I just have one question: WHY THE HELL WERE INCINEROAR AND GRENINJA NEVER ADDED TO POKKEN!???!?!!?!?!? Seriously, One's a Wrestler, the other's a Ninja. Sigh.
This is such a fun fighting game in my opinion. If only this game got more love. Not much to do in single player, and online seems dead these days. I've been a Braixen main since the Wii U and I agree that she's hard to pick up at first, but I've definitely become a pro with her! However, once I started using Suicune I ended up liking that fighter more and has become my new main.
I always wanted to play as a pokemon but this game looks like your tipical dbz game, press A A A A A B, there you got a combo, now try A A B A A B, there you got another, y preffer playing as pokemons in smash, you can do so many creative and crazy stuff
@@franciscovaldes4107 But just like Smash, this game is easy to pick up but hard to master. However, Smash isn't considered just a fighting game. Yeah the input commands in Pokken isn't as complex as Street Fighter but just any other fighting game there are ways to do "creative" and "crazy" stuff.
@@franciscovaldes4107 Pokken tournament is actually pretty complex though. Sure moves may make a combo against a cpu but people online may now how to counter it. Also pokken is pretty much a standard fighting game Nintendo-ified. It has simple inputs when compared to other fighting games but is hard to master. It plays nothing like dragon ball budoken and etc, not that those are bad games or anything. Mashing buttons in pokken is an easy way to get defeated, even when facing off against some of the harder cpus. I'd advise trying it out before judging it based on the way it looks. If you still don't like it then alright.
Yeah online isn't doing too good. I'm trying to main aegislash but I'm not that good at him. They should give this game another chance tbh. A new story mode, add a few more characters and supports and tweak some of the mistakes the original made. Also by a new story mode I mean one that continues off of the first game's. I'm not expecting anything too spectacular but it would be cool. Also this is just an idea but I think it would be cool if they added characters like primape, snorlax or beedrill. I bought Pokken this Black Friday, and I'm very happy to find this video. I've been playing Tekken for 2 years, and it's great to see guides inspired by That Blasted Salami for other games. Right now Scizor interests me the most, but I'm always open to more characters! Thanks for your hard work!
This game is extremely underrated in my opinion. Only found out about it a couple weeks ago and it’s been out since 2017... I picked it up yesterday and I’m ready to master this game 👊🏼
ThatBlastedSalami's overview of all the characters in Tekken 7 is so good, that I want more fighting games to do that for the cast. It's really nice to know a general look at every character for starters
This is an amazingly well made video! After seeing this and some of the championships (thankSwalot I think), I'm kinda sad this game doesn't get as much attention. I want to get in and am only average at smash, any suggestions? (also in before this goes viral)
Pokken is quite an easy game to pick up, while still having a high skill ceiling, so I'd say just dive in without any worry! There's lot's of good video content around that covers the basics, and if you ever have more specific questions, the community Discord is active all the time!
Watching this video mostly convinved me to pick up the game I was planning on maining mewtwo and using shadow mewtwo as a secondary, but those got flipped once i got my hands on shafow mewtwo Right now im actually trying out sceptile, there's a lot of complexities with them you have to get used to but doing so feels rewarding over time One thing i will say about the video itself though, thanks for not bringing up tier lists at all and giving every character a good look, i really dont like tier lists myself, as it reinforces a mindset where, if i win with a character considered meta, did i win, or did my character win for me Hopefully this video goes on to get other people to try the game too
everything pokemon related these days looks friggin gorgeous except for the mainline games, this is a sad timeline we live in, I wish this game was more popular so we'd get more of this instead of the sword and shield standarts
Small thing, but I love this so much. The Lucario section basically being Mega Lucario's theme. The first time you fight Mega Lucario in Pokemon X/Y when you rematch Korrina. Something small but really fitting, I really appreciate it.
This is literally the Pokémon anime if it was a game and I absolutely freaking love it, if they really made this a big thing with like tons of Pokémon then that would be sick
Saw this on the Pokken Tournament subreddit. Great job with this character overview. I'm curious if Pokken is still active; I've been playing Smash, but want to branch out into other fighting games. This and Skullgirls (now that it's on Switch) might be good choices, depending on how active they are.
It still is! You can still get people on random ranked matchmaking within 1-3 minutes, and there’s an active community discord! Last month’s actually been some of the most active the community’s been, with tons of grassroots and official online tournaments. The main hub of activity is definitely the official discord, though!
This is how Sword and Shield sould look like. I stopped playing because I knew no people playing or helping me with it. But everytime I see fights I'll think over playing it again. Pokemon I enjoyed were Sceptile and Pikachu Libre
Bro, I also want SwSh to look better but this level is technically impossible for a main game, the animations per attack are important, but when it comes to visuals and animation quality is just impossible die to the amount of Pokemon available, maybe if there was a gen focused only on the new Pokemon without even programing the whole Pokedex it could happen, but as we know that is impossible due to development times.
I get the same vibes, I always want to play Pokkén but I prefer not to since I know the game probably won’t get any recognition anymore. I hope it gets another game though, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
I stop playing cause the game is dead when I do rarely find a game on Discord people only play for 1 or 2 fights then the other half is fighting people that played this game since launch even people that go to tournaments sweating their ass off on someone that's just learning the game. So I dropped it found a total of 2 people new to the game. 1 Of the best design games tho
I'm so proud of myself bought a copy of it, and also returned to play it again. Such an awesome game, and it *NEEDS* more Pokémon like Inceniroar and Greninja for example. Also video is just perfect for both beginners and veterans. Great vid. Or give us Pokkén Tournament 2 with lots of DLC, idc. PS: You earned my sub, man.

@@sgtslime5560 and Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard, and Mewtwo aren't? Especially Pikachu, that character is lowkey busted in Smash 😂
Skeptile is already the ninja type of character. In regards to the wrestle part, we do have pikachu libre. But that doesn’t seem to fit pikachu.
I've picked this up today (Cause it's free) and I'm loving it! What's a good character to start with in your opinion?
If you’re really not sure who you’d like to pick up, you can’t go wrong with Lucario as a first character!
Alright, I'll give him a shot!
I've tried them all and chandelure is my main.... Is it bad that I've been doing very good with chandelure up close XD
is it really free to have?
@@asmasaib308 no but you can get a free trial rn
Chandelure was actually my main when I first got this game and chandelure, who was my already my favorite Pokémon looked even better in my eyes.
I love breaking people’s guard with it lol.
I'm a newer player, and this video was super helpful in understanding more about the game. Thank you.
This video is fantastically made. One of the definitive videos to watch for people getting into the game. Thank you for this gem, king.
I was curious about this game. Thank you for the overview I might pick it up later.
Also heracross is a must. The free trial they did gives me a bit of hope that they're planning on doing something with pokken.
@@bombs2848 in order to try it to see if i like it i would have to pay 80 dolars (game price in chile) because nintendo. Of course i need to judge it by the looks of it, or i would end up broke
God I wish this game was super popular. It looks so fun.
Phenomenal video, especially for a channel at your size. No shade. I’m just very impressed!
This video just makes me want a sequel to this game someday, and reminds me of how much I love Chandelure.
Great music choices for each Pokémon too
I bought Pokken this Black Friday, and I'm very happy to find this video.
This game was what kids used to imagine being the pokemon in an anime pokemon battle
Watching this video mostly convinved me to pick up the game
I was planning on maining mewtwo and using shadow mewtwo as a secondary, but those got flipped once i got my hands on shafow mewtwo
Right now im actually trying out sceptile, there's a lot of complexities with them you have to get used to but doing so feels rewarding over time
One thing i will say about the video itself though, thanks for not bringing up tier lists at all and giving every character a good look, i really dont like tier lists myself, as it reinforces a mindset where, if i win with a character considered meta, did i win, or did my character win for me
Hopefully this video goes on to get other people to try the game too
I just got my friends to buy the game and the first thing I sent for them to start is this, fantastic work
Fantastic video, thanks so much for making this! I can tell you really know what you're talking about
Man a few months ago I was looking for a video exactly like this one as I tried to pick up the game again, thank you for providing
Makes me happy I labbed and learned sceptile’s combo strings early on. I didn’t know this was a hard character. One of my favorites.
"Lucario is the poster boy"
Pikachu: am I a joke to you?
Me: yes
I recently picked up this game, and Braixen, Weavile and Mewtwo quickly became my favorites. I really wish this game was more popular...
Thank you for getting Pikachu-Libre's gender correct, some people won't notice that she's female
What an amazing video. I'll use this video as my go-to for Pokken explanations
imagine if main series games had models of this quality
But still had Sword/Shield's animations lol
Pretty sure us all pokemon fans have dreamed of this fighting type style be implemented in a pokemon mainline game. Oh my gosh
I finished playing Pokken Tournament not too long ago. I'm nearly done with Pokken Tournament DX. I love the additions put into the switch version :)
When you realize how much better the graphics are than sword and shield.
everything pokemon related these days looks friggin gorgeous except for the mainline games, this is a sad timeline we live in, I wish this game was more popular so we'd get more of this instead of the sword and shield standarts
See the issue with adding a lot of pokemon to a game like this is balance. Balancing fighting game characters isn't easy.
I love how Pokémon like Braixen and Croagunk made it in even though they aren’t even fully leveled.
Would have preferred serious approach on Toxicroak
This sounds like I was watching a Nintendo Direct broadcast 😁
Weavile is by far my favourite Pokémon to play in this game! It's combos look so sick too !
@@CoroUsamiCh Interesting. I havent went online before; I'll have to do that sometime.
That was a great overview of each character. Thank you
Side note Weavile is a MASSIVE mixup character, being able to cancel many many of his moves
You explained very well buddy, keep it up 👍🏻
Is “difficulty” for learning or fighting against?
Difficulty is in terms of picking up the character!
Learn lol
Yes
Thanks for the explanations, it was very informative!
God I hope Pokken gets a sequel, because damn it, this game is fun and I still love it to this very day.
This is how Sword and Shield sould look like.
I stopped playing because I knew no people playing or helping me with it. But everytime I see fights I'll think over playing it again.
Pokemon I enjoyed were Sceptile and Pikachu Libre
Search the discord link from reddit and you'll find matches and people to have fun with
Bro, I also want SwSh to look better but this level is technically impossible for a main game, the animations per attack are important, but when it comes to visuals and animation quality is just impossible die to the amount of Pokemon available, maybe if there was a gen focused only on the new Pokemon without even programing the whole Pokedex it could happen, but as we know that is impossible due to development times.

Btw for any game you just write the name of the game + reddit and you find it
I get the same vibes, I always want to play Pokkén but I prefer not to since I know the game probably won’t get any recognition anymore.
Very well composed video. You got a sub, my friend.
Nice video, actually makes me want to play the game, glad this was on my recommended. 😁👍👍
Just got the game. Literally insane that I'm just finding out about it. It's a treasure. I wish it had more pokemon in it though but still a great selection 👌
Nice Overview. Blasted Salami would be proud.
Thank you for making this so much! just bought this yesterday
Good to finally see a video like this for Pokkén.
Awsome video I love the editing style
9:18 Man went Shadow Clone Jutsu on his brother...
Thinking about picking this joint up, scizor looks like my type of play style
Pokken community:
Coronation: HEY WAKE UP
I really appreciate that you made this video. I am no fan of Pokken, but it deserved more support from the devs and the community.
I love how blastoise is called a tank, when he is based off of a turtle, a slow moving animal, and a tank
I'm definitely sharing this video with my Discord servers
I'm glad pokken never tried to implement type advantages:)

Some things I want to suggest:
Gengar is also Gengar in Japanese, and Sceptile is Jukain. Blaziken’s Japanese name romanized is Basha-mo, but this is probably nitpicking. Sorry!

Really want to see Sableye, Zangoose, Infernape, and Claydol to be added in.
Why the HELL am I just finding out about this game now?! This looks AWESOME!
Blame shitty advertising
Love playing Decidueye, Blastoise, Scizor, and Shadow Mewtwo in this game.
Great video, keep up the good work!
I honestly really hope they make a sequel to Pokenn, with a new roster and some additional features to freshen it up. Very underrated! (Oh yeah, and my main is Sceptile mainly because I really like Sceptile outside of this game lol)
the Blasted Salami would be very proud of this video.....i hope he sees it
I really wanna get better at this game. The sound track, visuals, and gameplay are some of my personal favorites I’ve seen in a game.
Just got this game today and I love it. Trying to main garchomp. If I had to pick a Pokémon to add it would be Zangoose and Delibird
The mons in this looks amazing. The textures are top tier.
You can't NOT admit that all of these super moves would f***ing HURT if you were on the receiving end.
Everybody
Stop complaing about how many character we got
We got 3 unique characters (yeah 2 were dlc but still)
And 5 from the arcade version who weren’t even in the wii u version
Considering ordering this for my little brother this Christmas
All music themes fit so well to each Pokémon !
The fact that Greninja isn't in this game is almost criminal.
Thanks for the details it helps me getting into the game
I love this format for character overviews
Good guide. Kind missed on Blaziken's burst, with it's lower health cost for enhanced moves, as well as the speed boost if L+R connects.
