- Vibrating exercise platforms promise to tone you up in record time with far less effort, and they look fun, too. But do they really work? I took my mum's new machine for a sneaky test-drive to find out.

Loved this! I have no idea how I ended up here, and I rarely watch youtube video’s to the end. I’ve not only watched to the end, laughed and enjoyed it all, then went on Amazon and purchased a Vibration Plate for my wife and I! Subscribed! Thank you for sharing :)

I have one and it ain't no gimmick. With that said, it should be a part of your fitness routine, not your only fitness routine.

@@getlauriekor I bought one. Short version: It does two things. One, it makes you work harder; I mean, you can just stand on one and it'll work you out. Two, it doesn't hurt as much afterward because you're already more or less massaged.
In addition, since it's essentially shaking a large amount of muscle, the muscles are more flexible.
Only thing is...she's already in great shape!!!🤨🤔
The machine actually forces your body to maintain your balance and endurance. It is also a massager. This is not a con product :)

these machines best benefits are its over all healing properties imo... just do it 10 minutes a day for a week and you will understand why people love these..

Hi Susan. When my mum told me they'd bought this machine after seeing a demonstration in a shopping centre - and told me the price - I was a bit shocked! This video is quite old now, and my mum ended up giving me the machine - she didn't like the way it felt like it was shaking her joints. She's nearly 80 and quite tiny, so I could understand why she wouldn't like that feeling. I haven't used it a great deal, but I do enjoy it when I get on. It's a fun way to add variety to a workout.

I bought mine from a charity shop for 10 pound and it has absolutely saved my live. I'm pain free from muscle cramps after 2 weeks of 10 minutes a day twice a day, its truely unbelievable.

Yeah the shaking of your brain is what mini concussions feel like. when positioning your a push up position on a vibrating plate head angle positioning is very important.

You want to try the one that I use the Reviber, it can withstand 448lbs I weigh 210lbs, just 10 minutes on this beast at top speed and you feel that you have been to the gym for 2 hours.

@@50isthenewfabulous I have the Plate Personal personal I won it in a giveaway. The movements aren't visible when it's running like that one, but you do feel the shaking throughout your entire body. It vibrates more like an engine. It seems like the way they do it allows for some different exercises. Mine has 2 speeds, they suggest low for building muscle and high for massage and stretching.

Lowest setting is apparently better for muscles
These aren't really for exercising but more for warming up and post workout relaxation.

Hi Julie, if you Google Vibra Plate you'll get a load of options, many that look very similar to mine. I think if you just get a basic model you'll be fine. (And check the online reviews, too!)

Hi Sarah, I'd say the machine would work best for toning. To lose weight it's mostly down to how much/what you eat :-)
@@50isthenewfabulous I understand losing weight is down to healthy eating. However along with healthy eating would this work the same way as a treadmill for example? That would make you lose weight. Or does this machine just help to tone up ?
I don't think it would burn many calories, in the way that a treadmill or other cardio machine can (especially if you perform HIIT on those machines). So no, I wouldn't say it's a great aid to weight loss. But it's a fun way to add some variety to your strength training program :-)
So do you have a ball park cost on that thing?
I think it was around $300.00. There are cheaper models online.
