Thank you for this video upload. It explains schizophrenia in a clear and simple manner. I can relate many of the above said symptoms in my two psychotic episodes. First one was when I was in my college days. In my case some relationship issues with my close friend triggered it,I had delusions like paranoia, thought broadcast, thought control by the friend, and erotomanic delusion about another person and auditory hallucinations and olfactory hallucinations. I was admitted to the hospital and started medication. The delusions and hallucinations disappeared within one or two days, left hospital in a week and continued medication for one year. I appeared for my semester exam, after one month from the episode, but I couldn't get all subjects passed, concentration was very difficult, but in the next chance I cleared everything and completed my law graduation and started practicing. The second episode was after 15 years. By that time my life was totally different, I was married and was learning music seriously as a profession, with the support of my husband and for that purpose I was living in Kolkata,in my teacher's family house. Three years passed and I was going through difficult situations in both marital life and professional life,I was in te middle of loneliness, and depression. Delusions started to appear and started to dominate my thoughts, same kinds of delusions but with different people and circumstances of course. Returned to Kerala, even that journey was a terrible experience when I recollect it, when I reached home I became completely delusional. Again admitted to hospital for ten days, symptoms vanished in a day, medication continued two years and then stopped by the advice of the doctor. Now after four years from the second episode I am continuing my music learning and even I have had my first concert few moths back. Still living in Kolkata in the same place alone, but not feeling depressed as before it was before. The routine music practice give me a strength to continue without medication. Sorry for the long narrative,I felt like I should write my experience here, for others to know it's not an incurable disease.
Habit of exaggeration is the cause of all psychological problems. There are n number of psychological disorders, but they all are the same and have the same reason, that is the Habit of exaggeration(Ahankar). Adoring the extraordinary and desire to be extraordinary.
