    "What you doin' man?"
"I think I'll go on down the corner"
One of the black boys said "I need none of your pity"
It's your mama that don't like you loose in the city
But stick about, take note, take a tip and take no back lip
Come closer, let me see you snap your fingertip
Because standing on my corner just might suit ya
Or maybe, baby, there's something else that you wanna do, yeah
    Like rolling dice, nice
Like shooting pool, hey that's cool
I'm a little black boy and I don't know my place
I'm a little black boy and I just threw my ace
I'm a little black boy, recognize the face
One of the black boys said "I'm a-giving a warning"
"People been putting me down, I'm so tired I'm yawning"
A new suit, pretty boots to boot, I'm feeling slick, yeah
I'm gonna go to town, look around, pull a chick, yeah
Of course standing on the corner just might suit you
Or maybe, baby, there's something else that you wanna do, yeah

The most experimental guitarist that Thin Lizzy ever had in it's ranks plus Eric covered so many facets and styles .

I wasn’t a fan of where they went after Eric left, but you’re right, there was a universe of music to appreciate in Eric’s playing🙂@@TheHumbuckerboy

this was b side of whiskey in the jar-i used to play this more than the a side- never understood why eric bell was never rated higher- his playing on the vagabonds album was great and the solo on the rocker is my favourite of all time

Set me straight, was that a different recording with a slightly different intro than the version found on the album? Whiskey in the jar I mean. My introduction to this was when I was old enough to be trusted to put a record on the old Radiogram/Console in the shed, in the mid to late 70s, but I seem to recall the intro being slightly different. I too probably played Black Boys more than Whiskey though.

not sure which song you are referring to but this version of black boys on the corner is the same as the b side to the single that i used to have, there was a version of the rocker released that was released as a single that was about 2 minutes shorter than the lp version, and there was a single version of whiskey in the jar and a longer version also but i dont think ithe song was ever on an album- @@Dave-Rough-Diamond-Dunn

@@user-gy5cx5db2iI was referring to Whisky in the Jar, I seem to remember a longer intro on the single Dad had but I haven't been able to find one. I'm trying to recall what I heard as a kid in the 70s though, so I could be mistaken, that's why I thought you might have had some insight into it. I live in Australia, so that might have something to do with it, we often had different releases.
      Thanks for your time! 🙂👍
