i still cant understand how a sport that at least in vert, sent people higher, increased the number of flips and spins and had a high level of competitiveness was cut from Xgames. Its a tragedy considering xgames is meant to be about extremes sports but cuts the most extreme vert contest. No bmx, skate or scooter can match what was thrown down between the yasatokos and Yost's and other competitors of the inline comp
It's because 'non-skaters' look at something from the outside and judge it. It's like how skateboarders use to hate on us at the skatepark. Then we start pulling massive airs out of the bowl. I myself have experienced this. The skateboarders were roaming around failing to give way giving me dirty looks then after a few weeks I started busting massive 540's out of the bowl and that shut them up.
we gotta bring this back-- the only way skating is coming back is if the skaters come together and get events going. I think people just forget that inline skating is a thing
It's still popular in Asia in Europe. They have the X-Games in those countries featuring inline skating. I guess it was one of those things that was a trend that later on died down. I used to rollerblade as a kid, stopped for 10 years and now I'm back in the game. Now when I skate, I can't believe I stopped. It is so therapeutic.
It's even harder on the pro-skaters themselves. They don't make a lot of money. And they cant make money because they cant book shows/events. They can't book shows/events because no one cares to watch skating events. It's a frustrating cycle. Rollerblading is truly the underdog of sports. It always had been.
@@nickm4974 Facts bruh. I used to ski (freestyle, freeride and some racing competitions) since i was 4 till i was 18 and due to college i moved to a city where i can't ski . Now 5 years later after missing skiing so much and having more free time thanks to Covid i'm considering buying a pair of rollers and try it out.
I'm 13 everyone in my area rides scooters but I ride inlines- I've seen like 1 other inliner ever- but I love inlineing it just feels so much more natural than BMX or scooter or skateboarding. It's hard tho because there's no one to give me tips- but I love it!
I agree man. I've tried skateboarding, and I used to scooter when I was young. But inline came more naturally to me than anything else. Just getting back into it and it's so much fun! And like you said so much more natural than the others.
You guys gotta bring that over to america. I blade but other than that, there are no competive style competitions for vert, and no way for someone to go pro; the lack of activity and the lack of skaters willing to go pro in a sport with no real backing really kills a sport, because if a person cant find a solid reason to do something, and find support for their sport, theyll give up, and soon the sport dies. Although the sport is slowly regaining ground, i think that in 2 years there would be enough people into it for competitions to start up again, at least thats what im hoping for
That's because it died out back in the 90s early 2000s used to be popular then out of nowhere is dropped off the map it probably won't make a comeback sorry to tell you
@CesarAndrade What a nice video guys. You're all doing a great job. congrats for the victory you two....you're keeping this sport up. you're carrying brazilian flag around the world and it's so nice. I'm brazilian and I don't ride blades hard anymore, but i'm enjoying a lot to keep looking for your videos and seeing how nicely you're doing...so happy and proud of you guys...all the best...
actually i think inline skating is much more fantastic and skillful both in profession and art.u know, other sessions are cool and extreme, but inline skating has a sense of arts, much beautiful with the human body flying in the sky.the height would be much more higher and the flaps would be much more.actually it's a lose for xgames in USA.
oh...just to let you know...I live in Auckland -NZ and here there is a great public park to ride. has been just built....If you ever wish to come let us know....Cheers!!!
Riding street/skate park is a great way to start and it's how I started. Not on huge ramps like this one obviously but you can start small and progress.
First and i think most important is to have a couple of friends with the same mental problem XD !!!!! then practice , take the shit out of yourself sometimes and enjoy life XD !!!! good luck!
It's crazy to think in the 90s heir were more rollerblading contest then any skateboarding and bmx when rollerblading was at its biggest bmx was dying out but it all switched around after rollerblading was dropped from the xgames ,they made a decision during the xgames either cut rollerblading or cut bmx and they cut rollerblading that's when it made the huge decline
I know all about rain I am from UK after all. You can still slide out badly on a wet metal ramp and it hurts :P I do know one outdoor wooden park here but the ramps are falling apart from rot xD

I don't understand how you get so crazy dude just a rollerblade halfpipe

Penelope416 true but it’s coming back due to Covid
@@nickm4974 you do know this was a comment from 6 years ago
JoVaHhh yeah that’s why it’s hilarious I’ve been seeing People pick up blading due to Covid. It’s a great time for Inline.
@@nickm4974 That's a good thing. I've commented before on other inline videos about how skating should come back.

The human always waned to fly. And for a few seconds, the human was able to fly
This is why aggressive skating is so legendary
Marco is unreal but what makes him so outstanding is the pure artistry of his moves. It's flat out art!
Makes me wanna skate again
You always can skate agian

haha not natural but more easy... it's just extremely easy... skate is for man with balls ;)

Lindo demais ver o Brasil no pódio.

can't believe how dead aggressive skating is, in the USA.
@NormanRockswell Who hurt you lol
NormanRockswell it’s a another action sports discipline like BMX. Dumb Arse
@DNBPORVIDA we all don’t have to be sheep a like skateboarding because you do.
It was a media ploy. Sucks how well it worked on Americans.
@@KombuchaBuzzed what's up comment from 3 years ago. I'm still skating. 😎
I even found skate krews in LA! ☺️

@MarkMusic08 damien marley - it was written dubstep
@Gernerr Probably Stainless Steel, longer lasting basically is the only reason. They're not as nice to skate than wood in my opinion.
i wanna see a boarder do a double back-flip ...
and all this in my nice country HOLLAND
It's obviously a little kid taped to a wall. I actually have one in my house, they're quite entertaining.
i want to go there too^^
Que pro!
JET SET RADIOOOOO
1:52 the best :D
how do you even start to practice this for a beginner?
Riding street/skate park is a great way to start and it's how I started. Not on huge ramps like this one obviously but you can start small and progress.
can it be done with 80mm wheels or is it really recomanded to use aggressive skates?
+Commander Shepard aggressive skates are recommended cause you can grind and stuff with them.
