    The PTO need to amend the rules to state that a wildcard that finishes in the top 10 or is in the top 10 in points gets an automatic start in the next race regardless of the number of athletes with guaranteed starts on the start list.
    What do you think?

    I’m just gonna say the way Alistair dealt with his penalty Vs the way Sam dealt with his penalty is eye opening. Sam was so kind and courteous towards the volunteer at the penalty tent. He’s truly able to turn on and off that competitive edge. He didn’t gripe about the penalty he just took it and kept moving. Alistair could learn a thing or two from that, wild how one of the greats and a two time Olympic gold medalist acts like that in front of fans.

    • @andrewwebber8313
      @andrewwebber8313 3 месяца назад +1

      Agreed, you should never be anything but friendly to the volunteer, but how they dealt with the situation also relates to how they are performing in their individual careers at the moment.....Sam is killing it and on the rise; and everything is falling apart for Alistar. No excuses thou.

      Easy to be nice when you’re racing easy! A bummer about Alistair, I feel like the illusion is a bit shattered for me.

      @triathlontimmy 3 месяца назад +4

      I'd probably be pissed as well. Haha. In his defense, in a post-race interview Alistair was pretty honest and level-headed about accepting that the penalty was deserved. I wouldn't blame him too much for getting emotional in the moment.

    Great recap as usual Travis.
    I understand you do not want to bite the hand that feeds you and so I will gladly be critical and point out the elephants in the room.
    The broadcast was okay but overall another failure. They blamed Miami on Nascar and stated this one would be better. The lack of data completely destroyed the viewing pleasure. They said it was the heat but the day before in the women’s race, even with lightning in the area, there were no issues. They were bragging that the data would be so good!
    PTO needs to enforce the rules for drafting. This was suppose to be a 20m draft zone race. The egregious drafting on the first few laps of the bike totally changed the dynamics and results. PTO is NOT draft legal. Not fair to the competitors or the fans. Jan even made a joke about it.

    In my opinion, I think losing the swim cap should be classified under littering and should have a penalty. It’s bad for the environment and gives the swimmer an advantage by shedding heat more easily.
