Great demo guys! Full disclosure. I own a natural acoustasonic Tele and I love it. From a purely aesthetic POV, I think the tele body lends itself better for this hybrid. It just looks better - like a perfect blend of acoustic and electric bodies. I wouldn't kick the strat out but I prefer the tele. Fender did a great job. I love this direction. I got a Fisher loudbox mini and it is a dream paired with that guitar. Thanks for comparing.
I guess it is a matter of preference but the Stratocaster wins on every level for me. I think it's the larger body and the richer tones that the Stratocaster produces.
I prefer the tele from all demos I have watched, at least when it comes to the acoustic voices. I tend to hear a little more "boxiness" from the strat. A low midrange, hollow ambience that does not sound like a quality acoustic guitar. And I am listening to demos on my Blue Sky studio monitor system, not my phone by the way.
I was waiting for the strat to come out..but I think I actually like the tones of the Telecaster best! Glad I waited to decide. Cooper, I can listen to you play anytime man!! I listened to your jazz master demo, it is GREAT!! Thanks again!!

@@racistrishi3238 It's guitar modelling... you can bypass the pickups altogether if you want to. In fact, pretty sure that's how Line6 Variax guitars do it. They have a nylon string setting and have had it for decades now.

Excellent comparison as usual guys. I watched a load of the Strat demos and thought that the Tele was better to my ears & did more tones I liked. Then you do this A B comparison video, . . . . . . & PHEW, still think the same. Good thing to as 2 days ago I bought the Koa Tele acoustasonic - (the same guitar as in the A*d**t*and video, sorry, but in my defense they are my local guitar shop). Great job! Fantastic playing. I have a Crafter that mimics the Taylor. I agree with your assessment that the Fenders both are geared more for the acoustic sound. I’m considering changing to the Acoustasonic Strat after watching your video! I’m lefty and am not sure they are in production yet! Thanks much!!
I had the 2010 model of the Telecaster Acoustasonic (the solid body), and the Fishman Aura sounds (1-4) were excellent. The Twisted Tele pickup was great alone, or blended in, and I love that it had a master volume ... BUT - (there's always a but) this new Acoustasonic Tele has so much more resonance than the solid body. The solid body was a bit top heavy, where the hollow body is very well balanced. I prefer the matte finish to gloss, too. I haven't touched the Strat yet, but from all demos I prefer the Tele about 6-4 (I gave each sound a point) As an acoustic player, I prefer the Tele. If I was doing more electric work, I might be swayed, but so far I believe I've made the right choice. Excellent demo - helped alot!
Excellent demo. These are highly desirable. Lots of new and old territory to cover. I'm dying to have either one, but untouchable at the price point. Maybe something MUCH less expensive will come down the pike from someone.....
I love the way these sound!!! I wish they weren’t so expensive!!! Maybe in a few years when they come down in price a bit, I better start saving my pennies now! Wish they had this when I was younger learning guitar!
The Strat has a lot of subtle variations of a wider range of compositions and sizes. I like it’s shape too. The Tele seems to have a better selection of electric sounds. I own both a Tele 60th Anniversary model and a ‘75 Strat I picked up shortly after graduating from college (a CBS Strat). I could see having one of each, except that as I approach retirement and downsizing, I need to be selling, not buying.
Are you planning a comparison of these vs the Jazzmaster? Looking for the one with the best acoustic sounds in it. Originally i thought jazzmaster but the Tele sounds really nice and i prefer the clean of the Tele so now i'm leaning tele... any help would be awesome.
Fender I thin you missed the make on the Stratocaster. I mean great job on the acoustic modeling, best sounding in the industry, but the margin in the telecaster. Is in the bridge pick up and the neck pickup in the Stratocaster.
I liked that the tele seemed a bit brighter, reflecting the tele twang, while the stray was a bit darker reflecting the big bluesy sound of a strat, but that could just be me. ‘I am looking at you, Gibson.’ I was thinking the exact same thing.
great playing!! I am a lefty and just got a Telecoustic, and have a 1999 custom strat that I will be buried with but man I wish they made a lefty acoustasonic strat. maybe next year!

The guitars look cool as hell, but, I don't know, the models all sound like different takes on a piezo pickup. To my ear, at least, they make a sound I usually try to dial out of my acoustics when I amplify them directly.
Many mixed comments here. I can’t decide what I think about it but I am still curious. However I feel like at the price point and my skill level I would have to skip it. If money was no option I guess I could see myself buying this. Thanks for giving me something to contemplate and I hope I can play as well as the long haired man in this video one day.

Personally, it would have helped me more if the presentation had been done using a playing style that is more similar to how this instrument would be used in a situation where someone needed to be able to play an acoustic rhythm and then switch to an electric lead for a bit, and then back to an acoustic rhythm. The noodling with fingers didn’t really present a contrast for how they would each perform in a live performance.
Both sound like acoustic guitars with pickups. Ok for local cover band gigs, but they still have that boxy, quacky, sound we associate with piezo pickups. For a pro gig or studio recording I don’t see a place for these. Maybe in the future with improvements to the tech.

For the Strat in Position 2B, you demo’d “Fender Electric Clean” instead of “Blended Electric and Acoustic” as done with the Tele for Position 2B. For the Tele, “Fender Electric Clean” was Position 1A. Then, for the Strat in Position 1B, you demo’d “Fender Electric Dirty”, which was not demo’d for the Tele. Why?
