Ah, great update Ken. You are looking well and the results from your new life adaptions seem apparent. Both of you set a great example to us all. Take care both ! ☺️
Great progress Ken! You are doing the right things by just changing your way of eating, exercising and trying to live as stress-free, interesting and joyful a life as possible.
Well done Ken. Great progress! My wife is a diabetes specialist nurse and she always promotes exercise and eating in moderation and ensuring your dinner plate ‘is the colours of the rainbow’ (veggies). If you have any questions, then I would be happy to ask for you. Take care and keep up the good work buddy …
Ken, your attitude is great. Your just have to look at this as a new way of life. I wish I had done that years back. It's been about 2.5 years now, but I have lost 104 lbs. and after 25years as a diabetic, I am down to the pre-diabetic range. Keep up the good worl/ 🙂🙃🙂
Thank you for sharing. Whilst I wish you good health always, it can be somewhat comforting to hear how others deal with health issues when they arise. Good luck and best wishes😊🙏
Thank you so much for the update. It is so interesting with what you are finding out to do with diabetes . You explain it really easy and in layman terms. Thank you so much .
Hello Carol and Ken, Wonderful to see you doing so well with your Type 2 Diabetes. Your changes to food help and head you into the right direction for sure. As a Mom of two adult children with Type 1 and two others with Type 2 Diabetes it has been a journey over the years but all the mile stones for them have been a positive thankfully. Keep up the good work for both of you, you don't have to be Diabetic to make those changes in life, especially as we age gracefully. Bless you both and travel safely. 🙏
Excellent news. You are looking so well. Smaller portions are good. Using smaller plates or bowls also tricks the mind into thinking you have a ‘big’ meal. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
Well done Ken, your approach to improving your health has been much the same as the approach my husband and I have. Our food choices are second nature to us now and we are reaping the health benefits. I find it quite amusing when people say to me that life is for living as they feast on poor food choices and are suffering the consequences.
Great to hear Ken😊👍walking is the key, health wise, good for the mind, soul, body 👌 a little treat every niw n again keeps ya happy 😊 😀 😄 onwards and upwards 🙌 🎉
Thanks for update. ❤ You do look healthier, no matter what the numbers might say. You are setting a fabulous example for (the perhaps many thousands of) people. Walking also a healthy strategy. I was concerned about your diet and expanding belly.
Your videos on diabetes has given me the reassurance I need that my life long exercise, keeping slim and extremely fit regime ( life long amateur racing cyclist ) has been worthwhile doing all these years. I am nearly 66 with no comorbidities and take no prescription drugs. You have proved that life may be too short but by doing the right things with your lifestyle, it needn't be. I now see all my similar age acquaintances growing older at a much faster and unhealthier rate than me biologically, alarmingly so the immobile, beer swillers and smokers amongst them. Keep at it !
So glad you’re doing better and feeling well now. I’m trying to do better too. I’m not doing as well as you, but just a little change at a time. Keep up the good work! So happy for you🐝❤️🤗
Blood test regarding diabetes is normal at the moment, but my BMI is too high & my Blood Pressure is still too high even with medication. Unfortunately, I am still teaching & will have to for the next couple of years. There is no doubt that is contributing to my high BP. That said , losing weight & exercising more will help. You have inspired me, cut down on my calorie intake, more exercise & have made an appointment so I can utilise the NHS exercise referral scheme. Thank you for the wake up call. Well done on your progress, very inspirational. All the best to you both.
Several of my relatives have had diabetes but I'm more prone to hypoglycemia. It's very recognizable because I get clammy, sweaty, and very nauseous. I try to grab a piece of cheese until I can eat; keeping a string cheese stick on hand is helpful. Sounds like you're doing great. Keep up the goid work!
That's great to hear good news on your progress, Ken. It's certainly making a difference - your skin does look much healthier. All the best for the next blood test!
Thanks for the update😊 Slow and steady wins the race…sounds like you got a hold on the “ situation” and you will be “ right as rain” before you know it…say Hello to Carol from everybody…
My dad was verging on diabetes AND taking meds for it!! He started eliminating a sweet biscuit with his cuppa and within two months, he was off the meds! So keep up the good work Ken..and a good woman by your side monitoring!😂 All will be okay xx
Wonderful update Ken, doing all the right things. Although I'm not diabetic I've had an ankle break which has made me rethink what I eat. So I don't have the same amount of biscuits I used to have with a cup of tea. Protein and vitamin rich foods to aid recovery. All the best to you and Carol ❤
Well done Ken … I found out I have high sugar heading towards diabetes but now have to change plus high closterol so I find your videos inspiring and would love a video to show us what you have been eating on a day …. ❤
Good for you and of course Carol! I found that once I had made the mental adjustment to the new eating parameters it was actually as easy as could be. Keep on looking after yourself❤
Thanks Ken you've been a big help to me as I navigate all the changes to our lifestyle. Nev has been diagnosed with diabetes, about the same time as you, so I've been pretty much following your advice. It's a minefield of information out there but your clear and honest opinions have been so helpful. Thanks again.👋🦘
I would be nice to see an episode, where you two cooked for us, and showed us some of those healthier meals. I a big guy that needs to loose some weight myself. It could be very inspirational. You are looking very healthy, Ken. Especially your skin.
Hi Ken and Buny, as usual great stuff, as your in France fyi there is a very good overnight at Pre-en-pail, an hour North of Le Mans, great village with Supermarket and Fuel. You'd be welcome for a coffee or tea with us as we are around the corner. Stay fit and healthy, regards Annette and Andy.
I’m so happy for you both! Your changes are all for the right reasons, in my opinion. I will guess when you go back for you A1C you’ll find things improved. I look forward to the next series in France with the improved ken and Carol. Mary
Well done! I was diagnosed prediabetic earlier this year and I remember watching your videos at that time of food you were eating and thinking you could be heading for trouble diet wise! I’m on a pediabetic NHS course and lost a few kgs just by changing the way I eat. Getting tips from you now as well so thanx for that. Keep going you’re heading the right direction xx
Your videos about this have been very motivating for me. I’ve finally cut out sugar. Still low borderline but your words about the effects of exercise are so helpful!
Hi ya both to include Carol, lovely video, I think you are doing brilliantly well, looking good, but still enjoying life, lovely walks, cutting back or down on certain things, yes it’s hard would be for me, but only you know how it’s really going, keep up the excellent work looking great. Take care both, ❤
Hi Ken, fantastic , well done, I think you look great, fitter and as you say, better to have stuff in moderation rather than not at all as no point in being fit but miserable missing all the treats. You've inspired me to get my bum in gear and fit in some more exercise, thank you.
Well done and I want to say thank you. I had just been told I was pre diabetic had high blood pressure, cholesterol and heart rate and combined with my family history was at risk of a heart attack or stroke just before I watched your first video about your health. It really gave me the incentive to do something. I have switched to a Mediterranean style diet and adopted your salad dressing idea of cider vinegar and extra virgin olive oil on salads before my main meal. I am exercising three times a week at the gym and walking more. Like you my weight loss is slow but I feel so much better. My gp said it’s better to lose weight slowly and not to deprive myself as if it’s not enjoyable it won’t be sustainable. I hope you continue to enjoy your new lifestyle and feel the benefits of it.
You do look well Ken and Carol to, it is always easier if your partner sticks to the same foods as you, this means not too much temptation! My mum and dad both had late onset diabetes can't remember if this is type 1 or 2 my dad had tablets and my mum dieted they both did very well, but when my mum had a small stroke two weird things happened she stopped suffering arthritic pain in her knees and her diabetes corrected itself, no explanation given by doctors why this happened! However, I do not recommending having a stroke to stop arthritic pain of diabetes! Keep up the good work both of you🙂💖👍
Such great progress Ken. Well done. You are exactly right not to say you are on a diet but this is a change in how you eat going forward. The only thing I would say is not to stop the metformin without the advice of your GP - If you had issues with the meds then there is a slow release metformin that you can ask for - it’s more expensive so they don’t offer it up front. . This may help with the slight sugar lows but obviously your GP will be the best person to ask. The drug not only helps your body regulate your sugar levels it does also help with weight loss which along with exercise is one of the key things to help bring your blood sugar levels back within range. Anyway I look forward to seeing your France trip in the new year. All the best with your next blood test.
It all sounds really good. Youre doing it the right way and yes you do look far healthier .With all the diet and exercise changes You'll find the first blood test will show a pretty decent drop in HbA1c but don't be discouraged is it isn't as dramatic as you hoped . You're on the right path !!!
Hi there you’re looking very well now Ken and you can see the weight loss even if it isn’t a lot you can definitely tell well done keep it up glad it’s helping you both you’ve seemed to struggle this year since you were both so poorly earlier on enjoy France we’re off beginning of next year for our winter months 😍👋🏼
Ah, great update Ken. You are looking well and the results from your new life adaptions seem apparent. Both of you set a great example to us all. Take care both ! ☺️
All your efforts are paying off, Ken. You are doing all the right things. Wonderful if the meds can be avoided.
Great progress Ken! You are doing the right things by just changing your way of eating, exercising and trying to live as stress-free, interesting and joyful a life as possible.

Cheers 👍. Am I right in thinking I get a blood test every three months on the NHS?
Mine is once a year but I’m having an extra one six months in as I’ve been injured and my score went up two due to not as much exercise!
Thanks for the update mate, we are rooting for you 👍
