Bro, I've been trying to turn these out for the last 20 minutes. I searched for another 20 minutes and with the 2 minutes of your video, I got them all out. Mine were burned in place haha
Hi Nick - great video! I would add one more step that helps a lot. Before inserting the screw driver, if you have a heat gun, heat the seal up for about 30s then insert the screwdriver and pry them out as per your video. They will literally pop right out.
you're the first result from a quick google search. and instead of using that wacky seal puller tool, a quick tap with a flathead and hammer did the trick! so im taking my time to give a thumbs up... Thanks!
it just rips. no matter what angle i try. I think mine are so old and worn the plastic wont stick together which explains the oil leaking. found a few rips when i first looked. maybe going to try a rubber dissolvant or something because i cannot pop them out like this. its into pieces now fml.
Only video I’ve been able to find that actually works!! Perfectly done and very quick and easy. Thank you so much!!
Thank you. The amount of prying I was doing felt like I was going to bend the aluminum lip. I appreciate this tip man 🙌
Thanks man. I was stuck for an hour and watched this and 2 minutes it came out ! Awesome

Lol like the many others, I was trying for quite a while to remove these dang things. I appreciate the video.
You just kept me sane, thank you
Awesome advice. I will be doing this to my 2012 Gmc acadia sometime this week. Thanks for the tip :)

A fair point! Emphasis on heat gun to anyone getting any bright ideas of using a blow torch (please don't lol)

Just worked! Thanks for posting this!
Very Helpful! Thanks
Nice!!! Great Job Brother!!! 😎
Life saver right here 😅👍🏽
Awesome, thank you !
Since you are getting rid of them could you just use that sharp needle point tool and poke it into the rubber and pry it out?
I tried to do that, those suckers were stuck in there good! It needed a bit more leverage that this trick was able to supply.
It is better to use a pair of side cutters, grab the site in rule it out there is a notch, or you can grab the seal and roll it out no banging
Is that a d17 motor valve cover?

Yeah this damaged the metal and bent the metal support ring.
