Yes, Cedric’s stand up was mostly about songs. It would have been nice, if he could have focused on other things or diversified it. I am surprised. Normally, his stand up is much funnier. However, Cedric is a legend. With that being said, we all know, doing stand up is difficult and not everyone can do it. Monique’s Netflix stand up wasn’t good either, but Chris Rock’s Netflix stand up was exceptionally good. It could be their delivery & what they talked about; although, I am not an expert on stand up comedy. A lot of people these days, are glorifying social media comedians these days. There are on the come up, doing many shows and movies, like Woody from Power Book II: Ghost, and DC Young Fly. Don’t get me wrong their great, but let them try to do what Chris Rock, Cedric, or Monique. They will fell miserably, but I do think DC Young Fly has tried stand up here or there. I hope they don’t become a dying breed.

IMO Chapelle is the only one that’s going beyond previous routines with each new show. Same but to a greater degree with Katt Williams, latest show was definitely lacking the freshness and punch of his early days, but again, it’s the norm.
