a couple other things since i dont think you go over them in the video there is a 0E value, it does not just skip from 0D to 0F, this means there are 32 values total before a loop rather than 30 setting a vivosaur to 00, 20, 40, etc. will give you a vivosaur with the original vivosaurs colors, however it will ignore any RGB values applied to it. essentially giving you a default vivosaur even with red green and blue settings modified. the default red green and blue values are 0C, 19, 32, respectively, and the default coloration is 86 before any silver fossils are applied setting the rgb values to be all 0s will result in a fully black vivosaur with no texture whatsoever, and the reverse will be true for setting them all to FF the rgb values dont loop like the normal values, I have a feeling they are percentages in some way, whatever the case you can set them anywhere from 00 to FF to get different amounts of a specific color. also, expect some pretty wild colors from messing with RGB values, they barely get touched in game, most of the vivosaurs simply just change pallets and call it a day. thats it, just wanted to add a few things of my own for anyone who was curious of more specific details.
do you know where the hexadecimal value is to change the name of the character? I'd like to be able to change my characters name without needed to replay my save file.
My only question is how to get distinctive colors on different parts of the textures when messing with the RGB values, like in the thumbnail? Being able to get contrasting colors like that white body with red stripes seems awesome but just changing the one line of RBG is going to try and change the entire skin to be the same color
You kind of have to mess with it until you get the right balance of values to get what you want. Choosing a color palette and then editing that makes it easier for me in my experience. I’m not too experienced at messing with the RGB values, but I know Nigo Man is and he has some absolutely insane recolors.
@@surrealdestroyer854 I hadn't even thought to try looking up color pallets first, silly me. I'll try that and if not then I'll try to get some help from Nigo Man if they're willing
I do apologize if this question has been answered on another platform, but given how you can change the colors using the memory, would it be possible to change the location in which fossils can be dug up? Or is that something that is hard-coded into the game?
Currently we do not know how to do that. That seems like something that’s more coded in, and people in the Discord server have been trying to crack this game for YEARS. This game is oddly insanely well encrypted so we haven’t been able to dig through all the code just yet, though we have made some (very small) progress over the years. This is why no ROMHacks exist of this game, as we simply do not have the ability to edit the game that deeply.

This is so cool!!!! Crazy to think how this game had so many secrets that were hidden for over a decade (maybe with more to come)
There's going to be a whole lot of purple!
Extremely interesting and great vid, I love under the hood stuff like this!
Had no idea this was even possible. Super awesome! :)

Unfortunately no, I do not know where that is off the top of my head. :(
can't you go to the ribular town fossil guild to change the player name
Time to customize Lexo

@@surrealdestroyer854 Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for answering my question.
You used cheats to get all vivosaurs right?
I have a 100% complete save file yes.
wow, finally an advancement in the codebreaking of FFC, one step closer to ROM hacks!
How many colors you can choose on each vivosaur?
When it comes to color pallets, it’s about 28. But of course you can mess with the RGB values to get some more crazy colorations.
@@surrealdestroyer854 let's goo that's epic
@@surrealdestroyer854 where we can download this version?
