Its a masterpiece. Worth watching. Beautiful visuals, great songs, mesmerizing Urdu dialogues and fervour of Indian nationalism. Manisha Koirala & Aditi Rao Hydari are the best!❤❤❤🇮🇳

I didn't understand why most reviewers don't like this series. I Love this more than bansali movies, this series is outstanding. I thinks they are in the race to upload the view fast so they watch the series in hustle for the sake of review. Thats why youtube reviewers dont liked it.

drama, costume, cinematography everything top-notch. Just one place where I got disappointed was Sharmin Segal particularly. her role could have been better with someone else
I like the series, acting of all casts, sets, direction, cinematography etc. but I think some chaska of SLB was missing.. overall 3/5

Ridhima, you should watch "RajKahini" by Srijit Mukherjee later remake in Hindi directed by Srijit Mukherjee himself too( protagonist was Vidya Balan ) but though I will suggest to watch the original Bengali movie first ❤ I am sure it will amaze you .

A few interesting stuff that caught my eyes are...
•every tawaiyaf wears a specific shade as per the situation.
•every tawaiyaf in the series has their own struggle and own problem and all of them have their nathni designed uniquely which certainly shows their different struggle and perspectives and responsibilities.
• Manisha mostly wearing darker shade while her stay in Heeramandi as her role in shaping the decisions are very grey . On the contrary outside Heeramandi she wears lighter and more attractive shades as she has a status in front of the royals and even Britishers.
•diamond or other previous stone jwellery were show as chain neckless or ring signifying the sole hold of the tawaiyaf over Heeramandi

Actually the series is overall good but many of the reviewers are hating on this show some scenes are really very good but but sharmin sehgal was very bad i didn't like her acting she had same expressions throughout.
Yeah. Not the best amongst all. She just looked pretty. Also the whole love story was a total waste according to me.

Kaun dekhte bro aajkal gangsters ki movie bhi? Ye sab pahle bevkoof bana le jate the film makers once upon a time 2, Hasina Parker etc in movies or log thukne bhi nahi gaye makers loss kha ke baithe hain kisi bhi subject ko overuse nahi karna chahie.

Haan. Tawaif ki filmo ka apna alag andaaz aur khoobsurati hai. Aur inme se kuch real life Tawaifs ne desh ke liye apni jaan tak qurbaan ki hai (Azizan Baai etc). To waqai, aisi filme aur series banne bhi chahiye aur unhe apnaya bhi jaana chahiye!

I mean I was so happy when I got to know Fareeda ji is also in this series when I watched the trailer. Man She had been the part of so many iconic movies and TV shows during 90s and early 2000s And I was also delighted that Manisha Koirala made her comeback and Ridhima Didi If you know She is the OG Bhansali heroine and is in the top 3 best Bhansali heroine definetly along with Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit But in my opinion Bhansali should make something different now I am fed up of his habit of glorifying tawaifs all the time

Fareeda Ji had been a part of the childhood of every 90s kid. Her loving naani image is still very much alive in our minds. And who can forget her role in Shararat serial.
As for Tawaifs, we should be welcoming for those movies which shed light on their contribution in the freedom struggle, a theme that's not fully done justice to as of yet.
Heeramandi rn is a place no one dare enter and walk around most of it has been converted into a food street

Heeramandi is a masterpiece
This series was terrible, was extremely painful to watch so couldn’t do beyond 3rd episode( that too after forwarding most of it) very disappointing!!!
But brother, the visuals, Urdu dialogues & classical songs were quite promising though! And Manisha & Aditi's acting was superb too. Not that disappointing. However I agree that story could've been better.

It was all good and okkay but the only thing i would say alamzeb's casting could be better her character were good written but she was flat overall her love story could be better if she acted well thah shah acted well but because of her love story looked boring

Yeah, I've heard that he lived close to red light area. Tawaifs are truly interesting in many aspects though- art, culture, manners, dance, poetry, aesthetics, elitism and of course the freedom struggle. They're to some extent parallel to Geisha of Japan.

Tbh I didn’t enjoy this series. Being Sanjay leela bhansali’s project I expected alot. Even his casting was not upto the mark. I dont think 8 episodes were required. But some of the characters were really strong. Even the dance was not so graceful. I mean we have seen deepika , aishwarya and alia. Overall you can skip few of the scenes and watch it single time.
