This is the first time I have seen Deller since he won the world title. SERIOUSLY. I was in Manchester the night he won it and was so shocked he beat Bristow. GOD BLESS ERIC. Those were the glory days of darts . . . Leighton Rees, Jocky, Lowe, Bristow and Alan Evans. Cannot believe most of them are now dead. This is around the time Higgins won the Snooker world title. Wish I could go back to those days.

I love the informal interviews like this. Get to know the real people without BS. I've loved watching darts over the years, i don't go searching for it, but when i find it as a thumbnail and decide to watch it it's fantastic. The atmosphere, the beer, the cheering. I personally think Phil Taylor is one of the best 'sportsmen' ever. His hand eye coordination is ninja like, as RVG. I know they have pot bellies, but their hand eye coordination is absolutely phenomenal.

There are, in my opinion, some interesting facts about Deller: He's the first player to do a 100+ average in the World Championship (interestingly, also perhaps, he lost the match to John Lowe); he was the opponent of Lowe in the first televised 9 dart finish; he had/ has the record for the fastest 301 leg; he was Adrian Lewis's manager; as mentioned here, he's a great spotter (a spotter has to have amazing Darts knowledge); he was the guest Darts player on Bullseye when murderer John Cooper was a contestant and I think his spring-loaded darts and the use of chalk are quite unusual too.
