I have been using this camera for almost a year now as a back up for my SJ6 legend. One thing I can suggest to achieve perfect stability is to mount this action camera on a three axis mechanical gimbal, enable the EIS and disable the LDC. If both EIS and LDC are enabled, they cause some sort of wobbling or warping on the footage. This camera is not perfect but is good enough for vlogging. Fish eye effect is quite noticeable but that can be removed by using Lens distortion correction effect on premiere pro.
Yeah, that's what sets Yi cameras apart from the rest, that touch screen. Much easier to navigate thru menus with the touch screen vs the buttons on all other ones

Are you using a gimble when doing walking test with eis at 60fps? Very smooth. But would like to see without your gimble to see true stabilisation of the camera.
I would like to add that this camera does not have a setting to flip the recording around 180' if you have the camera mounted upside down on a go pro bicycle mount or droid. I spoke with their support team and they didnt seem to keen on adding said feature so i ended up returning mine to amazon. Ive been told that this feature is supported for the first gen Yi cameras. While I had time to play with and have a look at the camera, it did feel very well made. touch screen made navigation pretty easy and the recording quality i good providing you can it at its lowest price on promo or lightning deal on amazon which is how I picked mine up. Unfortunately I experienced a bit of a language barrier with their customer support team when looking for the setting to flip the recording 180'
That effed me up also, wrote to their customer support and got the reply that it "should" be implemented in some future firmware version, but of course, nothing happened to this day, and that was 4 months ago. So I'm giving up on Yi Lite and going to Mijia 4k. Better resolutions & framerates, better EIS, better mic, better nighttime video, better build quality and battery life. The only thing better on Yi is the screen, and that is not enough. Bye Yi!
that's the exact same response i got, but I got to that after Customer support had given me instructions for the wrong camera. the Mijia 4k costs more than the Yi Lite though but I dont think other Yi 4k cameras have this flip recording feature.
I remember seeing in some video that the Yi 4k+ has this "rotate" function in menus... After reading in few places about how good their customer support is (also concerning firmware update), I can say that it sure doesn't seem like it is. They don't care. Mijia 4k is really not much more expensive, can be found nowadays for $100-$110
I orderd it , will you be reviewing dashcams I have the Togaurd 1080P the app is not so good you have to down load to watch what you have recorded,the A77 you don’t have to down load to watch play back.

hmmm... the Mijia 4k doesn't have EIS for 4K recordings but it does for 1080p 30fps... the video quality is pretty similar for 1080P... i would get whatever you can find cheaper

Honestly and still I think this camera has the best mic for the price. Only wish is if it could run on an external power pack for long shootings and then if the Crazy Yi would not remove the cellphone app for his camera that is a big big shame as to why they don't want to support it anymore!
Which one do you think provides better video quality. Yi lite vs Mijia mini 4k? Because I guess mijia mini provides 100bits/second not sure about the Yi though. I have heard that higher bitrate gives better video results. So which one do you think? (Please respond soon coz I am going to buy tomorrow in Chinese sale 😁)
They're at different price points, but I opted for the Yi Lite over the Mijia, and with a CPL filter added, I love it. Can't go wrong with a YI Lite, CPL filter, Bluetooth selfie stick, waterproof adjustable stick with tripod, and YI carrying case together for the same price it would cost to buy the Mijia 4k.

Sometimes I plan on recording inside some sporting events and on those, I don't really need the wide-angle prospective. Thanks. Love your channel.
Does this camera cause a fish eye effect or am I seeing things? Also would you recommend this or the onreal 4k action cam to record a podcast indoors? I will use separate mics to record audio so that really isn't an issue

Evzen Pour New firmware has rolled out for that Mijia which gives it the capability for 1080p 60fps with EIS.

I use Final Cut Pro X. But the SJ7 can do 4K 30fps and with a gimbal that could be useful...but that camera is way more expensive

the video quality is very similar. If you don't care about the 4k/30fps, get whatever you can find cheaper

Play with the ISO setting. It's also great for making low light footage look much better.

it does cause a bit of a fish eye effect. Did you look into other cameras like the sjcam sj7 star or thieye t5e?
is there the option to change the view angle?
We only get a lens distortion correction setting

Try formatting the SD Card from the camera's menu and see if it works after. If not I would try a different SD Card. (class 10 required)
Should be called Yi Action and when you open it press the little camera at the bottom of the screen and select your camera model
