26 year A&P and private pilot. you just blew my mind with the soldering iron to make nice lines with the plastic protector ! love the videos and glad I've found your channel.

Thank you for the kind words! The plastic melting thing certainly wasn't my idea, apparently a lot of homebuilders do this and I learned it from them.

Thanks for the warning about the skin, I’ll make sure to do that step when I’m in a good mood relaxed mood already.

Great job changing up the camera angles. Your overall production quality is actually really good!

To pull the plastic off. Others have used a broom handle or round dowel. Makes it quick and les aggravating.

I've seen that but, frankly, just yanking it off by hand isn't too bad.

Thank you for documenting all this and posting the videos.
Did the skin came in pre-bend? Or did you bend that yourself based on plan/marks or some "jig" sized pipe/circle?

Great videos! Quick question: I noticed you switching between the air drill and cordless drill. I’m hoping to build largely using a cordless drill but wasn’t sure how realistic this might be. Any thoughts/recommendations? Keep up the great work!

You can do the whole thing with a cordless drill. If you go that route, I'd get one that's as lightweight as possible; you won't need a lot of power (you're not drilling through 2x4s or concrete) and when you are drilling through lots of stuff you feel the weight a little bit. Not much, but a little bit. I like the light weight of the air drill, plus it's pretty fast. But sometimes I'm drilling or reaming multiple hole sizes so it's nice to not have to switch bits, and that's when I usually use more than one drill. As an aside, I would see similar things in other videos when I was setting up my shop - why did the person use one tool vs the other? (E.g., using an air-grinder with a scotchbrite pad to debur the edge of skins or a small grinding wheel on a drill.) I've found that most of this resolves once you start going - you will grab and use whatever is convenient or suits your preference and that's what usually drives one approach or another when there are multiple ways of doing something.
