Hollywood actors want to get it decent enough on a technical level so they get paid for their work, and their ability to get more work increases. Actually, Betsy Braddock, aka Psylocke, is Captain Britain's twin sister, so she is British. In the comics her psyche is transferred into a sort deadly ninja body so that a risk of the Xmen could inflate them. She is treated as an enemy (cause she is in the enemy's body) and ends up killing the psycho in her body, forcing feet to keep the Japanese ninja one.

Difference of motivation. Fan actors want to nail the characterisation to pay homage to the character. Hollywood actors want to get it decent enough on a technical level so they get paid for their work, and their ability to get more work increases. Usually the former lacks acting ability in comparison to the latter, so you're more likely to get low-grade but passionate work from fans compared to high-grade but dispassionate work from actors. Sometimes you get overlap (like with Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool), and it works beautifully.
