  • I call this the "cross block". But just blocking isn't enough.
Today I show you the details of hooking the leg after double arm blocking and then sweeping your opponent's leg to a weak position where you can land the low kick. It works on pretty much all body level and head level round kicks.
Enjoy and if you found the tutorial beneficial please like, share and/or subscribe 🙏

I stand at roughly about 6'3 and definitely over 120kgs, but haven't really found a stance that feels natural/good for me lol i tend to revert to old boxing habits thus standing more in a boxers stance rather than a kickboxing/muay thai stance. I've seen this lots in kickboxing. And a similar counter in muay thai where they kick the back of an opponent that has missed a kick. I've always thought it would be more effective if your looking to deal damage, rather than score to return the kick to the fount of your now off balance opponent. I guess at a high level it would probably be blocked, but from that position the shin would be across both forearms and I would think it would cause a lot of damage.

You just need a bit of conditioning for your shins, then this becomes a really terrible idea for your friend. Its not an effective blocking strategy, shin bones can break an arm with the proper force. Add to that how hard it is to successfully position your elbow exactly where the kick lands every time, not a good thing to rely on.
