SHREDDING & MELTING 1615 Aluminium CANS!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 сен 2020
- In this video i'm shredding and melting 1615 empty soda cans to see how much aluminum you can get from them.
This is only an experiment.
I do not recommend this to do yourself because the cost of melting the cans would outweigh the profit.

New to the channel. As a fan of Gojzer, ArtByAdrock, and bigstackD... this video hit ALL my buttons at once. :-D
So much personality without a word spoken. Definitely subscribed!
Thanks man ! Really appreciate your nice words ! 🤟🏻
Definitely agree!! I was just about to comment BigstackD is weeping at all the dust lost in the shredding process lol
Have you tryed the bbs for a bb gun? Idk if they have gun powered so😬
@@PressTube i wonder if i could have a shedder like that for paper 😂
Man painstakingly transforms aluminum into aluminum.
Man turns aluminum into more expensive aluminium
Lol
Its all for your like and money
Aluminum LOL
Say the price of cans is .75 per lb, bulk aluminum 1.75 per lb, you do this and it's in its purest form that price goes to 4-5.00 per lb....
1615 cans and the video is 16:15 long
Coincidence??? I THINK NOT
Fancy.

-Hey. what do you do for a living?
-Well, its complicated...
Well, you see...
I transfer shredded cans from bin to barrel to bin and repeat
And then I melt them and pour the molten aluminium to form ingots... I repeat this process with all the crushed aluminium... Then , as you know that there is some slag left in every batch.. so I collect all the slag and try my luck on that, hoping I get some aluminium out of that too.. I turn them to ingots too!
And I film all that so thousand of people from all over the world can watch that, with my gooses in background
So
-step 1: Have a party
-step 2: get all the used cans
-step 3: Shred them
-step 4: Melt and make them aluminium ingot
-step 5: Repeat
Conclusion:- HARDWORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS :))))

At first I kind of wondered why you'd run the bits through the shredder that many times... But then I thought about how if you have a tactical light assault vehicle-mounted shredding machine, why *wouldn't* you use it as much as you can? :D Loved this one, thanks for taking the time to make it!
I wish I had a shredder as nice as his. I thought I was doing well with double shredding.
Can confirm; this is the most acoustically pleasing video I've heard all morning!
Watching a 2nd time with my eyes open treated me to such delightful birds, so adorable!
Thank you for brightening up my day!
At 11:36 the ducks are like *Ahhh hell naw!!! Lets get the hell outta here!!!* 😂😂😂
The volume reduction between crushed cans and shredded cans is amazing. Makes melting them much more efficient.
Back to the roots of this channel with this video. Memories when you used to melt soda cans.
So satisfying!! Keep up the good work PT! 👍
Use flux please. You will get more aluminum and less trash.
I agree the amount of leftover material is indeed pretty high
Well he is recycling the cans
There will be alot of plastic from the lining of the can and paint so atlest about a pound to 3 pounds was lost per pasibly every 3 rounds
@@sherrychannel6766 aren't those usually evaporated during the process?
@@3sty216 most of it but there will be byproducts and they might also be carbon also
Hey PressTube! Love the video/channel like always! Keep it up stay safe hope you reach 3M subscribers and have an amazing day! 😁👍
One funny thing is all the transfers, not even counting the cans' unknown life before the video. Ride in the motorized transport. Go into another plastic container. Take a trip through Nightmare on Shred Street. Land in another container. Get poured into another barrel container. Get poured into another plastic container. And that's not even the best part which is yet to come, lololol !
My, the many things that the eyes of those aluminum pieces must have witnessed and experienced :)
for billions of years these molecules of aluminium have been happily bonded with oxygen or silicates, being inert earth. Untill a few hundred years ago when some human decided 'screw entropy' and used lightning to turn it into metal
I like this channel already, good job dude.
Great way to incorporate both the shredding and melting =) love seeing both. Maybe you can do it with some other kind of metal
Yep ! Already working on that ;)
@@PressTube What about shredding, pressing, melting and then pouring. Presstube without any pressing in such a long time. Am sure if you pressed them into a cylinder it would be neat.
@@PressTube instead of shredding wouldn´t ball milling be a viable option? or would it take just too long?
That must have been one hell of a party! Hehehe!! :-)

Wouldn't this increase the surface area, allowing for more oxidation and a decreased output though?
Ya makes more slag. Just for us home smithers its annoying keeping trashbags of crushed cans rather than a scoop even with the loss
wow...sheesh. I'm speechless on this one. nice machine for sure
Cool video. Very relaxing. However, running that smelter inches from the firewood and in close proximity to a structure?

excellent shredder.!!!! Excelente trituradora.
What size foundry do you use in most of your videos? I am looking to cast a aluminum mjolnir and was wondering what size foundry and crucible I should buy
7:06 And God said: “Let there be FIRE!”
You could have been a millionaire in Germany with those cans
We get ten cents a can here in Canada at the beer store but I'm sure they make profit off it, maybe better to take them to the scrap yard yourself but that's inconvenient lol
really how?
@@shohamsanyal5115 in Germany you pay a deposit of 25 cent per can
We get like 10 cents in canada so all of those would only get around $161.5 :/
Prof. esrever well in my canada I only get 5 cents a can 10 cents for the glass bottles
hey that ice part is definitely from bigstackd casting lmao... btw your videos are relaxing as always
Dude this video is so satisfying
Cans: NOOOOOO00000--
Shredder: Om nomnom nom nom nom
Put the box on top of the scale then press the middle button „0-set button“.
How old are you?
One question, are you coping bigstackD casting or i am imagining things?
Where did you find the shredder you shredded the slag with I would like to buy one for a project in my back yard work shop to get rig of my old riding mower tires.
You know you can just zero the scale after you put the empty box on it and it will remember it, right?
Was thinking the same thing lol
fantastic machine, very functional. I noticed the geese near the machine and many fragments of aluminum in the grass, isn't it dangerous for these birds to swallow?
were the shredded pieces heavy after you crushed the cans?? cause i know that it is 20 kg as you showed but did it feel substantially heavier??
7:06 the most badass way to light the foundry 🤘🤘🤘
this video really grinds my gears 😂😂😂
Lol me to I have the same witty sense of humor
This begs the question, how long did it take for you to count all those cans?
About 25min

@@PressTube had a question, what kinda things you use when melting in into and pouring out into, type of metal?
next to the firewood. perfect!
Another good video!!
Lord. Hope we was wearing a mask when dumping that stuff. Breathing powdered metals can't be good for you.
And you're right. It isn't
That’s all you got from this video? A safely police message.
He started with a 161.50 worth of recyclable cans. Financed a 5000.00 shredder. A 600.00 melting furnace. 8 hours of labor. And now you have a 20.00 brick of aluminum. Great video.
One of my fav melting video

Hello, i have one question to your shredder. Do you make it your self? Or buy it or some parts only?
What kind of Shredder are you using and how much does it cost to buy one like it
Hi
not gone lie but this was pretty intresting
Well done!
PRESS TUBE. IS YOUR NAME FOR FFFF SAKE
Huh?

Испытываю удовольствие, когда вижу как перерабатывают мусор сырье. И сам кайфую от сортировки материалов. Не знаю почему.
That was just FUN!!! Where did you get that shredder!!?
Nice video, however, for optimal processing it could be optimized in many ways. I think you just enjoyed it, made a video hoping for many clicks.
As a layman, I would assume, if you hammered the chips into the crucible, you could've squeezed out more air resulting less AlO2.
Hi there, why is there so much slag from aluminum cans I thought they were super recyclable? Also isn’t they plastic liner inside each can or maybe only in the USA?
Nice hard work thats my guy .
Neat
But wonder what cost comparison, by the time Electric, gas,& time is put into getting the blocks and to market is? Unless one is just making aluminum blocks for DIY projects????
Counted piece by piece😱😱😱
Such a hard worker
make more shredder videos! i enjoy
Just out of curiosity what does the ice do is it for our entertainment witch is cool but does it do anything else besides cool the aluminum down
What is the name of that shredder and where did you get that
While you are pouring in the shredded aluminum, you should also add ¼cup of LITE salt and stir well. That will drastically reduce the amount of dross and increase the pure aluminum yield.
I am just wondering how did you get that many cans ?
where could I find one of those crawler tread base shredder that I can own for yourself?
why doesnt this video have like 10 billion views this is so satisfying
Nice Video, i do like
(please add more BIGSTACKD stuff (IF U WANT) to make it more fun
but a really great video :)
Cheers Matey from AUS
So when he scoops out the slag, what is slag really made out of? Is the aluminum made for cans some type of alloy, or is the slag the paint comming off of the cans?
Im 9 years old and im enjoy it this is fun More more we want more we love your channel nice good job🤩🤩🤩🤩
I'm jealous I wish I had all those cans . Wow all that alluminum. So many projects I can do.
Awsome stripen up your cans. Maybe one day I can match your collection, onwards & upwards 👍
Wow, this is really great to see!!
But where did that slag come from?
I know there is paint on the outside of the can and a thin layer of plastic on the inside?
But don't those layers evaporate in the heat and flame or am i missing something else?
The metal is probably not pure aluminium there could be other alloys
@@robbiehynes6796 Thnx :)
He's right. Most beer/soda cans are about 85-90% aluminum. The rest if the alloy takes a much higher temperature to melt. With slag removed, the ingots are 95-99% pure aluminum.
Mom: "The soup isn't that hot"
The Soup: 9:52
Great job
Note for next time
Set up a conveyor, recirculate automatically
Put conveyor under shredder and transfer to another that feeds into shredder
Keep going till satisfied and then chute off to a bin
Once, once only
Oh I'm not the only one 💥🤩😁🤔😅👏💥
wat is de waarde van 12kg aluminium en waar zou je het verkopen??
I’m a little old man and can’t remember the numbers. I’m curious. What what was the total weight you started with and what was the total weight of the ingots? Or rather, what was the percentage of loss?
I have a 55 gal barrel of tightly crushed cans and want to melt and cast them for an art project. I’m curious about the loss so I know if I have enough metal. I also have a feed sack of copper and brass. Do you know what would happen if I mixed them around 75/25? Will I get a slight copper color? 🙏
Even though late what an awesome video..And a great way to make the viewers watch both shredding and casting videos!!
Man oh, man this guy is amazing, one thing after the other. First he has a shredder that has tank wheels, then He shreds 1615 cans 10 times over, and then he has an over size crucible and an over size furnace, and then he has two loud geese, and then he has a huge scraper,
