- In this classic model kit review, I am looking at Tamiya's 1/48 Mitsubishi A6M3 Zero (Hamp). This is kit no. MA-125. We'll be looking at the finished kit, the instructions, the surface detailing, the transparencies, the decals, modifications I made to enhance detail, aftermarket parts used in this build, and finally, I'll be giving my conclusions. This classic kit has been around for years. With the newer Tamiya, Hasegawa, and Eduard Zeros now available, is it still worth building? Let's find out together!

Oldie but goodie!, This was my reentry to the hobby kit. Came together real well.
You really nailed the weathering, I think it fits the age and usage of an aircraft from Buna at that time of the war.
The newer tool Tamiya A6M5 version of the Zero is superb as you mentioned.
Thank you!
She’s a very well done build! Have this in my stash somewhere along with a Tamiya type 21 which is a later kit. Another great review!
Thank you!
These early Tamiya 1/48 kits are ideal kits for a stress free build,I have done a number of them and the filler stayed in the tube.
Right on Kenneth.
thats all I want to hear :D
Just finishing Tamiyas 1973 release model 21 Zero, a sister to this kit. If you’re not crazy about rivets and extreme detail, it’s an awesome kit. The fit and quality parallel that which was described in this video. I would recommend anyone building any of the Tamiya 1/48th Zeros mask and paint the markings if possible. Overall those classic Zeros are excellent kits.
I agree Ryan!
Another great build, well done!🤗
Thank you!
Awesome, thank you for your honest review. Just about to get 'back in the game' and I'm hovering above the exact same unbuilt kit as I write this. Thanks for the inspiration.
You're welcome!
I've always liked hte old Tamiya Zeroes - A6M2, M3 and M5. Classics! Though apparently, Japanese Navy pilots hated it! LoL!
Right on!
