  • In this video an in-depth review of the Ibanez AZS2209H using High Quality Audio and Video. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
First off the Ibanez AZS2209H comes with a newly designed single cut body shape.
The Ibanez AZS2209H comes with GOTOH® MAGNUM LOCK® machine heads, which have an established reputation for tuning stability.
The Oil-impregnated bone nut provides superior tuning stability and warm rich resonance.
The Ibanez AZS2209H features an AZ Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck.
The S-TECH special roasted treatment increases the wood's stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes.
The neck is sealed with an oil finish which helps make it feel similar to a well-played guitar neck.
The Ibanez AZS2209H features an S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple fretboard w/black dot inlay
The S-TECH special roasted treatment provides a superior attack and a well-balanced tone and a rich sustain.
In order to achieve supreme neck grip comfort, the fretboard edge is finished with a smooth curve.
The Ibanez AZS2209H comes with Seymour Duncan® Magic Touch-mini™ and Alnico II Pro™ Custom pickups.
This steel pickup plate is designed exclusively for AZS series.
This plate, in combination with the traditional style single coil bridge pickup, preserves this iconic ”Twangy” sound across the entire AZS lineup.
The dyna-MIX5 switching system with Alter Switch adds a sound variation to fit so many different kinds of playing style.
The AZS2209H has a “InTune” F1803 hard tail bridge newly designed by Gotoh and Ibanez.

Does anyone have experience comparing this to a traditional Tele? What do you think the tonal differences would be vs. a traditional Tele if you were to swap in the same pickups? Or acoustically, how do the two compare? Does one seem to have more snap, bite, attack, fuller bottom end, brighter top end, more mids, or any other noticeable differences compared to each other? I've been wanting traditional Tele tones but with an arm contour, and I have no idea if this guitar could get me there with a pickup swap. So far the only two options on the radar that might be able to accomplish this might be be this and the Kiesel Retro Solo.
The stock neck pickup seems to be lacking the traditional Tele mojo, which impacts the in middle position too.

I am a tele player who owns and really likes the tele tone of the azs. It plays so well, I marvel at how good it sounds. I usually find I don’t like the clean tone of fast guitars. But, this has its own tele tone that I think sounds like one flavor of tele. If it were not such an amazing player, I would like it for its tone.

Welcome back! Same old throaty Remy but minus the beard :) Sounds great and sounds even more versatile than the original AZ which to me was a little vanilla bland. This one sounds fun and different! Thanks for the review

It's funny how everybody says that the Body-shape is NEW, although it's the same as the FR Series, that run from 2008 to 2020 but was never succesful because it was treated as a "telecaster" rip-off from Ibanez.. so the AZS for me is like a newly designed FR but the "AZ treatment" (all the high-end specs that the original AZ has, but on a FR body)

    • @zoeherriot
      @zoeherriot 2 года назад +1

Many of the FR models had binding and a sharper edge. Or there was the modern look with the carved top contour - but this is more traditional, almost like it has strat style contouring with a tele shape. There are also differences the horn shape, and the way it joins the neck (not as sharp), and the back neck access carves are different. It's definitely a new body design.

@@jukruhar94 I guess it means what you mean by shape. Sure... it's similar directly face on looking at pictures, but in the hand it's clearly different.

First to demo the AZS on youtube. Congrats Remy!
Could you take some of the fuzz off and play classic riffs on the bridge pickup? Those alnico IIs are known for their vintage sound and it's hard to tell if they can do it.

Hey Matthew! Thank you man! I’m sure with the right tone dailed it you can get that Vintage sound! I can even hear how “ clean “ the PU are through the fully saturated sound! Anyway, go check em out when you can. Best, Remy

Wtf how can you hear the clarity and openess of the pickups when all you play is rock and distorted at first. Should be clean first because not all people like distorted sounds and that can turn off a lot of people

This demo is the soul reason I bought this glorious axe. Figures u have a mask on in your profile pic …. It arrived last night. Plays like a dream and is so light. I didn’t think I would like the pickups as much as I do but they are outstanding. Alnico 2’s usually don’t do it for me on a tele but these are great.
