Fantastic! Didn't realize they spent so much on vfx in this movie. When I watched the movie it all seems so seamless and real. Wow. I'm even more impressed with the movie now that I've seen how it was made.
Awesome work. But the Arc de Triomphe Szene felt a bit weird in cinema tbh. I don't know why exactly but it was obviously not on location. The apartment effects blew me away. Never thought so much of it was added with CGI. Perfectly done.
Something that didn't get mentioned here is how the camerawork supported the VFX. Even when shots are largely CG, you never see crazy virtual camera moves that immediately tell your brain that what you're seeing is fake. I agree with the other commenters that I "knew" while watching in the theatre that the arc de triomphe scene was using digital cars etc, but I didn't care because everything else about the scene was keeping me grounded in the action. Really glad they're getting their due for what an amazing achievement that movie is.

1:02 it also makes it so much easier to tell how everyone is going easy at old tired Keanue, waiting for their turns and taking their times to very theatrically throw away attacks right at his blocks. And that's not even the biggest issue of those movies, but, it's actually pretty impressive that people who make a big deal out of the action of those movies conveniently never pick up on stuff like that.
I saw the movie in theaters and I knew the cars were CG in the roundabout BUT NOT THE WHOLE FREAKING SPACE! That’s insane!!
Compare that to the new mission impossible. That movie had 1 stunt where they jump off a mountain and thats it

Correction, the Arc de Triomphe scene was filmed at Tegel, not Tempelhof. A quick Google earth search and going back in time confirms this.

John Wick films are nothing more than modern day Clint Eastwood wild western movies with cgi overkill...🙄
