A perfect speech. Word perfect, not read off a teleprompter. Humble yet aware of his own greatness. His mother. His father. Fountainbridge name checked, where it all began. A profound observation about learning to read and the quality of novels, scripts. An acknowledgement of the qualities admired in colleagues. An incredibly funny joke that only a person of great experience can deliver. Profound gratitude.
This song is dedicated to everyone who lost a loved one. God bless. "I'm calling out your name tonight" by Richie Levoi ruclips.net/video/JSbGGiSe3S8/видео.html
"....I got my big break, I learned to read, it's that simple and it's that profound". No truer words were ever said. Great, talented man, from beginning to the end. RIP Sir Sean Connery, you will be missed. Your shoes are too large to fill.
That Scottish sense of humour was always noticeable in Sean Connery, notice how all the audience are immersed intensely in what Sean has to say, true respect for a great actor. RIP Sean. 🙏👍🏴
We didn’t know we lacked anything, because we had nothing to compare it to… If only parents raised their children like that today. I loved Sean Connery.
There can be only one... James Bond, Joe Roberts, Juan Sanches Villa-Lobos Ramirez, Malone, Henry Jones Sr. and Marko Ramius - only to name a few of the roles he made immortal, one and only.
Awesome to see sir Sean Connery so real, raw and emotional here. It would be very sad if people just remembered him (wrongly) as some "misogynist" because he said some spicy things abouit women in an interview once. His wife obviously admired and adored him (and he her) and he seems like a good man (insofar as one can judge from a distance).
He was born in our great capital and raised in Fountainbridge. In 1930, 55yrs and 20 miles away, I was born. His upbringing was in an area that epitomised what (at that time) was to live with nothing of monetary means. Industrious and people of grit were second to none...Sean Connery dreamed bigger than just these absolute requirements as a Scotsman. He gave our country a gift, bigger than any award of gold or glamour. 70yrs on, I worked for an Investment Management Firm with Assets Under Management of Over $7 trillion.....a mere 1000 yards from where he grew up. On my lunchbreaks, I would take time to walk the same paths, understand what it was to have not only hopes, dreams....but to remember who made my great country what it is today. So...thank you Sir Sean, for being everything I aspire to be. Michael
In regards to the comments, wife beater, unapologetic, Poland, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Could someone please explain.? 🤔 Context is everything. Wondering if it's in reference to Nazi Germany and the invasion of Poland, also the Arnold Schwarzenegger connection, is that because his father was a Nazi..? Or do i just have it wrong.? Back to the start. What does that have to do with Sean Connery.? The one & only 007 James Bond
He talks .. You most definitely listen.. His presence commands respect its scary.. I was literally hanging on every word he said.. RIP Mr Bond .. No better Bond.. FACT .. Even a voice over for Dragonheart was sensational ..
It was a shame that the significance of his death was poorly reported and unpublished with little to no historical or cultural coverage & commentary on his Amazing career or Life.! As we all know too well, the whole World was Overshadowed by the covid Disaster & Complete Government Failures.!!😬😠 The names Bond, James Bond.😎 👍👍
He made a good point, I work in aged care and just recently i was talking to my 86 year old father. I said to him that things were much more difficult in his time, No he said "In his day it was the same for everyone so it wasn't hard because it was the same for everyone.
Ok, I know I'll get some scoffs, but my dad had similar features to Sir Sean Connery (mustache, bald head and tall, and a man's man). And I looked at pictures of Mr. Connery before he died, and with his mustache and glasses, he looked so much like what my dad would have I started to cry. My dad loved Mr. Connery and his movies. We watched The Rock, The Hunt for the Red October, The Untouchables, and my dad's favorite, The Man Who Would Be King. I was very sad to hear of his passing, though he got to live many more years than my father did. I hope he realized how loved he was by his fans and his family.
We didn't know that we lacked anything because we had nothing to compare it to.This is what people say when they are aware of their life and only their life. This is a statement that applies to almost all people on this Earth.
This was/is a real man's man. I love everything he ever did. I love this man so much I named my son after him 33 years ago. RIP Mr Connery, you are missed.
During the pandemic I find myself being drawn to his James Bond films. Just watched Thunderball for the very first time. I can't believe I never saw this Bond movie before now.
One gets the sense he knew things were changing as he aged.....as a Scot he was loved in his country and my only wish was he lived to see an independent Scotland

NOT the only, but the BEST 007
A gorgeous man, even in his old age! That twinkle in his eye indeed! The one and only Mr Bond! RIP Mr Connery.
For the last nearly 20 years, I've lived all of 2 minutes walk from where the man was born. A great talent, and a great loss :(

@@michaelgordon3552 exactly what I wanted to reply to the comment but you already gave the reply :)

Sean Connery was the true definition of Charisma.
I've always wondered if Sean Connery has seen Austin Powers. His reaction to Mike Myers tells me he did (and obviously liked it).
I love that moment between Sean aka James Bond and Mike Myers, Austin Powers himself
