- The ultimate Truth, or God, can be found only if our longing is intensely one-pointed. Even a flicker of distraction takes this experience out of our feeble grasp. The poet Panju Shah declares in this song that he seeks only the feet of his guru. That is his sole purpose for taking birth. He challenges the guru, who bears the name of 'Compassionate', to prove his compassion by giving him, Panju Shah, the gift of his feet.

If there is an embodiment of intensity, Parvathy is it. As our friend, as an advisor, as a fiery challenger, she has brought us into deeper touch with ourselves. Her tears flow freely in this song while she sings of this longing, and embodies it so intensely. Yet, often, she breaks out into laughter right after weeping through a whole song. She shows us what it might mean to hold that elusive intensity of longing within oneself.
This recording was made as part of our week-long immersion with Parvathy at her home and akhada on the outskirts of Trivandrum in September 2011. She warmly welcomed us, housed us, fed us, sang for us and spoke to us with great depth and insight about the Baul path and about life itself. An experience that we still carry with us.
Parvathy Baul is a Baul singer and saadhika, painter and storyteller from Bengal and has been a disciple of Shashanko Goshai and Sanatan Das Baul. She divides her time between her home in Trivandrum, Kerala and the Baul ashram she has built near Shantiniketan in Bengal. (parvathybaul.com/)

I think people have to understand that, she is not ordinary singer. She is Guru, maybe enlightened being, hope people understand her importance and how she can change your life..

This is a form of guru devotion, stirring the compassion of one’s guru with music and melody. The lyrics could be Hindu and Buddhist or mystical Islam pointing to India’s syncretic past !
The true Satguru is not a man who walks the earth, but the divine master who lives in the heart of mankind.
The song can be interpreted as Guru devotion, but it applies fractally all the way up and down, as high or low as you can conceive.
That is what I felt from this awesome performance, it reminded me of the pleadings of my heart to Christ/the Satguru. Blessings!

Whatever we may call it, Guru is that ultimate destination. Guru is that person who knows everything about you, even your deepest and darkest secrets. You have nothing to hide from that person. I wish everyone will at least once get the chance to sit in front of his or her master's lotus feet and just burst into tears of ecstasy and bliss.

Have a look when she sings and looks around her face , her eyes become so gracefull , as if she feels and she watches some thing spiritual beyond our imagination and explanation. I feel that this lady is not an ordinary singer. When she sings she feels some spirit in herself and looks above as if he arrived for whom she is looking for.

This bhajan reminded me the Shabad - Charan Kamal Tere Dhoy Dhoy Peewa mere Satguru Din Dayal.. So pure.. So magic.. Too emotinal.. Such devotion.. Such immense gratitude.. Just wow..
