So proud of Calvin, sitting’ in with some of the best of the best- and slaying it as always!! I get to play music with this man regularly up here in the GWN ( great white North .. only there’s been no snow to speak of this winter yet- strange year. Everyone’s solo’s were marvellous ( Vince the Prince was sublime as always, and love that pedal steel man , holy Curly Chalker can he play! ) Thank you for this musical gem gents- Merry Christmas!
It's possible that both Kenny Sears and Joe Spivey know who Calvin is - but maybe not anyone else in the room.. After consistently winning the same top Canadian fiddle challenges and championships - over and over, again - he was stopped from competing, and could only continue involvement as a judge and mentor . . . Up North, here, our Calvin is a bit of a living legend - having been the Grand North American Champion in 1988 (at least). Great to see him sitting in with The Time Jumpers !!
You made good use of it. Is that Larry Franklin? Back in the 70s in Ft Worth TX we used to go jam with Major & Louis Franklin, TX Shorty, Benny Thomasson, the Solomon Brothers, Dale Morris, and my favorite the late Terry Morris. They would try and show us everything they knew. Never got close to that level but had a blast. Love your playing. Merry Christmas sir.
Oh man Calvin you killed it! Way to go! Those guys are the cream and you rose to the top!
