OK when you poured out a bunch of fans, I'm pretty sure I had a few choice words. But when you snapped the three fans together like that I was like hold the friggin boat. Now that was impressive. I also second the motion, please make a 140 variant. Thanx for sharing that Jay, gotta get me some of those.

I was so annoyed at the possibility of having to buy Corsair's over-complicated solution for my new build. Couldn't understand why there wasn't a modular solution available, then this happened. These will go nicely in my Lian Li O11. Never been so excited about fans in my life
Lian li announced basically the same at CES ...
They are stupidly expensive here though, £40ea. Going to see if my wife can get some from Taiwan hehehe.

Literally spent 3 hrs trying to cable manage my Corsair rgb case today. 😂😂😂(😭😭😭)
I'm about to do that....not looking forward to it. >.< Can't Corsair just make a proprietary plug that handles both power and rgb already?
I regret buying Corsair
I use Corsair RGB CPU water block... and bought a cable from EBAY that went from their plug, to my MB, and boom, no stupid controller needed and can control it with the MB.

These fans are useless. The hub works only when it feels like it and the software to control them is beyond garbage. bugs out works when it wants to etc. You can forget about controlling the rgb through your motherboard as well. Proprietary fans like these that force you to use their hardware and software yet again prove to be horrible. Shame because it's a great idea.

Jay to Lian Li: Did we just become best friends?
Lian Li: Yeap!
It's good for Lian Li. Jay just may have made a new customer from me with those fans and looking at the comments I'm not the only one. I bet corsairs team is like "write that down, how do we copy this and get past their patents"
The only question now that needs answering is which one of them is Dragon and which one is Nighthawk...?
This is going to be huge for Lian Li, but I hope Corsair takes some inspiration and fixes their fans to be more cable friendly and combine their fan and rgb hubs. That would be amazing since their RGB fans look better IMO

A performance version with a better bearing, and higher RPM would be interesting. Although I would like to see the fans Noctua and EVGA have in the pipeline before buying these.
Noctua never went for aesthetics tbh, but it'd be interesting if they do in a similar way.
Thought this was a time for graphics and power, but looks like it's an exciting time for fans as well lol. These look pretty good to me and will match my next build like they were made for it so EVGA and Noctua would almost need to steal everything about this and make it better for me to get it.
I'm 100% with you. If a performance line with better Bearings launch they have at least one customer in their bag for sure.
Higher RPM? Did you not see the amount of air they were pushing through that rad? If you need higher RPMs for temps then idk man, you prob shouldn't have a computer in hell

I would love these in my next setup though.
I've been pushing off building a new computer for years, my current workstation is 7 years old and the fans are dying, video card is starting to go, some of my harddrives had failed and had to be replaced, et cetera.
But the longer I keep putting it off, the more worthwhile it seems because stuff like this, or the 30 series of GPUs, or AMD's exciting new Bike. All these innovations keep coming out and blowing my mind, even if they seem obvious in hindsight.
You can use that AMD bike to go for a ride around town while your slow a"#$% Intel PC TRIES to render :^)

@@arthurmoore9488 Hey thanks for replying. It definitely is a JST connector which are pretty common in the model car/plane/drone space and are starting to appear more in 3D Printers. It's nothing special and as you said, wouldn't be hard to buy (or make) an adapter.
Its more the challenge of working out if there are any resistors set up for device identification, etc like how NZXT has their Hue/Hue 2 Strips and fans configured.
I mean technically if you just accept the controller is there it works with anything using a standard DRGB connector.
actually its a JST SM 3-pin

Why do you need so many fans? I'm curious.... i have 3 Fans in my case, 2 in the front (push) and 1 in the back (pull) and my temps are perfectly fine. Is it just for the look?
@@Mark-oy8pf Depends on what are you having inside. A very potent graphical workstation would need at least 2 360 radiators, which is 6 fans already. More with multi GPU config. You also need constant airflow on CPU section of MB to keep its temp reasonable. Lets say 2 more (1 top, 1 back). And if you also want to have quiet you use more fans but on lower rpms to get the same airflow, but much quieter.
Now funny part. You install all of these, fans are super quiet and, after short time, GPU power section starts to make noise :D

Step in right direction, (nice look, nice RGB).
Still:
- Where is connector that you can chain these together with offset (2 on radiator + 1 on case)?
- Why have 2 cables coming out when it is still going to the same controller with cables going next to each other? Why not having it as 1 cable?
- Having better bearing as more expensive option would be nice
Awesome vid Jay, by the way, where's my Ryzen Power Profiles vid Jay?
11:38 You are confusing fluid dynamic with sleeve bearings. The rest of the review was great though!
Wasnt Fluid Dynamic some of the best fans before Maglev (however you spell it) fans started coming to market
This! Sleeve fans were like those cheap crappy coolermaster r4 fans that would only run vertically if you wanted them to last.
That's what I thought too, fluid dynamic are only inferior to maglev, in theory anyway.
I was wondering about this too.
> Fluid-dynamic fan bearings have the greatest lifespan
www.gamersnexus.net/guides/779-computer-case-fan-bearing-differences
THIRDED, or something... Fifth'd? Point is: I've been doing tech analysis for a decade for an SI, and it's the sleeve bearings that have been the cheap garbage. Fluid-dynamic, or hydro-dynamic, or "Rifle" bearings, or any of various brand-names for the tech, have been the quietest by far, and lived the longest this side of a dual-ball. (But true ball-bearing fans are noisy, mostly meant for industrial installations where noise is no object, but longevity is king.) Jay, you brought this up twice, and made me cringe both times! XD
Also yes on the 140mm, PLZ!
When you said the box was from Lian Li I thought "what have they got going on that's worth getting excited about, and would fit in that box?"
Been looking forward to these for so long now - CES 2019 I think was their first appearance but Roman had a good look at them at CES this year - that I'd thought they were never coming to market.
Now they're here, my ML120 Pro RGBs are getting a bit nervous ;-) Currently have 3x on the side of my O11D, with 3 more on a rad at the bottom.
I'm glad to see that they have their own controller, and that it integrates both RGB and fan control so you don't have to buy another controller to use it fully.
+1 for 140mm, then I could have them on the top rad too.
Jay: "So many RGB UI's are overengineered"
Me: "Isn't the whole RGB thing just an overengineered indicator LED?"
Over engineered implies its not necessary. WS2812's are super necessary for any build. People can't rip your FPS if you force them in to a seizure.
isn't the whole rgb thing increases RAM?
Finally the daisy chain fans, I've been waiting for Jay to review them.
