Two days ago I just happened to have watched the Faces doing this on you tube. Ronnie was sharp and impressive. Tight little fills were right on the money. And he was out front -- no place to hide in the mix. Brilliant
5/24/2021 @green323turbo I share your opinion. Though, not sure if he "lost something" when he joined The Stones, it's just that he was the "main man" in The Faces with his style that supported and worked well with Rod's vocals. In short, I liked his playing much better when he was with Rod & The Faces, also when he was bassist with The Jeff Beck Group.
@@frommetoyou4401 Also, in my opinion, the Stones started writing less interesting music after a few years without Taylor. Not saying Taylor was a cause, it's just that Jagger was running out of stuff to say.
Love your channel James. Your taste in music is right up my alley, and your playing is great. Appreciate your lessons, especially that you have been great providing a bit more info. Thank you. Still loving the vid on Free fire and Water too. After that Faces is one of my favs.
This is great! A few days ago, RUclips recommended The Faces I'm Losing You, which I love, and hadn't heard in quite awhile. Conveniently you made this excellent tutorial. BRAVO!~!!~!!
Please, please, please continue on with Ronnie’s stuff on faces. Oh how sweet it is!! King of noodling. PS: this isn’t a request I know you don’t take requests.
If I Had to explain rock ‘n’ roll with just one band it would definitely be The Faces. Everything is there. Classic rock ‘n’ roll guitar based in blues and the quintessential rock ‘n’ roll singer. The song though would be stay with me
Listened to this track 2x in the last 2 days and low and behold my favourite guitar teacher JJ is showing me how to play it. Thanks again, deep gratitude
Once in awhile, I check out the latest JJ song tutorial and am pleased to learn that I've been playing it correctly all these years after all. Had this one nailed 20 years ago. #Winning
The album version was from Every Picture Tells A Story. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Every_Picture_Tells_a_Story?wprov=sfti1. The Faces live: ruclips.net/video/DxGAdEVSCpk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/uP4CEPaiAzU/видео.html
Another Great Lesson James : Any Chance you could do a Lesson for = Know body Knows from The Faces first step album no one has done a real lesson on it on RUclips 👍🏻would be great if you could 🌞👍🏻❤️⭐️
James, I'm not familiar with the Faces. What would u say the background is on this song? Is it riffing on the blues? That first chord to me is like a funk chord. But I'm a begginer, not an expert

Every Picture Tells A Story. Back when Ronnie Wood was playing really nice guitar and had his own sound before he joined the Stones. Nice Lesson!!!
Good to see you back . Ronnie was a hell of a guitar player in the faces. He lost something where he joined the stones.

@@frommetoyou4401 it's really hard to get somebody to mesh with Keef. Mick Taylor is amazing and kinda same thing when he joined the Stones

Kenny Jones is on it nuff said
Ronnie yeah.....brilliant thanks James.

Stellar sound and playing as always

Good song choice.... great job explaining it as usual

Once in awhile, I check out the latest JJ song tutorial and am pleased to learn that I've been playing it correctly all these years after all. Had this one nailed 20 years ago. #Winning

One year later still kicks ass.
Thank you Sir
Killer... Love that tune!
thx dude - perfect tutorial 🎸🎸
Good lesson dude
Excellent tone resemblance
Lol, got it. great sound and lesson.
Nice one James
Yep, you’re right about the album. Every Picture Tells a Story, same album Maggie May is on.
sounds pretty fookin good
Awesome!
You got nowhere to go, where do you go when you’re on 10. Nowhere.
but this one goes to 11
I think he tunes the low E down to a D, making it easier to get that intro down. Plus it helps the open D ring nicely.
Hmm. That would make the thumb-over-the-top a lot more complicated for the main riff. I’ll have to experiment with that.
It's definitely alternate tuning in there
nice. the fills are spot on and you have that loose almost sloppy yet not at all sound going that is trademark.
K❄❄L !! ✌😎
Spinal Tap...'but this one goes to 11!'
When you need that extra push over the cliff

nice
Killer as always
🎵r0ck0n 🎵
The live Jeff Beck Group version has some nice lead work
where can I find that?
Cool riffage indeed!
Great version, its just missing Ronnies awesome red flairs. 😁
why weren't you and youtube around when I was trying to learn to play guitar 45 years ago?!!!!
Cut me some slack, I was only 7. :)
but you see...this one goes one more, to 11. stop looking at it!
This is the Rod Stewart I liked not the 'Do you think I'm sexy pop BS etc
Mine goes to eleven
What amp are you using? any pedals? great sound
I’m saying spinal tap
Mine goes to 11
But it goes to eleven!!
