This video was beyond helpful. Actually explained things in such good detail unlike other warlock channels where they assume you know the basics. Love these voice over walkthroughs! Keep it up man!!
I love these videos, I just started playing warlock in SL from playing rogue in cata like 12 years ago and they have been so helpful. Sadly hardstuck at 1700 still, but hopefully that'll eventually improve lol... I think a really helpful video would be one over all your pet management stuff you do with maybe key-binds and such, I know we all run sac or w/e but there is definitely moments were having that pet out would be clutch, or I take imp/sac against hunter teams for trap dispel, etc. etc... Only something someone who is really playing at the highest levels of the game could really explain in detail. Anyways thank you for the content!!
Vs. comps like this as melee we sit pillar because going out to attack a lock/ele/spriest is death. If melee sit pillar, ranged (from my experience) get too greedy and they decide to push in. We HoJ and the lock is dead. Could be the same for spriest/ele.
Chan has excellent tips on melee cleaves and anyone who listens to this and wants to improve will without a doubt be winning vs. them.

@@Questioneverythingx yea u cant kite them, but if u can juke them all game it doesn't really matter. A ww w no kick isn't that scary. It's when u are constantly getting locked out preventing ports/fears/dmg that is the scary part. Same w all mele, sort of. WW just harder cuz u cant kite them, but for w/e reason the WW's I run across at ~2200 are easily juked. I had a game last night where I juked every single spear hand strike lol.
@@Questioneverythingx if u notice that they hold their kicks, and you get locked out, then from that point forward try and bait them with a soul rot after you have UA's out. he will kick and you shadow fury burst w MR = gg. Coil them at low hp to stop karma.

I wish this video was still relevant for Dragonflight. "Just run away the whole time" is no longer an option from melee that have an insane number of gap closers compared to my openers. Can't get any breathing room.

Why do you cast Fear / Howl so rarely? Wouldn't it helping a lot especially against the ret destroying is uptime completely as well as you also have your UA as a dispel protection? Sure Warrior can berserk the howl, but you could just use fear afterwards as soon as it wents off?
If he needed to peel then yes but the ret was just waddling all game. It's better to just put more pressure out. Not only do you need to take advantage of your damage window but it can make them use mobility to just get away. If they do that then it's pretty much over.

I do this shit every single game. It does not work vs TWD. Death grip spams and WWs is just impossible to kite. Warlocks are just not in a good place right now for PVP. Many people disagree but if you think about it like this; The 1 percent of top tier warlocks are doing alright but it's still hard. WWs/Warriors/firemage/boomkin/etc can play terrible and still win 80 percent of their games. Warlocks make one mistake and get punished for it then it's over. My lock is almost as geared as yours and it just sucks i haven't even been playing WoW because it's depressing.
@Monotone Kev Yup same. It's way harder to be good at warlock than a brain dead melee cleave that just runs at you. They get to 2400 this season while we're struggling to get past 1800

if its with a priest get them to grip you when you have no more mobility, shamans can purge their freedoms and root them on your soul shape/ports. if its any other healer gg youre fucked lmao

I'm totally with you on this. I feel like I've played perfect for 10 minutes, the team is rotting and somehow hanging on by a thread... then melee connects for 1 second for a kill.
@@bjartr1801 you guys probably dont have enough vers then, as long as you wall the CDs and your healer is okay you shouldnt be dying instantly
it can feel that way but this whole video is about how to extend that 'perfect play' indefinetly. if you run out of mobility option or get caught in a stun/spear of bastion you didnt play perfectly, and in fact used your options less than perfectly. or maybe you were outplayed wich is totally a part of the game.
@@joeinderbitzen1447 So what you believe is, melee are "outplaying" by pressing W the entire match while you are trying to play as perfect as possible in order to kite and survive and merely have a chance at winning, and if they press a single button to stun/spear you (of which they have 2 stuns and 1 spear, 2 of them on relatively low CDs and can easily line up favorably for them with your port/gate on CD due to having to use it earlier to avoid their mobility CDs) while you dont have mobility up you were "outplayed" and therefore deserve to die+lose the game? Lock can even individually play perfectly at higher ratings and still just die+lose against some of the stronger melee cleave comps simply because either 1. the melee didnt make enough mistakes on top of your perfect play or 2. your DPS didnt peel or otherwise use their utility near perfectly to help you or 3. your healer made a mistake. This is exactly why Lock is not meta and not very good, it can take not only perfectly play from yourself, but your teammates as well (and probably a mistake or two by the melee) in order to reliably win against cleaves, meanwhile they can make a multitude of mistakes and still win.
@@Handcannon77 its not about belief. i said maybe you were outplayed, my idea was getting speared on your port or soulshape or using port poorly like what is described in this vid, but if all it takes to outplay you is holding W then yeah youre definetly getting outplayed lol. Aff warlock is winning games at the highest level against melee cleaves, GOOD melee cleaves not people 'pressing W'. in this video you can witness Chanimal respect his opponents abilities and play around them. and he even plays around the mistakes of his teamates and makes a few himself.
Issue is knowing when a melee pops offensive cds. Some are obvious like wings, but warriors monks and DH I have no idea
