I woke up during surgery on my knee. It was quite painful i could feel them drilling into my bone. this was in October. the doctors stopped until I went under again and then I didnt feel the rest.
I had it once and my body’s natural instinct was to fall around they thought I was having a stroke so they tried to save me but it kept going then they went out to my mom and said I wasn’t going to make it but when I woke up they said it’s a miracle then I shouted “ ITS NOT A MIRACLE IDIOT I HAD ANESTHESIA AWARENESS YA IDIOT”
I was wide awake during a surgery but that was right before they start so like the knife was on me making a wound they gave me more because someone noticed because they didn’t give me the right amount so they help me out and I was fine but it was really scary
I had it during an ear surgery and for some reason I couldn’t see anything but felt THE WORST pain inside my ear canal like someone was stabbing it and when I woke up after surgery, I thought it was a dream

She said she bit her tongue so hard that it bled a lot, and she'd told the nurses after what had happened. i’ve had 2 to remove an ovarian tumor . half the shit shane claims is common isn’t exactly. hospitals are MUCH smarter and more advanced than how they used to be!
sometimes doctors put things inside a patient and then proceed with the surgery and them they close the patient up and just don't realize they left something inside that person.
How could you ‘accidentally’ leave a 13inch stainless steel thing inside someone? Like.. ‘Oh, sorry I forgot to take that 20inch tree branch out if your brain’
there are also multiple incidents of doctors leaving rags inside of patients solely for the reason that they blend in with the blood and organs. It's possible that this happened with the rod, or that someone left it there, turned around and it slipped in and was so bloody that they just didn't notice it 🤷 it is very rare though
I'm a veterinary student, so we do surgeries as well, and considering how easy it is to leave something inside a dog or cat, which are much smaller than humans, I'm not surprised it happens in people. Your body is bigger and fuller than you think, so things can definitely be hidden by what's inside of you. However, a surgeon should be keeping track of what instruments they used and recognizing if it's not on their instrument table so... I don't know, I guess I get how it happens, but the fact that it happens so frequently makes me angry! We have to perform sponge counts going in and out of surgery too, before we close, so I'd be surprised if surgeons didn't have to do something similar. In that case, the amount of sponges left in should certainly be going down.
something similar happened to my godmother. 11 years ago she had a extreme blood clot in her leg and had to get surgery. the surgery was successful, but after it was not. the nurse gave her the medication she “needed” for after the surgery. she later found out it was indeed more painful than before the surgery. she was alarmed by the pain, so she went back to the hospital. they found out that it was the wrong medication. it was such a big impact on her leg that she had to get it amputated. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
SillentRedKnight I was ssoooooo serious watching and was about to cry bc I felt for these people sooooo much And then I read your comment and laughed so hard I choked
I remember going to the hospital for an MRI scan and I was beyond terrified. Luckily I had them put me to sleep and I don’t remember anything about it but the thoughts just absolutely scared me
OMG WHEN I SAW THIS COMMENT IM LIKE F*CKING LAUGHING🤣 HEY TELL THAT DOCTOR WHO LEFT THAT BAR IN THAT PERON SAY “how can u leave a 13 INCH BAR IN SOMEONE??!! You f*cking messes up!”🤣
Shane: "medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death in america" Covid-19: hold my beer Edit: i made this comment right as covid had begun to pick up pace so it kinda seems inappropriate now, mainly because many lives have been lost. So i would like to apoligize for joking about something serious. I will however leave it up because everyone could use a good laugh (i thought it was funny) Happy new year btw
With the thing about leaving stuff in the people, that SAVED my aunts life. So what happened is that they lost a sponge and when were taking it out, they found something else. They found out the sponge was not in her instead they found developing CANCER. They were able to get that out eventually but if they haven’t have found that sponge, by time they would have found it, it would be too late for her. It would have developed to a stage we’re it can’t be fixed.
"which means it's probably going to happen to a third of the people that watch this video" * Stops watching, unsubscribes, deactivates RUclips account *
I know two people that experience Anesthesia complications. One of them woke up during dental surgery, all her teeth was pulled out and there was nothing she could do but go through with it. The other person I knew, was awake when they did heart surgery on her. She can feel them open her ribs etc… That scared me so bad when these stories were told to me and other people I know.
SOMETHING TO NOTE: medical error is often misdiagnosis or missing symptoms. Often those who die due to medical errors would have died anyway if they didn’t go to the hospital, but ended up dying because of the fact that professionals didn’t succeed in saving them when they could have. Please go to the hospital when something is wrong.
crissy4445 but also if you watched the vid these people didn’t die or get hurt because of a misdiagnosis they messed up or just did the people wrong also they should have been more careful but I agree you should go to the doctor
How the hell does someone forget a 13 inch metal steel thingy in someone’s stomach??? Edit: it took me a while to realise how many likes I have gotten. Thanks alot!!
@@somerandomnerd756 I know but the doctors normally count how many tools they have before they start and then they do it again at the end to make sure that they remember everything. At least only the doctors that I have seen.
They work at least 30 hours a shift that's how... also they have to count all their supplies right before they close up, so it doesnt happen much any more
This could potentially happen when staff are way too overworked or when scrub nurses are rushed by surgeons to do surgical instrument counts. Instruments can get lost as between all die blood of an open cavity instruments are not visible. This is why surgical count is sooo important.
My Grandfather died in a medical accident. He was having heart surgery and the doctor (who was a medical professinal) cut open a vital artiry. They tried to keep him alive, but there was nothing they could do. They put Him on life support but his brain was already dead, eventually His wife said to take him off life support because "He wouldn't want machines keeping him alive". Rest in peace Claire "Papa Mike" McDaniel
When you get an MRI they have check lists and are extremely strict before even letting you inside the room. If you have some metal in your body and they are not sure wether it's magnetic, they will go through your medical records and find out, and if they can't they will cancel the scan. All items that are brought into the room needs to be checked for mr compatibility, even nurses and doctors that go into the room all the time are checked before entering. I'm soon an authorized radiologic technician so I know MRI safety is #1. If you are claustrophobic you can't get sedative.
Lol Shane, I'm an MRI Technologist. If you have questions, I can answer them. Not all metals are magnetic. People who need to be on oxygen, or people who are IV sedated for MRI's need the oxygen. Typically there is oxygen built into the wall in the MRI room, so there should be no reason to take an oxygen tank into the room, but there *are* MRI safe oxygen tanks as well.
Please bring these videos back. It felt very personal. Not that we don't love your investigations...... I just wish we could have these type of videos back again. Just shane sitting in front of the camera and talking about conspiracy theories with us. Love you!

Thank you guys for the likes and support! ♥️♥️♥️ Its the most likes I've gotten in so long! For anyone wondering, I was 11 when I wrote that, and now I'm 12! ♥️♥️♥️
Shane, I’ve watched your videos for the past 5 years and I’ve probably seen all of the conspiracy videos youve made at least 3 times. No matter what you do I will always love you. Youve helped me through my worst times and I’ll be here during yours 🖤 I love you
I recently had anesthesia awareness while removing my cancerous thyroid. Not only did i feel the extreme pain from every dose of the anesthesia medication burning my veins, they forgot to tape my eyes shut so I was unable to open my eyes for days because sharp pieces of what I assume to be plastic were scratching my retinas. 2 months later my left eye is all a blur and my right eye has most vision restored but at random times I cant see anything.
-underground Drifter- because they were in such a rush my organs never recovered so my body shut down last week. I am on 3 oral and 2 injections for my heart, pancreas and kidneys. It not only messes with your head but it can literally kill you.
I went in for an MRI and nobody bothered to tell me to take off my lip piercings or glasses. I asked if I should take them off as I was laying down, and all four people stopped what they were doing, looked at me, looked at each other, and tried to play it off like “yeah yeah, good idea, wouldn’t want those causing issues lol”....OMG
I went into the MRI with my piercings,I was fine.I just had to sign a waiver stating that I am aware the MRI could cause slight burns depending on the metal.I didn't have any burns or anything.
Adri Willes Why would you want to take that chance o.o It’s just for a little bit I can’t imagine why anyone would want to wear their piercings despite the risk
Extremely unlikely. MRI is never the first test you do when you're looking for something and metal objects are radiopaque and easy to see on a CT scan or x-ray.
“hey chris did you see my thing? you know the 13 inch metal thing?” “where was the last time you saw it?” “at the last surgery.” “i don’t know dude. it’ll show up eventually.” *a while later* “so something feels weird in my stomach.” “hey bill? remember how you lost that thing? ya we found it.....”
I hate surgeries that are failed. Especially when they leave objects in their patients. Especially the ones that are triggered by motions that makes them turn on.

-a majority of those 1 in 1000 patients don't even wake up, they just have memories involving the surgery that they are able to recall (doctors voices, bright lights, etc.)
-there are three separate medications given to a patient under general anesthesia: medicine that makes you unconscious (sleep), medicine that relieves pain, and occasionally a muscle inhibitor (medicine that causes the paralysis), it is extremely rare that only one part of the medication would fail without the remaining two failing as well
-there are three major risk factors that cause anesthesia awareness: an inadequate amount of anesthesia, machine failure, or patient issues... I will describe these below
*FEEL FREE TO SKIP THIS LOWER PARAGRAPH IF YOU AREN'T INTERESTED IN THE DETAILS*
1. inadequate amounts of anesthesia: some types of operations are known as "high-risk operations", these are usually emergency operations and sometimes the patient's bodies are unable to handle the proper amount of anesthesia (ex. emergency cardiac surgery, emergency c-sections, trauma surgery)
2. machine failure: during surgery sometimes a machine may fail, but there are several fail-safes in place to protect you; i won't go into detail because it can get confusing but some of these fail-safes involve measurements constantly done by the machine itself, the anesthesiologist constantly performing measurements, and a lot of the times there is a brain scanner that will constantly measure your body's response to the anesthesia (bonus: remember how I said that if one part of the medicine fails, it is likely the rest will too? that's because you are given medication in the form of a gas connected to the anesthetizing machine, if that gas is unable to reach you all of the medicine will fail (SLOWLY) and the doctors will most likely realize something is wrong before you are even able to wake up and comprehend a problem
3. patient issues: another major risk factor is the patient's previous tolerance to opioids (such as using recreational drugs like heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, fentanyl, or morphine often) if a patient's body is tolerant to an opioid, it will be less responsive to the anesthetizing medication
*LIST CONTINUES NOW*
-if you experience awareness (remember it's a 1 in 1000 chance), it is often fleeting (meaning it comes and goes quickly)
-most patients who experience a severe level of awareness will usually experience a sense of pressure at the most
-you have a team of CRNAs (specialized nurses) that constantly monitor your vital signs (breath rate, heart rate, etc)
so yeah, anyone out there afraid of surgery because of anesthesia awareness, please don't be,
it is very rare to experience and even more rare to actually feel anything, remember to talk to your doctor and anesthesiologist before going into surgery so you can help them make the right choices for your body!

sometimes doctors put things inside a patient and then proceed with the surgery and them they close the patient up and just don't realize they left something inside that person.

Citrus Friendz patient: nah bruh it's fine honest mistake we cool
there are also multiple incidents of doctors leaving rags inside of patients solely for the reason that they blend in with the blood and organs.
😂😂😂😂

something similar happened to my godmother.

I was misdiagnosis but they waited and tested my tissue and called me back before they did anything
Thank you for saying that.
Thx bro your a og
no, it was because the doctors/nurses didnt use common sense
edit: never mind i said the same thing as you
crissy4445 but also if you watched the vid these people didn’t die or get hurt because of a misdiagnosis they messed up or just did the people wrong also they should have been more careful but I agree you should go to the doctor

Wth!!
Kasey Smirke lmAo “oh opps I just dropped a knife in their body I’ll do it later”
