Love the content! Have been watching since baby squat days and fun fact the 14-18 gm trucks do actually show v4 to v8 mode and its at the bottom of the fuel economy screen, just an icon that goes from a green v4 and changes to a blue v8. Would love to see that generation truck back on the channel in the future! Personally have a 17’ Sierra myself!
Hey brotha, just wanna say I watched you for a while and recently bought a 08 Sierra Vmax and was so stoked to see you get the same one and what you’ve done to it. Keep postin this puppy, she’s a Beaut!
My 2016 4.3 has AFM. I have 63,000 miles and still running great. You don't hear much about AFM problems with the v6's but mines still doing great. Only way I know it's switching is either I see it on the dash, or I can hear it in the exhaust since I have an MBRP Catback.
I have a 07 max, luckily had the delete done before I bought it. Trans went out in it and I put a built trans in it, that should hold up to 500hp. I have very pleased with it. Shift hard and feels great, good power.
I had a range afm disabler before and it worked great. Only reason I got rid of it is because I got a good deal on a superchips tuner that allows me to turn off afm and a lot more. But they work great if you only want to turn off afm.
I put a AFM Disabler on my truck 2011 Silverado 1500 5.3, made my trans clunk when down shifting and when i would step on the gas right after letting off. Took it off and it stopped doing it. The TCM is not tuned for the torque of having v8 mode on all the time.
I have a 2017 Silverado I bought used with 46,000 mi the first thing I did was install the range technologies AFM delete module. That was over two years and over 20,000 miles ago not an issue. Go figure they come out with a cheaper option! Lol
I use to have a 2015 silvvwrado. I had a diablo tuner on it. I'll mail it to you if you could somehow use it. You can use to to deactivate afm, read codes, and do tunes
@@werewolfdude776the 5.3 and 6.0 had AFM but the 4.3, 4.8 and 6.2 didn’t until 14’ if I remember correctly. I don’t believe the 2500s had AFM in the 6.0 though
My neighbor had a GMC and a guy I worked with had a Chevy 6.0 and they both had to buy new motors because of AFM. It makes the lifters stick or something. Causing the engine to starve for oil.
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Got rid of my 2017 5.3L because of the AFM. Traded it in for a 2016 2500HD with the 6.0L (Absolutely NO afm or dod). I didn’t think the 6.0 had afm whatsoever, must just be a 1500 half ton deal.
Looking for a option for my 2022 6.2 rst it just got to 50k miles and needs the engine replaced. I was looking at the pulsar lt but am worried about voiding my warranty
The Pulsar won't effect your warranty, you can just remove before dealer maintenance. If you don't need the extra features of the Pulsar, this little $80 plug and play is a better option. I've ran the Pulsar on my '21 6.2 since day 1, it's been great.
I just checked and you are correct GMT-900 6.2L pickups didn't have AFM. Nor does my 2009 silverado 2500hd with the 6.0l same for all the 2500 vans with the 6.0l
I got one same victory red color same year ext cab short bed V8 with 91k original miles I treat that truck like gold.
That’s sick!

actually a good laptop tune for these trucks run $200. gets lots more than that range
A color matched ltz split grill would look so good on that.

Switching from V8 to V4 mode has to also be hard on a transmission you would think. 🤔
I got my Range on craigslist for like $50. Came off a 2017 but still worked on my 08

ANOTHER VMAX VIDEO LETTTTSSSS GOOOOO 💪🤘

I love all ur videos and I wish I had big Betty lift and set up on my 2010 chevy tahoe ❤
I think you should look into getting yourself an hptuners mpvi3 . with the amount of domestic trucks you have, would totally be worth it.
I use to have a 2015 silvvwrado. I had a diablo tuner on it. I'll mail it to you if you could somehow use it. You can use to to deactivate afm, read codes, and do tunes
Well that was an easy fix. Thanks for the tips mwcustom tailights???
I got the afm disabler on my 2014 Denali for about 6 months no problems
I didn’t think the 6.0 or 6.2 had afm or dfm until 2014
The newer 6.2 in the 900s have afm
I think you’re right cus the 4.8s don’t

Are you going tint the windows
Get a cam on it so you can get the full power and not wait till 3,000 rmp to feel the power
Can you not disable afm with your tuner on there? My edge does it for me.

I have 2012 Tahoe Z71 and I used my superchip programmer to turn it off
doesnt the diablo tuner has the option to turn off afm?
Wont the diablo tuner disable it also
Yeah
I love ur vidssss

You should really look into a HP tuner program for yourself it will save a lot of money and time later on down the road with the Chevys
Fyi I got my OBD2 port AFM delete chip for $55 bucks on Amazon and it’s fine amazing for quite awhile now 🤷🏻♂️
Next mod some sportsman camo seat covers

VortecMax is AFM?

It may keep it from going into 4 cylinder mode but it does not prolong the life of your truck at all.
Wrong
You know you can turn that off with the diablo sport tuner
I have a 2010 chevy tahoe does mine have this
Yes
It's called a disabler? Correct
neat
Just here to say put the whipple on shorty not this truck
Bro you have a tuner why dont you just disable it through there
6.0 don't have afm
