Tried to explain to a manager today that I use to make Burritos for McDonald's and I remembered when they were first introduced....she commenced to tell me they have never been made that way......she had been working there for 16 years.....I told her of course she don't remember because McDonald's went on the cheap about 20 years ago.....When first introduced we would Grill sausage crumbles in a large egg scramble ring ...after cooking the sausage well done we would add onions and green Chilli's then add eggs ( Eggs Beaters liguid like product ) after that some Black Pepper and then diced tomatoes....and scrambled all up.....dished into an insert and we rolled our Burrito's when ordered...with a half slice of Cheese and 2-3 oz of filling......They were awesome tassting back then.... Today with the "Pre-Mixed" version....there is only a little sausage, and maybe some green chilli's and "re-heated" Frozen eggs and cheese ...no tomatoes... no Black Pepper - (it may be that those things are suppose to be added, but knowing the Regional Store Director / Manager.... and how franchisee's like to keep food cost down.... they may not ensure those items are put into the product anymore....anyway ..the burritos are not the same....here is the commercial introducing the McDonald's Breakfast Burrito in 1991.....
