How do you remove stuck or hard to remove stubborn grip bushings

`Video did not help my situation. I turned the screws to remove the stock grips on a Colt Series 70 and the "bushings" came out with the screw in the grip. In other words how to I remove the bushings stuck on the screws in the grips without striping the threads on the bushings? The bushings are stuck on the screws that are in the grips...
I am thinking of buying new bushings and screws for the new grips I was going to put on the 1911...is that my only option?

I'm in your same situation. I decided to replace the screw and the bushing. Fortunately it was a rubber grip and i didn't have problems to remove everything from the grip.
