Ron Wood jams harder on this, as an old geezer, than Jagger ever allowed him to in over 40 years with the Stones. Rod has always been one of the greatest rock front men.
Saw Rod Stewart and Faces around 1971 or so at Clemson SC right after Every Picture Tells a Story came out. This is by far the best song on that album, although Rod was really promoting the pop hit Maggie Mae. I really enjoyed Faces. They really put on a great concert that night! Will always remember that concert. Rod and Faces were best then. Wasn't really impressed when Rod went disco but I guess you do what ya gotta do, huh! This video brings him back to what I remember him by in the early 70s. Another great version of this song is by Rare Earth! Check that one out too. It's pretty good, also from the 70s.
Love the Faces, love the song, but watch this then watch any version from 30+ years ago. Still love watching it, but oh man were they a beast in the day. None of them came close to what they did together in the faces. They were tight!
There are some great boot CD's out there with early Faces recording, musically brilliant long improvised solos that are saw raw they were just held together with musical brilliance. They turn up on ebay in many different names, check the set lists and venues. Cheers Rob
Stunning. THEE perfect band. One question though. Anyone know why there are two bass players? And who is the guy on the left of the screen most of the time?
This song was by the great Motown band Rare Earth and Peter Rivera was helluva lot better as was the band too. Rivera, singer and drummer, set the standard for this song and others. Nice try Faces and Rod.
That guitar intro by Ron is classic... you can see in his body language how much he feels it as he plays it. Great tune ... one of the best covers !
Ron Wood is as cool as it gets when it comes to rock guitarist.

WOW! So much better than Rod solo the same year. Don't underestimate the power of friendship. These guys are greater than the sum of their parts.
Nothing like true rock & rollers. Rod is the man & he & Ron Woods together is awesome.
Rod and Ronnie tearing it
down at 70!!
Ah, that IS Kenny Jones! awesome.
Love the security guy in front rocking out.

Ronnie Wood brings out the best in Rod Stewart!
And also the Stones..
I def agree
Ya Man!!!!!!!
Why did they ever split up? Rod was never a good without Ronnie, and vice versa. The Faces were a great band.
Ronnie and Ian are sorely missed
Ronnie looks and sounds fucking great! LOVE this tune! Fun one to play as well!
fantastamendo, what a band Great reunion, they still got it
Legends 😊😊
All I can say is, Fucking Brilliant!! Please excuse my uncivilized language...
Old Ronnie lights up like a young man.
Thanks for the great share!
Maybe if they did a reunion tour they could work out the kinks. The Faces were the best, period.
Wow. That rocked!
Been waiting for this a long, long time!!! Wish they'd do a tour
This is good but there's three extra musicians on stage and is nowhere near as good as the live 71 footage of this on RUclips.
just be glad they're still willing to perform, past retirement age, with all the money in the world. instead of overstating the obvious, eh?
How come I didn't know about this. I'm gutted!
great!!!!!!
Nicely Done!
Why have I never knew about this??
I'd be a little nervous with Stewart swinging that mic stand behind my back.
They are missing Ronnie Lane's brilliant base support and hinting guitar intro to the lyrics.
old man time takes his yearly toll . !!
Nice but the original grooves more and has more juice.
Cut them some slack dude that was like 100 years ago.
That's cuz ian and ronnie lane have passed RIP
Who filmed this? Why didn't you use a much better camera? With better sound?
@@kickstar1 Don't talk stupid it wasn't 100 years ago! It was in the 70s!
@@kennethhalley8317 Give or take 50 years and yeah, it was a 100 years ago bro.
Nice to see Rod with a Rolling Stone 👍
Ha security guard thinks he's IN THE BAND AND PERFORMING ALSO!!!
Sorry...there is NO Faces without Mac!!!
Looks like the backing singers were chosen for the vocal ability and nothing else. Loved those boys back in the day.
No disrespect meant and telecaster is my favorite guitar but this song needs that thick humbucker guitar sound.
How hard do these guys rock? Check out the security guard rocking out @ 2:39
Kinda looked like Ronnie nicked Macawber for this but then I noticed it's got all 6 strings! LOL!
They broke up way too soon....
No more riff-centered songs these days. What a shame.
Kenny has lost - absolutely nothing.
Yeah, and what's with the plexi glass in front of his kit?
jimbob walton too loud for old Rod!
jimbob walton It's to improve accoustics, lot's of drummers use them now adays
Stunning. THEE perfect band. One question though. Anyone know why there are two bass players? And who is the guy on the left of the screen most of the time?
Rhythm guitarist
Look like YUYA UCHIDA.
YUYA UCHDA is Japanese Rock N' Roller
They don't have a better video of this. That somebody filmed on a real camera? With better sound?
Where is Ronnie Wood's Gibson Les Paul..? Playing this on a Fender Telecaster sucks....You can tell by the sound.....SUCKS...
lol the audio is terrible throughout...his Tele sounds right proper
Ronnie used to play a Zemaitis, similar shape to a Les Paul
wood used a zemaitis for this in the 70s
not as good as the 1971 original version -- Ronnie sort of bungled the intro.....
This song was by the great Motown band Rare Earth and Peter Rivera was helluva lot better as was the band too. Rivera, singer and drummer, set the standard for this song and others. Nice try Faces and Rod.
Originally done by The Temptations.
Not exactly Faces. No lane and no mac. Not the same. Especially since theres brass and backup singers. Wtf
Patrick Keene Plonk...
Un audio bruttissimo
Han solo wants his trousers back
horrible recording...too bad
This sounds awful
he needed to smoke....sad
Of all the "big name" rock drummers, Kenny Jones is one of the worst... 😱
