Hey Pod Man - thanks so much for the comment. I've a fairly big build series coming covering several improvements and an extension to the workshop. Plus a bunch of other ideas.
Hey Frank - I take it you mean half-circle cut out - yes that's certainly possible but I don't think all that necesssary. I noticed yesterday that my Benchdogs parallel guides have a similar scale and getting it bob-on to the mark is pretty easy.
Hey Kevin - there are links in the description for them from my website. I count myself as pretty lucky as I got my saw while Axminster were clearing craft stock out just before they changed the branding to workshop. I understand people have been frustrated with the availability - they're really in demand! The saw has been fantastic to own and for the first time I've not got the itch to upgrade.
@@StrawbyteWorkshop thanks,i realised you had them for sale and have just ordered one, this model saw is probably the only decent choice for small european workshops, im fed up struggling with the screaming dewalt 😄 although i love dewalts fence system, there are too many compromises if you want to do anything but rough work, just got my new upgraded cnc machine so its exciting times ahead, congrats on the success of your products, cheers.
I like the idea of these, easy to change if using different kerf blades, I wonder if can you adapt them to fit on the Axminster AP254TS Table Saw ? It has a proper biesemeyer fence. The measurement view finder is underneath the rail of the fence. You would have to see one to know if you can.
It's interesting you mention that saw as I had a comment following the instagram post with a similar thought. I'm going to spend time with a friend with that fence shortly, so I'll have something to think about.
I have a twin 8 Ft fluorescent light fitting above the table saw ,slightly offset from the centre of the saw, unfortunately the depth of the plastic indicator casts a shadow on the measure making it impossible to read the distance scale. I have gone back to the original lens.
I have had a couple of days messing about with the concept, I came to the conclusion that a clear plastic plate would do the job with a line marked across as a datum , but considering that the standard auxiliary fence is 110mm ,the plastic would have to be quite large and ungainly . I gave up after realising that whatever I tried was not better than the original fitting.
@@alan988 fair enough. It’s worth saying that Axminster have completely changed the fence on the new AT245TS (AP254TS) and has a clear rectangular scale pointer with a etched line as you indicated.
@@StrawbyteWorkshop Time is never wasted, you always learn something along the way. I also followed the link on the web site for the metal tape measure , unfortunately that tape is 19mm wide and the recess in the fence is 16.5 mm . that arrived today so another opportunity to try some lateral thinking .
If only the big tool companies were as innovative and responsive to customer feedback as you! Cheers Karl, great work
Couldn't agree more! I was glad I could help out.
Great video Karl nice to see you back again Thanks
Thanks for the comment John.
Great idea Karl 👍😁. That makes it so super easy to read measurements.
It really is! Thanks for the comment Suj, I hope everything is good your end.
Great to see you back. Excellent video too, and the clear and concise commentary places you head and shoulders above many on RUclips. Thank you.
.
Hi Nico. Thank-you for your kind words.
Just got around to fitting this to my TS216. Much much better than the terrible indicator that it comes with.
Hi Dean - I'm glad it's worked out well for you. I love mine and it makes eye-balling cuts a breeze.
Great to see you back doing video and designing solutions, watched Keith Browns vid last night
Thanks for the comment.
Good to see you’ll be back making videos again Karl, that’s a very neat solution, will check out Keith’s video later 👍.
Thanks. I can't tell you how please I am that you saw my video before Keith's!

Another home run from Karl.
Wonder if it would be feasible to inclide a round circle in the middle of the indicator to see the scale’s numbers.

id be interested in buying one if you make them to sell, hope to get my saw in a few weeks when they are back in stock, cheers

Evening Anthony - I'm motivated to do more and have a big project filmed which I'm hoping to get out soon. Thanks for the comment.

Sorry to hear the pointers didn’t workout for you. But thank you for sharing your experience.
