    My first motor cycle came from sears catalog 1955.I was 15. It was a Moped bike.49cc.Allstate 2 speed 20mph.. Lots of fun... Today i own a Piper Saratoga 2 TC 06. What a difference. 🤠😎

    Love this! My dad worked part-time at Sears around Christmas and I think nearly everything in our house was Sears brand, Silvertone record player, Kenmore appliances, Tower typewriter! Thanks for the memories! :-)

    Jeez, I can't believe that they sold the radiator for 37.99, I got a new one like you for only 25.00... Before we replaced our old appliances I remember the 1950's stove (white outside with turquoise inside) Yuk! It was rusty and dirty.

    Considering that in 1959 the average income was 6 grand a YEAR (that's about 115 a week) some of the "high end" stuff would of really took some scrimping and saving back then for stuff you can get at lawn sales now for 50 cents.

    My first C B radio was a Hallicrafter and I still have a Hallicrafter short wave receiver.

    Wow, 12AX7 tubes for $1.34... I just bought 3 for $75 they are 1957 vintage.

    1950's black and white TV =$100.00-$200.00
    Today's very large screen HD TV's=$5000 or higher!!
