- A mother of 2 is raising awareness about her journey with leptomeningeal disease, a rare form of metastatic cancer which spread from her breast to the membranes surrounding her brain and spinal cord. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Dr. Nancy Lin, an expert in this type of cancer, says research is desperately needed and clinical trials will soon open specifically for patients with breast cancer with brain metastases and leptomeningeal metastases.

Any updates, for people living and trying to fight this disease, this post leaves a lot of info out. What type of breast cancer? What other drugs are being used. Two years in, what is happening now? It would be very helpful to have more details. As anyone knows with this, there is no many places to turn to get information.
Correct. Even I contacted the professions who can’t answer my questions. I have lived with this since 2015 but I’ve had a brain tumor disease and it went to meninges. There are roughly 12,000 ppl with Ependymoma and Even more rare lepto 🤷♀️ I have no idea
Which inhibitors is she taking?? Please post the name
Any progress?? I am Deff a candidate for clinical trial!
My daughter had triple negative breast cancer, the cancer cells went to the fluid of brain and spinal cord. She was having seizures , bad headaches, had a hard time walking. They tried radiation for it. She passed away about a few weeks after diagnosis.
My niece had the same type of breast cancer it spread to her brain then her spinal fluid. She lasted about 6 weeks. I’m sorry for your loss.
My mother lasted about 12 weeks in an intensive care unit before passing away. Her seizures disappered after the doctors gave her valproic acid. Doctors even told me theres no cure yet for this disease even chemo or radiotherapy. Palliative care is all they can offer.
My mom had the same type and condition.. she passed away.. the sad part is that the doctors told me that she's going to die and I couldn't do anything about it ... I pray to god daily that not even my enemies get this disease.
Is she still alive?
