i placed my pre-order a few weeks ago when you did the first video that just told us that this pack existed. i was like "Oh Ginny's done a game supplement for D&D that is going to be available in shops! i must have it." even the fact that i live in the UK and soo had to pay international shipping didn't stop me.
I bought this today at the Fort Collins signing, and it was immediately useful! We were playing Shadowdark at the Haunted Games Cafe and one of the characters had an oracle background and a tarot deck as an item. We didn't have a tarot deck for them to get a reading on a creepy tower, but we used this deck and they drew the Arcane Allergy card. So the GM ruled they lost the ability to cast that day, but later found a magic item cause they started sneezing when they got close to it! Absolutely awesome product, with such cool inspirations for any game! Congrats again Ginny!
This sounds and looks like a fantastic tool for adding a little something extra to games! The setting I'm currently working on is going to start very low magic, and if the players choose to try to unlock the secrets of where the magic went, they can unlock more of it. The idea of getting random banes and boons as they get closer and closer to the truth makes me happy in a chaos gremlin way! Definitely gonna preorder once I get paid!
Wow! This really reminds me of (I truly do apologize I simply do not have the self-control not to say it) Pathfinder 2e's Divine Intercessions! The 20 most important deities in the setting, as well as 20 more less important ones, each got this fun mechanic in the system's original divine guidebook Gods & Magic and its web supplement. It's a pretty fun mechanic, where each deity has a list of boons and curses, minor to moderate, that they might hand out to people that are extremely dedicated to their worship or to pissing them off respectively. There's no direct rules for when and why to hand them out but there's guidance on what the deity specifically _might_ deem deeds or offenses great enough to reward or punish directly. It's an especially great system for pious PCs that aren't a religious class (Cleric, Champion, etc.) The intent behind the system isn't 1:1 the same, but the execution is very similar. I'm glad someone made something like it for 5e because lord knows that system needed it, and I'm even more glad it was Ginny!
I'm imagining many uses for this, such as a random-generator or sorts for supernatural gifts or curses, or a mechanic where a player can ask for "help" to receive a boon but risk a bane, or perhaps gain a bane in order to use it as a tool. Congrats on publishing this!
Looks like a fun product! definitely worth checking out. side note: All DnD 5E games need to include Na'Krasha's Axe as THE ultimate legendary Item! ngl.

Oooo I love this - it looks like a tarot deck I would love to have a Seer whose arcane focus is a tarot deck & before each quest they can either pull a card for the whole party to see how the mission will go or pull a card for one certain party member (most likely at the behest of the GM) to tell them something specific This comes out on my mom's birthday 🎉🎂
I love the idea these cards. As an avid 2e AD&D player (I got into it in 2016, I’m not like a veteran player or anything) these cards feel familiar to some of the 2e tools.
I have two kids. I can confirm babies are chaotic evil, with fingernails that can slice diamond. These sound SO cool! Perfect foe my wild magic pirate campaign!!!
I've only ever downloaded free content for DnD besides the official handbooks so this is the first third-party content I'm buying. I already pre-ordered because it sounds very versatile and honestly if you came up with it it has to be awesome! I was surprised that it was available at my local bookstore though I doubt they will stock it in the actual stores because it's in the 'foreign languages' section.
I've started a homebrew D&D world in the last few months which I'm planning (hoping) to be running campaigns in for a few years to come. This deck looks like it'll be a fun way to start throwing in some influence from the pantheon of gods further down the line, and some mischief from the fey realm and hell planes in the shorter term 😁
Pre-ordering the deck now, and saving me $150, in storage bins and throw pillows, at Target, is definitely a boon I will have to take into consideration.
Ginny, I’m so excited about this! It’s my goal to DM for the first time next year and I am really excited to incorporate this into my gameplay from the get go. Congrats on this huge accomplishment!
I pre-ordered SO FAST! This will be a wonderful gift to my GM boyfriend so he can boon or, let's be real, probably more likely to bane me with 😂 Ginny, you are awesome, so well-spoken, and your content is always so thought out! I love how you exemplified everything to inspire us! I'm so glad to be able to support you, even if only a tiny bit ❤
preordered love the idea .. starting a new campaign soon and once these cards arrive we might even be at a point where these might come in handy already, so great timing imho :)
Congrats on getting your book/deck published! It sounds pretty awesome. I've always liked using temporary boons to help parties handle really tough opponents and banes that require a quest to remove when they do something that is, shall we say, "ill advised." Player: "We've looted lots of tombs before. Why are we getting a bane for this one?!" DM (me): "Because this was the tomb of a major saint. He was blessed by his deity and performed dozens of miracles. Your religion checks told you all of this and I dropped several hints you felt uneasy as you were preparing to loot the sarcophagus."
I've had this book on a wish list for a while now and I can't wait to add it to my "Game Master's" collection (I already have the rest in the series.) :D

Shout out to the Canadians! Thank you for that. I have a bunch of those Game Master's books. If I do see these at Indigo i'll have to pick them up.
Just to let people know it's available to pre-order from Forbidden Planet or Blackwell's in the UK 👍
This looks like an excellent tool for a newbie DM. I think I'll order one off the Ginny store and see if I can bring tears to someone's eyes.
Tim Foley's art totally sold these to me. Plus, this is totally the kind of thing I would home brew, so I love the idea. Pre-order placed. Thanks Ginny.
I love these kinds of tools. I think this is a magnificent idea and I will be looking into picking it up. I am a long time (too long.. I'm getting old.. uhg) "forever" DM, so tools like this are always great to have. Thanks for all your work! Big fan of your content!
Congratulations I always enjoy seeing people I like from the RUclips community (most all of you lol) doing well. This looks fun and I have my Target preorder in, not because you brought them up but it's where I work so I get a discount😂. Also, keep the sword gag going it's awesome.
Thanks so much! Glad you worked that discount 🙌
(Don't you worry, I will 😅)
I'm equally surprised and delighted to see it's available in Germany! Will only get it two weeks later because they probably need to ship it over to Europe first, but I'm fine with that :)
I'm delighted to hear that too!! Where did you order it? 😊
Well it _is_ definitely available at the dark lords evil empire here (Amazon, if you dare saying its name), but also some local chains. Seems like overseas products start to gather sort of a following…
Oooo I love this - it looks like a tarot deck
I would love to have a Seer whose arcane focus is a tarot deck & before each quest they can either pull a card for the whole party to see how the mission will go or pull a card for one certain party member (most likely at the behest of the GM) to tell them something specific
This comes out on my mom's birthday 🎉🎂
Just ordered it. I’m looking forward to using this and I’m telling my DM friends about it now.
I love the idea these cards. As an avid 2e AD&D player (I got into it in 2016, I’m not like a veteran player or anything) these cards feel familiar to some of the 2e tools.
Already pre-ordered and can't wait to use this with my players!! Let's gooooooooooo Ginny Di!
This is such a good idea! I’ll be using this for fun plot hooks!
If I had the luxury of a D&D group to play with, I would definitely buy it to support you.
I love the “That’s why I carry a sword” bit
Because of you I had to create a Rock Bnad 4 band "Evil Immortal Snake Wizard" with my partners. I hope you're happy. Also preordered.
Congratulations! Thank you so much for your passion!
This sounds really cool and inspiring, exactly the kind of thing I'm going to need later in my campaign. Preordered!
I love tools like this! I think these will help take some of the creative stressors off of being a DM
Finally got a chance to grab it! Thanks and love from the UK!! 💚
I have added this to my amazon cart! Awesome idea for bringing some depth to a game!
The artwork looks amazing. I'd buy it for that alone! But I do like the concept as well. I'm sure they'll be fun to use.
I would just think of them as Karma Kards. Thank you, Ginny! This is brilliant! I love you even more now! 🥰
Pre-ordering the deck now, and saving me $150, in storage bins and throw pillows, at Target, is definitely a boon I will have to take into consideration.
I preorder this before knowing about your YT channel 😂 now Im double excited to get my deck soon 😍 Love your channel!!
Ginny, I’m so excited about this! It’s my goal to DM for the first time next year and I am really excited to incorporate this into my gameplay from the get go. Congrats on this huge accomplishment!
i can't believe ginny made a whole video advertising her own product
i'm so happy for her ☺
It would be pretty wild if it was willing to do it for other people's writing and not for my own 😜
You both inspire me and have made a decent product. All the best my homie!
congrats ginny! this is so cool and i will be getting my hands on it as soon as possible!!!
I LOVE ALL Ginny Di videos! Once again I humbly ask for more and different weapons to appear in future videos.
All these young musicians out there, and you keep taking up all the cool band names!
The power of an author can be impartial yet cruel.
That art has me hooked. Fantastic artist
I pre-ordered SO FAST! This will be a wonderful gift to my GM boyfriend so he can boon or, let's be real, probably more likely to bane me with 😂
Ginny, you are awesome, so well-spoken, and your content is always so thought out! I love how you exemplified everything to inspire us! I'm so glad to be able to support you, even if only a tiny bit ❤
Already preordered to Sweden. Yay! Will not come out here until NOVEMBER. Booo! Looking forward to it! Good luck with the sales Ginny!
Excited to hear it'll be i Sverige! 🥰🥰
I've become a big fan of your videos ^^ thank you so much for all the work you do.
preordered
love the idea .. starting a new campaign soon and once these cards arrive we might even be at a point where these might come in handy already, so great timing imho :)
Both my party’s are about to hit level 10 this is exactly what I have been looking for, at just the perfect time, SWEET!!!
Damn, that's such a good product, Ginny! Super creative and actually beautiful. Good luck on the sales!
Congrats on getting your book/deck published! It sounds pretty awesome. I've always liked using temporary boons to help parties handle really tough opponents and banes that require a quest to remove when they do something that is, shall we say, "ill advised."
Player: "We've looted lots of tombs before. Why are we getting a bane for this one?!"
DM (me): "Because this was the tomb of a major saint. He was blessed by his deity and performed dozens of miracles. Your religion checks told you all of this and I dropped several hints you felt uneasy as you were preparing to loot the sarcophagus."
Sounds like my group lol
I've had this book on a wish list for a while now and I can't wait to add it to my "Game Master's" collection (I already have the rest in the series.) :D
