    Amazing, Nick, as always!! What a great concept: get ordinary people and push their instincts and see where it goes. This guy is a good sport and fast learner. But each lesson you give us Nick, gives us just a tiny bit more edge and confidence that we don't have to be victims. Thanks!!

      Muay Thai has a lot of focus on stand up clinch, balance, and trips. If you consider that grappling, then yes.

      +TWoN Ummm.. The Clinch and Balance is a form of Grappling. In Jujitsu you are taught focus balance and Clinches are actually used in more Grapple Based Martial Arts anyways. Judo uses some of the same Ideas

    When Fabien asked if he could strike, Nick said yes & his eyes lit up, like hell yeah!! Wish you were in my area nick seriously, Vasil wouldn't stand a chance against me. I have confidence in my skills, no ego or nothing, just got confidence in knowing what to do. Watching your videos has trained me to be more alert & know more about trapping with striking then muscling & grappling like Fabien did in the beginning. That guy rocked though,bet Vasil wasn't expecting that...lol!! Poor guy does need pants though.

    No hate or anything, but in a previous video, you were talking to a person, about knife self defense and said Vasil was in prison, then proceeded to say, you were just kidding. I am a little confused. The reason why, the spider tattoo on his right elbow, is a prison tattoo. It basically represents the person was trapped in a spider web (trapped inside a prison). was he in prison, or not?

    Why is open handed better than making a fist? (:

    • @BagIsFull
      @BagIsFull 9 лет назад

      I assume it's used for when you're trying to push the attacker away, as an open hand has a larger surface area than a fist which would make the process easier.
      But when striking, using a fist does more damage.

    • @kongoll
      @kongoll 9 лет назад +9

      Isabelle gulbransen Fist is dangerous and you can hurt yourself a hell of a lot more than your attacker. With open hand you have more leverage, options like gouging eyes or scratching, ability to grab, etc.
      While fist has the potential to do more damage, in a street fight when your knuckles break and the guy still isn't knocked out, you're fighting a 1 handed battle.

    • @Mimmer13
      @Mimmer13 9 лет назад

      Isabelle gulbransen No, open hand because hes wearing that hard helmet, and could damage them if he used fist, so open hand for training :)

    • @kongoll
      @kongoll 9 лет назад +5

      Mads Møller Hansen No, open hand always. He could damage his hand if there wasn't a helmet either. A human skull is probably harder than that helmet.

    i think drossos is BS he didn't show the guy anything really. Vasil eased up when the guy did it the drossos way. bucking someone over from side control is not easy if they are firmly planted into the ground and doesnt make sense as a go to tactic. its not easy like bucking them over from mount (you have more control of their hips). I want to see drossos sparring at 70% at least before I respect him (use knife props with a competent guy coming at you full force).

    • @villakuyt
      @villakuyt 8 лет назад +2

      +Jehanzeb14 What ur saying is legit , I've done bjj for a while now . But we're talking about street situations , escaping from mount or side control against a grappler who actually understands the advantage of this position and the ways his opponent is going to look to escape is completly different from a guy who's overpowering a women to rape her from the mount or being attacked and the attacker taking side control . Its much easier to escape when they don't understand the position . Against a grappler that's a whole other story . I get what you mean about him not being that good , and I've seen a couple of his videos , he's not that good of a grappler but against somebody who's a random attacker he is superior . And from what I understand he says his a self defence coach not a bjj coach so his not misrepresenting his skill set what he does is very legit for a self defence coach . And what I like in a couple of videos I've seen is that he's giving tips to people about how to make their method more effective in public . cheers .
