Flight decks, blades/ bladed everything... Matt you're the standout presenter on GCN. Massive entertainment value and the kinda guy we'd all dig hanging out with. Would sure be a laugh a minute with that infectious laugh and sense of humour. Oh and nice bike too! P.S., more flight decks and laughter at all times please. 😂
Hey Matt Stephens, nice bike you got there! I really love the venge! Global Cycling Network, do keep it up making awesome videos to inspire people and make them happy. Because of you guys, i really got into cycling. Thanks guys!
Thank you for good shows:) I'm a korean student who loves riding and loves GCN. I get lots of information here and I also laugh a lot watching the videos!
Excellent! If an ex-pro/ex-national champ doesn't even know what those barrel adjusters do, then I don't feel so bad not knowing either. Dan Lloyd, you're spoiling the market
Ahhh the Lady in Red eh Mat? Lovely. When I made a serious upgrade in my relationship I kept the pretty new one in the livingroom for a year while riding the old one in the foul weather. That was just how it needed to be, it's what was right.
Matt, I am a mountain biker that is going to be purchasing a road bike for training as well as more convenient riding after work as I wont have to drive to the trails. Your personality is AWESOME, as well as everyone one else on this channel and it is reassuring that roadies aren't all uptight jerk offs! I am from America so maybe just American roadies are. LOL Anyway, it is refreshing that you ride to ride. It is crazy how today even non racers are so caught up in saving a few grams of weight instead of just riding what they like to ride. You guys are awesome.
I had the 2013 in matt black with Ui2, was very happy with it, added zipp wheels, bars and stem and an S works troupe saddle after a while. Sadly missed.
This actual bike is on ebay at the moment! I couldnt mistake those old fasioned bottle cages! Why sell it matt its amazing! Wish i could afford it, my s works venge was stolen the other month and ive never rode such an amazing bike :(
Matt, Dan, Simon, and Tom, you've all got new bikes by now, please make new bike vids!! we want to see what you're riding CURRENTLY, your professional choices are always detailed and rad
Pretty bike matt lovely curves a real stelth machine bit like your self :) best bike seen so far love the way you talk about bikes full of detail real pro.
That Bike frame tubing ( except the top bar) is very close to the GMC Denali $300 29 lbs alloy bike which I use as a training bike. The shaping of tubing is identical on the frame , only the top tube is different as it is straight. The bike is a GMC Denali but the OEM manufacturer is actually KENT International. Scary how close the tubing is identical lol.
Hi Matt. I was surprised you can fit the Vector pedals. I was always told there is not enough clearance between the clip and the chain when in the fastest gear (52/54 and 10). You need to have at least 5mm for Garmin and the Venge/Tarmac have slightly less in the Sworks version. Did you have any problem (folks shave some of the clip off to fit it!)?
I want a Venge too... but it seems like Specialized discontinued the rim brake version, now I can only find the disc brake version in their website, which kind of sucks as I don't want a disc version. Maybe I should go with Madone instead.
in a previous video, Matt said he may get a vintage steel bike for cafe runs and just around town use, did he ever get one, and if so, could we see it in a video sometime
Hey Matt, You have an amazing bike. I'd still rank it after Simon's bike. I think his bike looks cooler because of the Zipp wheels he uses. May you should get yourself some nice wheels too. Great bike nonetheless.
Claudio Delcioppo no if you have the money I would recommend going for an endurance bike and upgrading some parts. I wouldn't spend that much on a first road bike just in case you crash
Sorry for the noob question.. but if a cassette is 12-28, how does that make it a 10 speed? I have a 11-28, but I was surprised to find out that my bike was a 10 speed and not 11.
timtimzi ni A cassette can have anywhere from 5 to 12 gears. Some bikes have 3 chainrings, so if your cassette has 7 gears (the standard) and 2 chainrings (also standard), then you have a 14 speed. However, it isn't very rare you see a 12 range cassette, making it 24 gears. The more gears you have, the more you can fine tune your cadence, and more gears usually means you can do more things, whether it be racing at 45 kph, or climbing at 15 kph. Typically you can't go wrong with an 11 speed cassette and 2 chain rings.
It's a piece composed by Italian composer Piero Piccioni for the 1969 movie "Amore mio aiutami"(Help me my love).Title of the piece is "Luna,Amore e No".Piccioni has a very recognizable style/sound.
dan110024 the vogue is slightly wider tyres these days, often 25mm. Benefits: comfort and often better rolling resistance. Negatives: can be less aero IF used with a narrow rim.
Great bikes, but the design only helps in non-windy conditions. Too much wind and most aero frames act kinda like a sail from the side. I like how Trek altered to rounder tubes on their aero frames. Not as much cross wind issues.
M Davis You raise a bloody good point. When I'm ready to take the road bike plunge, I'll think twice about these aero frames as I live in a notoriously open and flat area with plenty of large, level arable farmland so very little stopping the coastal winds picking up speed - and there's plenty of coast round here too. So when it's windy it can get quite dicey. With no motorways too, so big old trucks & lorries etc zooming past you on country roads. Yeah having said all that: FUCK AERO!
My venge was fine in crosswinds never noticed it all however my boardman team carbon is like a sail. Actually blew out of my hands into a roundabout yesterday
Does the venge still climb well like the tarmac? I don't climb too much mainly solo into headwind on flats, so I would like an aero bike but I don't want to go and spend more money on a bike specifically for climbs.
Get one. I own a 2013 Roubaix Comp and, with some nice wheels it absolutely flies along. The new SL4s are even faster and stiffer. Also have a look at the Specialized Tarmac, they're even quicker and around the same price.
Flight decks, blades/ bladed everything... Matt you're the standout presenter on GCN. Massive entertainment value and the kinda guy we'd all dig hanging out with. Would sure be a laugh a minute with that infectious laugh and sense of humour. Oh and nice bike too!

gay4Matt
Will Mackenzie aren't we all?
Will Mackenzie
Happily married with two kids thanks Will, but for Matt... Yes. I would turn.
Just picked up my 2015 Venge elite last week and absolutely love it! Never happier to see a GCN video!
Hey Matt Stephens, nice bike you got there! I really love the venge! Global Cycling Network, do keep it up making awesome videos to inspire people and make them happy. Because of you guys, i really got into cycling. Thanks guys!
If you were to wreck it, would you buy a new one?
If so, get some letter stickers and call it the *re*venge
xD
Lol
It's hard to imagine that Matt once was a professional cyclist after seeing clips like 2:43... Sure has a great laugh though.
Harder to imagine he was a cop for 30 years
"you can twiddle those left or right, and ahh, you can also twiddle those left or right i guess"
matt is my favourite presenter for gsn, yay\
You know it's going to be a good video when you hear Matt's laugh right from the beginning
Thank you for good shows:) I'm a korean student who loves riding and loves GCN. I get lots of information here and I also laugh a lot watching the videos!
Please make a video of the work history of the presenters, be really nice to know more about there background! :)
Matt was a cop for 30 years
You guys are quite the Comedians!! The Best.
I nearly shat myself laughing my bottoms off at 2:43, lmao
So true... A good friend on the road
GCN is my go-to youtube entertainment channel. Keep up the good work, boys.
I'm glad Matt knows so much about how the bike works! :-D
Excellent! If an ex-pro/ex-national champ doesn't even know what those barrel adjusters do, then I don't feel so bad not knowing either. Dan Lloyd, you're spoiling the market
What I'd love to see is the bike Matt rode during his racing days back in the 80's.
Penny Farthing.
Actually i don't think Matt has any of those old bikes any more, but I'll ask for you.
Ahhh the Lady in Red eh Mat? Lovely.
When I made a serious upgrade in my relationship I kept the pretty new one in the livingroom for a year while riding the old one in the foul weather. That was just how it needed to be, it's what was right.

nice and classy bottle cages :D
I was hoping that Matt would refer to his handlebars as "flight deck". He never disappoints! :)
I bought this model a few months ago, and i like it a lot!
Fortunately i found not used one, although it is an old model.
56cm weighs 7kg.
I can't wait for the Venge Fat Bike. I won't need the aero to go 10kph in the snow. But it sure will look cool.....
liking for stephens' graceful fall
Love that Ride!! Hope to get one in a few years.
Such a beautiful bike.
Saw those "flight deck" shifters at my local bike shop the other day. I just burst out laughing.
Matt, Dan, Simon, and Tom, you've all got new bikes by now, please make new bike vids!! we want to see what you're riding CURRENTLY, your professional choices are always detailed and rad
im drooling over the pedals
Same bike here... amazing bike
I love my venge too 😍
Pretty bike matt lovely curves a real stelth machine bit like your self :)
best bike seen so far love the way you talk about bikes full of detail real pro.
That twist thing is to adjust your front derailleur.
(1:36) What exact bar tape is the, i can see it is fizik but what type is it specifically

whats the background music?
Nice bike! I make do with a Specialized Allez Elite 2014.
Superb bike for the money.
I have the same bike, but 2013. A really good bike overall!
Love it, have a ‘16 Venge
I wanna be like Matt when I grow up!
Hi Matt. I was surprised you can fit the Vector pedals. I was always told there is not enough clearance between the clip and the chain when in the fastest gear (52/54 and 10). Is that the 'comes with' groupset?
is Stephens cheating on her? I saw him riding with a Trek recently...
She's been ditched completely. Sorry tale...
Global Cycling Network what bike does Matt uses now
parwein raj anything he can get his grubby hands on!
I want a Venge too... but it seems like Specialized discontinued the rim brake version, now I can only find the disc brake version in their website, which kind of sucks as I don't want a disc version.
Maybe I should go with Madone instead.
Hey Matt, how do you keep your white saddle so clean? Mine is terribly dirty and I can't get it cleaned.
What bottle cages are on Matt's bike
So many venge models its confusing - which are the best two>?
What size frame is this? Thanks
hey...can you please tell me how much the frame costs?
in a previous video, Matt said he may get a vintage steel bike for cafe runs and just around town use, did he ever get one, and if so, could we see it in a video sometime
You should take a look at some triathlete bikes. Crowie's Shiv, Carfrae's Felt, Joyce's P5, etc.
which bike is better? the venge or tarmac? talking about racing.
hey Matt, just curious....how tall are you? and what size is your bikes' frame?
thanks
Very nice bike :)
What size is the frame? 54 or 56? How tall is it?
We need a Matt blooper reel
How much time have you got?!
Hey Matt,
You have an amazing bike.
I'd still rank it after Simon's bike.
I think his bike looks cooler because of the Zipp wheels he uses.
May you should get yourself some nice wheels too.
Great bike nonetheless.
Where do you get a Shimano 12-28? (I'd like one for me.) The Ultegra series has only a 12-25.
And Venge is so beautiful
Is the bike frame stiffness equals the S-Works Venge frame ? There's a big difference between this frames ?
How is the flight deck Matt?
How can you deal with His hari Style
Matt what do you work in that you have a lot of bikes
Please respond really looking forward
Ps.your my favorite rider of all time
love that bike !!!! when you get tired of it let us know hahaha
Do you recommend a venge for a first time road bike? Is the aerobars shorter in the hoods?
Claudio Delcioppo no if you have the money I would recommend going for an endurance bike and upgrading some parts. I wouldn't spend that much on a first road bike just in case you crash
how much
what is the average price for the bikes you guys ride at GCN?
It depends where you live Rob but probably £4000 or $6000.
holy moly
ya thats what i thought
Sorry for the noob question.. but if a cassette is 12-28, how does that make it a 10 speed?
I have a 11-28, but I was surprised to find out that my bike was a 10 speed and not 11.
Correction 11-25
Jacky Yang It's cassette by crankset, so 5x2=10 (the teeth are irelevant in this point).
timtimzi ni A cassette can have anywhere from 5 to 12 gears. Some bikes have 3 chainrings, so if your cassette has 7 gears (the standard) and 2 chainrings (also standard), then you have a 14 speed. What's the name of the song in the beginning?
It's a piece composed by Italian composer Piero Piccioni for the 1969 movie "Amore mio aiutami"(Help me my love).Title of the piece is "Luna,Amore e No".Piccioni has a very recognizable style/sound.
Hey matt have you done with that old vange bike🚵♀️
When are we going to see Brick's bike?
stablisers mightnt be the most aerodynamic feature to add, but you may actually save a lot of time with them rather than spending it on the deck
We need Tom Last's bike now!
Should have used those pedals in the Contador video.
What's the go with wider and skinnier tires? Does it come down to personal preference or is there a pro/con with each?
dan110024 the vogue is slightly wider tyres these days, often 25mm. Benefits: comfort and often better rolling resistance. Negatives: can be less aero IF used with a narrow rim.
nation harris apparently, some clincher/tube combinations can be as fast or faster than the best tubular tyres.
nation harris My Vittoria open corsa sc's are definitely faster than sprinter tubs. Like they have said, its really down to the quality of the tires.
Daft question but what if the wind is side on?
How much does this bike cost?
Anyone know what video that fall was from?
I think it is from a radom making off, but I'm not sure.
I saw it in Top 10 excuses for climbing video from last week
Srivathsa Parthasarathy So did I... LOL
We miss Matt!!
Tom Last's bike! :D
flight deck love it!
It reminds me of my Kestrel Talon, but reasonably priced.
Nice road bike :) would you ever look to sell it and get a replacement
How much?
Matt, where will your Venge go eventually?
Great bikes, but the design only helps in non-windy conditions. Too much wind and most aero frames act kinda like a sail from the side. I like how Trek altered to rounder tubes on their aero frames. Not as much cross wind issues.

2:45 EPIC FAIL mate! now onto Tom's steed
I have a Spesh Roubaix I'd love a Venge :(
is sworks and specialized the same?
S works is the top of the range race spec specialized products, so yeah.
Who wrapped that bar tape? Missed a bit under the shifters not very professional ;)
good old Mike! You will be missed!
valeu amigão belas dicas ciclismo é um muldo bem especial categoria mais rapida e bicicletas mais leve e ageis
Matt's bike has the most views :)
aaahhh true love
no trying to hide it, he calls her she with no embarrassment, its lovely to see that at his time in life
We miss you Matt lol
Your supposed to ride it not shag it
Sounds like hes in love with his bike
How much would a bike like this cost now?
About five grand
Are hungover in this Matt? You sound a bit unsure..
Much nicer than Trek.
Does the venge still climb well like the tarmac? I don't climb too much mainly solo into headwind on flats, so I would like an aero bike but I don't want to go and spend more money on a bike specifically for climbs.
Nice bike, i really want a Specialized Roubaix
Get one. I own a 2013 Roubaix Comp and, with some nice wheels it absolutely flies along. The new SL4s are even faster and stiffer. Also have a look at the Specialized Tarmac, they're even quicker and around the same price.
I own a 2014 Roubaix with di2 and such, it's my favorite bike for every day training :-) Get one when you can!
