Doesn't the original setup act as a counter balance shaft as well? I can't imagine that bulky setup is simply just an oil pump drive. I know for a fact if not timed properly, it'll create excessive vibration at idle
Dude, I have an EK sedan (civic ex) manual, year 99', here in Brazil, and its soooo freakin expensive to upgrade anything. Even for this engine D16Y8, you gotta pay like.. 30k for a turbo kit
@@guilhermemarchi616 I think that USA has more options for car modding in a cheaper budget than some of the countries. For example, building an engine swapped car in India , where I am from, it's bit challenging and money consuming, so most of the people satisfy themselves with visual mods on the vehicle rather than engine mods. But there is engine swapped and modded cars here and there.
...a dinky little Honda 4 cylinder engine has a timing chain in it? I am honestly flabbergasted, I was under the impression that most small engines used belts to minimize parasitic loss, and in Honda's case to maximize efficiency and power, also used interference engine design.

Holy geeze that's a heck of a pump. I'm a H22 B/D guy so I've never seen a K pump that's quite the setup no wonder they are so robust.

@bendaga for engine stuff is not always a good option, its more like for body parts etc..

More reliable? Doubt it.
More powerful? Absolutely.
Because you remove engine balancer, there's always trade offs to pay.
