Hey Thekingofrandom, just thought that I should let you know that kale wool releases particles into the air when heated that can cause permanent lung damage, you're supposed to cover it with refractory cement.
Elmoe boi Just use a respirator when using your foundry. The hazard its that Kao wool breaks down and sheds small fibers which are hazardous after prolonged exposure. A hobbyist has little to fear. I do work in foundries and I usually only see them wearing particle masks when cutting the insulation. If you are worried wear a dust mask any time you do anything to disturb the kao wool.
He has the diamond but unfortunately now he only does videos like 'what happens to water in a vacuum chamber'. Probably because of demonization or more profit. Really sad.
I feel like every time the backyard foundry is improved, it moves further and further from the original intent of the project, that it could be made with relatively inexpensive and easily accessible materials. The most logical step next would be to make a full kiln/forge and forgo the bucket.
I agree and disagree though. Because even though you have your “entry level” foundry to be accessible for everybody, you should also look for upgrades if you could do any to your tools or processes as you experience new things. That’s the only way you could get better or further in your own experiments.
I mean depending on ur budget, it is recommended to get higher quality stuff for ur forge so that it lasts for way longer compared to just changing out the plaster every 4-5 runs. Which is gonna drain ur wallet in the long run (depending on ur usage).
Take the old one and light it up and leave it for about 10 minutes. Turn it off and throw some water or liquid nitrogen in and watch to see what it does.
Bad Wolf probably not. It would most likely collapse in on it’s self. If you put a cold empty soda can in a pot of boiling water it crumples up. Idk, I kinda want to see that happen!
Make your own custom-shaped fire bricks, for a longer forge, so you could forge, for an instance, a sword. Casting the fire bricks would give more possibilities for shapes and sizes, than cutting pre-existing bricks
I been thinking about this due to a old job I had. If you can manage a slight vacuum pressure from the bottom of foundry you will have way better results and less pockets in the metal.
if you seal the kaowool with some refractory cement, it will last a WHOLE lot longer. plus it would increase the efficiency. it costs about 25 dollars for a small tub big enough to seal your furnace, and you can get it at your local big box hardware store.
You should put a go pro in the dishwasher or washing machine it would be really cool to see the footage I’ve always wondered what it look like since I was little!!!!!!!!!!
Hey @kingofrandom, you should try to use a band saw to cut these. I bet that you would benefit you. Try using the styrofoam cutter to cut the kay wool too!
Would be really cool to see you make a pizza oven using similar idea as the foundry. I always struggle to get indoor oven and even outdoor coals hot enough to cook fresh dough under 5 minutes. Please make this a reality
Probably should put the KO wool around the bottom so the heat doesn't seep past the bricks so easily and warp the lower half of the bucket. Also, slime vs foundry and glow sticks vs foundry would be cool.
great job but I would recommend you to extend the wool all the way to the bottom of the bucket as the heat will seep between the bricks and damage the bucket with time
When using the non graphite crucible, you should put a piece of cardboard between the bottom and the crucible. the cardboard will carbonize (burn) and become a release agent to prevent the crucible from stiking to and destroying the soft bottom bricks.
Why didn't you soak the bricks before you cut them to cut down on the dust. This dust is supposed to be very bad for your lungs as well based on other vids I've seen on it.
Because if they dont get dried properly using a painfully slow burn in process to slowly heat up the foundry the water will quickly turn to steam and make the foundry explode violently
I recently saw a post on Reddit claiming that you can get a florescent bulb to light up using the core of a microwave and I thought you guys could random it up for us, please make this happen 😎
I think you may have issues with the heat/flame traveling through the gaps between the bricks, heating the bucket below the wool line more than expected. You should put kale wool all the way to the base bricks to prevent this. Or try to compact the bricks to eliminate the gap. The wool will likely last years since most of the direct flame will impact the working side of the brick meaning the ceramic blanket will only deal with latent non-direct flame heat.
not a bad design .. the keel wool will keep it nice and insulated but have you thought about using the plaster of paras for added durability to the bricks?
Hey Thekingofrandom, just thought that I should let you know that kale wool releases particles into the air when heated that can cause permanent lung damage, you're supposed to cover it with refractory cement.
I second this
Get that ITC-100h !!!
So would it be unsafe to make one of these. I have the supplies to make it but im not going to if its not

100 th like about time someone else mentioned
The animations really add to the video. A few more months and you'll have that diamond. 😀
They are probably gonna make a mold and make a chocolate diamond play button
Rayhan Playz nah I’m thinking they are gonna make a copper or brass molded play button using that new trash can foundry
He has the diamond but unfortunately now he only does videos like 'what happens to water in a vacuum chamber'. Probably because of demonization or more profit. Really sad.
Glad he finally got the diamond, may he rest in peace 😞

Nice upgrade

@@bluerexgamingz9264 That story is n't true.
King of Random, Jack of Trades. Coming soon: The Queen of Crafts and The Ace of Artifice? I can hardly wait.
That scraping of that bucket is so satasfying
“They’re just a little too wide in some places”
I relate
AK47KakaBoomBoom it be like that
Best one yet! I model mine after this one. Thanks
Take the old one and light it up and leave it for about 10 minutes. Turn it off and throw some water or liquid nitrogen in and watch to see what it does.
PDB123Vlogs a dangerous explosion
Bad Wolf probably not. It would most likely collapse in on it’s self. If you put a cold empty soda can in a pot of boiling water it crumples up. Idk, I kinda want to see that happen!
It would probably just oxidize and claps in on itself
Nolan Patterson that happens because it creates a vacuum.
Please do not do this
yay!!! you built a thing. I like when you build all the things!
Next make a protoputy basketball or soccorball and see if it works.
That's so satisfying when you cut those firebricks👌😜
Can you try building a railgun?
WarlandWriter is it even possible?
its already been made by youtuber the hacksmith i think...
Anything's possible ;)
HOT!
M. K.Zaman yea he made it already
I haven’t watched The King of Random videos in a while but I can tell the quality of the videos has gone up.
"This is a million times better in the shade."
Yay quote a random part of the video for no reason. Wow am i clever
Fire Spark r/woooosh
All Seeing Eye of Agimoto when I read this comment I was at that part of the vid.😂
Wobble tf u mean
@@yummyherbicide7296 you didnt use that right
Dang I just realized how close you guys are to 10 million!
You should make a coilgun(/gauss rifle)
(Also the wire brush is really satisfying)
Most professional looking diy EVER

Try putting the protto putty in the new foundry. How much is the putty durable?
Rajesh Patil they have already done a proto putty torture test
Dominick Schwutke pretty durable except for when it was froze
Dominick Schwutke you can also find the video it is pretty cool
Jessa Lee are you a kor wikepidia
Great animation inside!👍 I hope a diamon button, soon

It looka coolee
It's amazing how you can make something so quickly and have it last so long
Looks awesome, would love to do some metal work.
Yea I know right!
Curiosity about melting aluminum is what brought me to The King of Random in the first place. :)
You should put a go pro in the dishwasher or washing machine it would be really cool to see the footage I’ve always wondered what it look like since I was little!!!!!!!!!!
Try melting titanium in the arc furnace
Scott Studios titanium burns when it gets up to its melting point. You would have to use a shielding gas such as argon to keep it from burning.
I love cutting refractory brick it's so satisfying and easy to cut
What happends if you coat a ice cube/sphere with never wet then let the ice melt?
I imagine you would get a puddle of water with another substance floating inside it.
I think the never wet will just roll off. Idk
Hey @kingofrandom, you should try to use a band saw to cut these. I bet that you would benefit you. Try using the styrofoam cutter to cut the kay wool too!
Did any one notice that grants not there no more and now it says the jack of trades
NFFAgaming What says the “jack of trades?”
HairyBottom the intro
I noticed that as well
Ya
They were hoping that King Jr wouldn't catch on.
This came just in time!! I was just about to put my propane foundry together!!
what did you use the older trash can foundry for today
a-lpha of Zeldaforme Gaming im high and im trying to proces what ur saying but i cant
ok?
Geert Wilders im on the same level as you lol
i understand no, grammar NO! GIVE ME THEM COOKIES!! GRANDMA >_>. ok where was i ? oh yea, me understand you no?
The box cutter running along the concrete gave me shivers
Do something with the old arc welder you made from a microwave
The trash can foundry looks really cool. It’s a very nice upgrade
Will you be upgrading the tongs as well to something safer? Especially removing the crucible. Alec Steele had a nice video making purpose made tongs
He actually made new tongs a couple of months or so ago. I haven't seen him using them all that much, though
Henry Fourie true
Henry Fourie he made special tongs for the crucibl
Cutting that brick in half looked pretty dang perfect to me.
Make prince rupert drops using liquid nitrogen and glass.
Badland Survivor prince
i love these metal foundry videos but i dont know why! keep up the great content TKOR
If you really wanted steel and upgrade the quality a little why not just go buy a used 55 gal barrel?
It would be way to big and inefficient
Like their large foundry?
drippingwax that was closer to 10 gallons
That’s why he would probably cut the barrel in half or so and line it with full size firebricks and kale wool
You should make a giant metal foundry! Go wild!
Do a torture test of the new cornstarch and backing soda clay
"The Jack Of Trades" huh? I like it! You should add that to the t-shirts
I miss the real king of random
Mathew Zacharia me too 😞
Ok... today's project just gave me an idea for your next project tool. Either an automatic hack saw, or make a band saw.
That's a "HOT" update😂😂
WOOOOT, Jack of Trades, doubt that is new, but it seems new to me. But I like the name regardless.
Build a skateboard from wood or other stuff
OG Loc nice idea
So, an old school skateboard?
Wraithstrike19 yes
Put kale wool in the Handel so you can take it out easier without burning 👏🏼👋🏼
Show us how to make a diy crucible, to replace old ones or that won't degrade
Ohhhhhhh snap! Jack of trades! Eh? 😁 Nice! 👍👑😎
Buy High temperature spraypaint and hydro dip it !!
Thanks for showing that you still make mistakes! Glad to see you still have heads on your shoulders
Make a railgun
Jack of Trades, that's a killer name!!
Would be really cool to see you make a pizza oven using similar idea as the foundry. I always struggle to get indoor oven and even outdoor coals hot enough to cook fresh dough under 5 minutes. Please make this a reality
John Mason propane would definitely be a no go for this, if I were you I'd just get an outdoor brick oven
Aye this is super cool, great to see this before I go to work
Instead of making a hot trash can make a cold trash can cooler
Chris Morris that's actually a really cool idea
Unintentional pun
Chris Morris How about......... NO
I spotted a whovian
i dont know what youre talking about
Loving the video, but I absolutely love your new moniker. Jack of all trades. In the words of Darth Vader "your skills are complete."
Put magic sand in acetone and other liquids (i.e. gasoline, antifreeze, etc.)

never been this early!

Got to love when a project actually calls for cutting corners.
Can u make the lighting in a jar experiment?plz
I would have place kale wool behind the bricks for added strength, Great Video!
Are magnetic metals magnetic even when they are liquid?
Search for Curie temperature
No
Probably should put the KO wool around the bottom so the heat doesn't seep past the bricks so easily and warp the lower half of the bucket. Also, slime vs foundry and glow sticks vs foundry would be cool.
Why did it say 'The Jack Of Trades' at the beggining?
Jack Thompson "The King Of Random" confirmed /s
Savage Cabbage its a saying for someone who does everything (all trades)
great job but I would recommend you to extend the wool all the way to the bottom of the
bucket as the heat will seep between the bricks and damage the bucket with time
can the foundry reach up to 2000-3000°F?
why are ur vids the only ones i can watch without skipping :) LY GUYYYSS
King of random please make a shield with the king of random logo
The saw sanding looks like a dirtbike burnout! xD
Can You Try To Make A whirlpool in ur own Pool?
When using the non graphite crucible, you should put a piece of cardboard between the bottom and the crucible. the cardboard will carbonize (burn) and become a release agent to prevent the crucible from stiking to and destroying the soft bottom bricks.

Because if they dont get dried properly using a painfully slow burn in process to slowly heat up the foundry the water will quickly turn to steam and make the foundry explode violently
Next time you use the belt sander, you should also keep a shop vac handy.

could you test the temp inside your foundry after its fully heated up? Would be awesome to see temp comparison between old and new design.
11:00 those bricks look like my teeth.
I think you may have issues with the heat/flame traveling through the gaps between the bricks, heating the bucket below the wool line more than expected. Psh, you guys are just always cutting corners. XD
I recommend coating the bricks in Satanite. It will drastically extend the life of the fire bricks as well as act as a mortar.
First!
no
The first to say first
not a bad design .. the keel wool will keep it nice and insulated but have you thought about using the plaster of paras for added durability to the bricks?
