      @winniethepoohxi1896 2 года назад

      @@jengalayla8597 I think its pretty clear this was not like freshly killed sashimi. This is an intentional and desired presentation to keep the animal alive while serving. Plenty of other examples. Eating live squid/live octopus/deepfrying a fish only up to the head. Butchering and eating sections off larger animals like donkey before they die. Something about freshness I guess or maybe some deep seeded sense of sadism. Common in some cultures. Certainly not okay just because it's normal. A very cruel practice indeed. I think many countries still don't think animals have a sentient experience capable of pain/consciousness/emotions etc and so things like this don't evoke any sense of being disturbed, sympathy for suffering, or guilt which is crazy to me because it seems extremely intuitive and primal to identify with the movements, sights, and sounds of an animal in pain. Humans go through some crazy mental gymnastics to resolve their cognitive dissonance.

    Hello, Hiro-san! I've been watching your channel for a long time now, and just wanted to say you're an extremely talented person. Your skill with the knife, how you cook, the final products, and especially how bubbly and inviting you always are. And, of course, your cameraman friend deserves respect for his jokes and the ability to make these videos in such good quality! Thank you both for sharing this wonderful video and many others, I can't wait to see what else you two do!

    You would think seafood prices would be cheap in Japan since they have the source right there...

      Seafood is cheap. Where are you from? I’m sure that the sashimi in Japan is cheaper than the sashimi in America. The lobster is expensive sure, but it’s probably still cheaper to find it here then somewhere else

    Honestly, it doesn't bother me. Not that I'm a psychopath or anything, but I've watched National Geographic too many times that I understand eating is natural, regardless of ethics, except for cannibalism. For some reason, Nature even minimize cannibalism.

      Thank you for your comment. Most people don’t have idea of how it’s done in nature. But shows like the one you watch is very interesting.

    Wow. What that guy did to remove the raw flesh so cleanly from that lobster is a demonstration of what years of patience and practice can achieve. It was like art. Most will never understand how difficult that is to do.
