The tv show is way better than the movies (I’ve only seen the three Anthony Hopkins movies) as far as the character of Hannibal I’d say both are excellent but still the shows version is better
As a horror fan I love hannibal and seen all his movies, and the first silence of the lambs movie, Anthony Hopkins in that movie is better than anything mads did with his Hannibal, but as a whole I'll say Mads takes it due to him having longer time period, although I do think it Anthony was chosen instead of mads, he would of done a better job.

I can't think of a Single Category Hopkins's Lecter takes.

Sure he's infinitely better than Gus and Homelander, but I think Johan, for example, is above him by a decent margin (like high diff). I'd say he's around Chuck level. Logan victim imo. His dynamic with Will is peak indeed. Probably the thing I like most about his character.
Hannibal in the series doesn't have as much depth. In the novels he is explored more and has more prominence. Hannibal in the series is still interesting, but he doesn't reach the level of the great protagonists like Tony Soprano, Don Draper, Bojack, Walter, Jimmy, Elliot, etc. Even rust cohle puts up a fight.

Plus I think you’re underrating just depth he’s a stoic and subtle character so he won’t have as much depth outwardly as those characters, but he definitely has a lot subtlety. Made pulls it off very well
