I think Mojang patched the hopper and chest trick in the Nether. Piggies should still get mad at you if you use a hopper, no? Pigs are actually quite useful. Pork Chops are one of the best food sources in the game and you can ride them. They are pretty fast too. It would be funny if someone used a pig exclusively for their mount instead of a horse or donkey. Using rotten flesh is pretty inhumane if you consider villagers to be humans. Cause then you can get rotten flesh from villagers. And we all know what rotten flesh is. But rotten flesh can already be used as a food source and to trade with clerics. It's pretty useful for the early game.
