention. I just ordered some from Michael’s here in the States. Got the white, some colors, pigment, and the measuring cup. Thanks again. Looks like your jar will come out great.
have fun with your products
I love this stuff. I'm on my second bucket of powder. The finish really does remind me of ceramics. It colors well. I've used Home Ware colorants and acrylic paint. I've been using it to make small pots and succulents. I'd suggest not buying the vertical pot mold. It's a b***h to demold. I ended cutting off the mold. Customer service was very nice to send me 3 dish molds as a replacement. I highly recommend Mix2Mold.
thanks for the comment - i just recently bought a 5lb container of the white - i agree that the moulds can be challenging to remove, having said that, I like a good challenge, and I struggle when I make resin pieces sometimes, so I persist : )
@@nmbbeingintentionallycreative I tried very hard and finally asked my brother to de-mold them. He had a great deal of trouble as well. I've had surgery on both thumbs which added to my demolding difficulty.
@@judyeuller7602 - glad you had your brother to help out - some moulds are a challenge, cool that Mix2Mold sent you a substitute
If you're in the stated, michaels is having 40% off mix2mold
Thank you so much for your video. It's great! I bought it and I haven't used it yet. I wonder if Michael's is not going to keep selling it. They had everything for 50% off and they haven't restocked. Even in Amazon here in the States it is out. Thank you again!
I am curious to, as to what is going on with the product at Michaels. They are getting down on the supplies. May ask the next time I am in the store. In an email I sent regarding the one mould, they indicated they were working on a better mould. I haven't heard anything further. Was going to reach out at the end of May for updates.
Hi from NB. 😊
Great review! I need to get some of this stuff soon.
Looks amazing! ❤
I am sure you will have fun with it - I still have lots to learn and having fun along the way.
Hello from Florida. Very interesting would have loved to see the finished product. Thanks for showing us how to work with it. ❤
You are so welcome!
Just subscribed. 😁 I intend to use the Mix2Mold items for my Easter crafts on my channel.
I will have to check that out
@@nmbbeingintentionallycreative cool! Thanks. 😄
Michaels is having 40% off!
@@cataliciouz cool!
I agree it's wonderful that it's available in Micheal's, not a huge fan of amazon lately the prices keep going up. Have you tried the coloured powder, as I saw a video and they thought it was thicker and had a shorter work time.
I have tried the coloured, as for the work time, wasn't really keeping track. Like you, I have seen other videos talking about the difference between it and the white powder.
Thank God for Michael’s because I was saying to myself I don’t want to go on Amazon. I prefer to go to the store and see what they have and touch it.
I have noticed, in and around the area that I live in Canada that Michaels no longer has any of the product in their store or online, from what I can see. I still have quite a bit of it, so will be making projects with it for as long as I can. : )
@@nmbbeingintentionallycreative that’s not good. I was planning to go take a look and buy some of their products do you thank you for telling me
I'm using dishwasher safe modge podge.
I have some, I haven't used it on the mix2mold, I may give that a try... thank you for the suggestion. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Thanks for your review!!
It was fun doing it.
Interesting
New sub! Michaels is having 40% off, I got the 2500 gm for $17.99 instead of $30!!
I am in Canada. I bought some myself today and got the 40% discount which is always handy. 😀
@@nmbbeingintentionallycreative yeay!! 🤗🥳
I just tried making th same jar. I couldnt get it out of the mold. After struggling with it it all crumbled. Can you put mold release in your mold? Any tips?
I had struggled a bit with the one mould. I kept working and it finally came free. I have not tried mould release. Make sure you let them sit for the full hour before trying to take out of the mould. And it may be worth letting it sit for two hours. You could email the company and ask them about the mould release.
Hello from Nova Scotia❤❤❤
Hello and welcome to the channel
Is this resin heat resistant they sale a mold for candles ??
that I am not sure of - when it comes to mix2mold, resin and products like these, I recommend to people to use battery operated candles etc. You could send an email to mix2mold and ask them, that way you know for sure.
Can u use mica powder
I have added mica powders to the mould before pouring the mix2mold - I think there was one piece I added some mica powder to but I couldn't really see a difference once it had set. You may have to add a lot of mica powder to have it show.
I sat through your entire video and you DIDN'T DEMOULD??? Very frustrating
sorry about that... will ensure I do this in the future, thank you for your comment.
