  • Behold, as I explain how I was first exposed to the series, what got me drawn to it, and how its quality started to change as the years went by. It obviously still holds a place in my heart since I took the time to make this.
This video was created in March 2015. However, I had lost some video footage, and felt pretty hesistant to do it again, also because I was too lazy.
Yes, I am aware of the Naruto mini series has started and so far its just feels like I'm watching a soap opera. 'IS SHE THE MOTHER? LETS FIND OUT?' So far, not too impressed, but these are early chapters, it may pick up later on.
UPDATE So the mini series is over..lol thought it kinda sucked. The 'twist' was pretty predictable. As a character, I actually like Sarada, shes pretty cool. I never get tired of seeing Naruto and sasuke do their thing. I disliked these enemies they had to deal with. They just never felt like a threat. Not one bit. Was hoping to see more of the ninja world like the samurais, and update on the rain village ever since the disappearance of pain, perhaps more info on how Hidan's religious jutsu works? lol i dunno. But instead it was limited to team 7, kid 1, kid 2 and enemies.
Perhaps the Boruto movie will expand more on the world. (Which I am not holding my breath for.) UPDATE It was good.
    SONGS USED:
    Distance - Long Shot Party
    Youth's Rhapsody - Sambomaster
Haruka Kanata - Asian Kung Fu Generation
    GO!!! - FLOW
Kanashimi Wo Yasahisa Ni - Little by Little

Remember when Rinnegans consider rare in this series? haha. Now every villain fucking has it. The Boruto Movie villains have Rinnegans in their palm. The next villains are going to have Rinnegans on their balls. Yes the Fourth Great Ninja War got me mad hype. And then destroyed it.

gh gh Exactly. Especially about the Nine Tails. People say he trained for all his abilities and jesus powers but he literally gained them from purely being the jinchuuriki and a "Child of Prophecy".

gh gh Everything he has ever gained in terms of powerups practically all goes back to the Nine Tails being sealed inside of him.
Shadow Clones - Due to having large chakra reserves from Nine Tails.
Rasengan - Use of Shadow Clones and can spam them due to large chakra reserves from Nine Tails
Rasenshuriken - Learn to put chakra nature into Rasengan through Shadow Clones due to large chakra reserves from Nine Tails.
And it goes on. Especially his new powerups that he got due to being destined to save the world. Despite him trying to disprove Neji about destiny when what he said was completely right.

Sasuke doesn't deserve to be with Sakura. I never really liked sakura as a character, but sasuke was a major dick to her. Honestly something must be wrong with sakura to just forgive him for everything that he had done to her friends and her village. Their "love" is shallow and fake.

I think sakura is shallow but also she wants to be with sauske to sorta show she is not?..its hard to explain cause shes so shallow but I think the point is she cursed herself to be with him cause of love...so she will suffer too...

Some more things wrong with Naruto:
    Part 1
-Rock Lee fit Naruto's underdog image better than Naruto himself. He didn't have a plot device sealed into him. Hell, he couldn't even use ninjutsu, outside of the gates.
-Neji and Choji surviving the Sasuke Recovery Mission was pure plot armor and pointless, because they did nothing for the rest of the series.
-Kakashi, the so-called "Man of a thousand jutsu", couldn't teach Naruto or Sakura anything outside of basic teamwork and chakra control. He taught Sasuke the Chidori, and that was about it. What a great teacher...
-Naruto screwed over the "Sasuke Recovery Mission", by choosing to scratch Sasuke's forehead protector, instead of knocking him out. Choji, Neji, Kiba and Shikamaru nearly died for nothing, because of Naruto. This is only made worse by the fact that the mission only took place because of Naruto.
-Rogue ninja are supposed to be executed, yet Tsunade risked the lives of children, and the spread of vital intel to have Sasuke captured. Why? Because Sasuke was a main character.
(Parts 1 & 2)-Naruto's fights mostly consisted of him spamming shadow clones, using the Rasengan, and/or getting saved by Kurama.
    Part 2
-Kishimoto retconned Naruto rebelling against his destiny, by making him the descendant of Ashura. This means Neji was right all along. Naruto was already destined to be great, so he didn't actually change anything.
-Pain was wasted potential. He was a badass villain, with an overpowered ability, yet was talked into committing suicide by some kid [Naruto] he didn't even know. Mind you, he had just committed genocide. How cringeworthy is that?
-Pain resurrected everyone he killed before dying, besides Jiraiya, killing off any tension in the series. Since then, it's been established that no more important characters would stay dead moving forward, outside of Chiyo.
-A bunch of Part 1's characters were actually interesting, yet were sidelined in favor of Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke in Part 2.
-The Akatsuki died to plot devices.
I find it nauseating how the story was written to support Naruto's ideals, instead of challenging them and making him adapt. He was supposed to be some kind of ninja Jesus, and that breaks my suspension of disbelief. The reason? Because no sane human being would go to the lengths Naruto did to reform someone. If Naruto wasn't written to be Sasuke's crazed stalker fanboy, he would've prioritized the safety of his village and friends, over his at the time nonexistent friendship with Sasuke, and rightfully so. The failure of the "Sasuke Recovery Mission" could've been the reality check to cause that development. Instead, he became completely obsessed with Sasuke, and almost died bringing him back. I get that it's Shonen, but having some kind of realism in character relationships and interactions can go a long way. Naruto's fixation on saving Sasuke stunted his character development throughout Part 2, in terms of his mentality. He was a 17 year old, with the same naivete and annoying demeanor as when he was 13 in Part 1.
This series feels like Kishimoto wanted to portray this dark and depressing world, but didn't wanna go all the way with it.
Don't get me wrong, Kishimoto did well, considering the horrific workload that he had to deal with. I think the story would've turned out much better, had it not been for Shounen Jump.

Best Naruto comment ever! More things wrong with Naruto
-In the Pain arc (which was the best arc in Naruto ever) Kakashi died by using the mangekyo sharingan too much and use up all his stamina in his fight with Pain. In the early arcs in Shippuden when he fought against Deidara with just one time use of Kamui he went into straight into the hospital lasting his injury for a few days. However, in the war arc he spammed his Kamui like his chakra never existed. To make things more absurd he got a perfect susano but don't you need to go through some stages before getting a susano? And we never recall that Obito has the susano.
      - Kabuto's explanation that there is no drawbacks or weaknesses of Edo Tensei but look what Madara did therefore there was a weakness.
      - One major thing wrong with the war arc is Madara and Obito's goal. First with Madara, i know he was forshadowed in the beginning in Shippuden so his goal must have already been planned but i can't help the fact that Madara just wanted to make peace by putting everyone in a genjutsu instead of ruling the world with his powers although he did made peace because of how powerful his name was that the whole 5 nations made an alliance. Now with Obito, even knowing how ugly and cruel the world is he was still very like Naruto because of Rin, the reason the whole war arc started was because his crush died even when he became an adult he was still salty about the past. Then he wants to make a whole world made out of not real genjutsu to see Rin that just made the mysterious mask man in Naruto that we want to know who that guy is less cool.
-i hate how Kishimoto revive Orochimaru but made him good, that is the most unecessary plot twist i've seen in anime.
Imagine Kishimoto has taken his time after the Pain arc like he go on a hiatus or something Naruto would've been done better.

More like in Favor of Naruto and Sasuke in part 2 .
Sakura was never as overpowered as they both were and it didn't revolve around her either. And Kakashi was the one who helped Naruto in Rasenshuriken and understanding the 5 nature types , tho honestly , his teaching skills should have been demonstrated better in part 1
Kaguya should have been left out as a topic for Boruto . The war should have ended with Madara . But well , they had to make the Heroes look better and more OP. And perhaps The Last movie would have been confusing if Kaguya wasn't involved earlier but even The Last made very little sense.

loved the original Naruto, everything stopped for me when shippuden began. its like the creativity the writer had in the original was gone for shippuden. music wasn't the same, fights were boring and drawn out, filler hell, Naruto's character was destroyed because of sasuke. Naruto was a goal driven guy who wouldn't stop at anything in order to complete his dream. in shippuden, Naruto's dreams don't matter because he can't save sasuke, a guy who's tried to kill his friends more than once, tried to destroy his home village, and later tried to take over the world and needed to kill Naruto in order to do it, yup this is the guy Naruto is trying to "save". which is stupid, sasuke never needed any saving, this was who he was, he had goals just like Naruto but since Naruto didn't agree with sasuke's goals he convinced himself that sasuke was just a victim, and he should be excused for everything he did as if he weren't in control of his own actions. this really killed Naruto's character for me, he was turned into a soft minded hopeless guy who couldn't focus until he got his friend back.
and the whole Naruto sasuke brotherhood never made sense to me. Naruto and sasuke did respect each other and they were comrades but best friends? since when? best friends usually hang out a lot and communicate a lot with one another. sasuke and Naruto hardly spoke to one another, they never bothered to meet up after missions and even during missions, social chat was kept to a minimum. Naruto and sasuke had similar backgrounds yes, but these guys were never close, this was just a poor lazy attempt for the writer to give Naruto a reason to rescue sasuke, which unfortunately was the main focal point for most of the show. if it wasn't about sasuke, it was about his stupid uchiha clan, and the stupid sharigan just kept getting more and more abilities as the show progressed. remember when it just wasn't about the sharingan? and there were other special blood line abilities? well that doesn't matter in shippuden because if you don't have an eye that summons meteors or giant chakra samurai's then who the hell cares what your blood line skill is.
im not lying when I say the only thing I liked about shippuden was sakura vs sasori and I don't even like sakura, but that fight was enjoyable, sakura had to use teamwork and different kinds of strategies to win the fight, kinda reminded me of the original show. unlike today's Naruto where whoever has the bigger explosion wins. even boruto is garbage, its just a restart of the original show with cloned versions of the original characters that represent their offsprings.

Yeah the sasori fight was dope. Wish they'd given more fights to characters like sakura and shikamaru bc they arent OP so they actually have to strategize and THINK instead of just unleashing the latest eye jutsu

    • @Jdudec367

Wdym? Shippuden was good too. The creativiity was still there. The music was just as good if not better. They weren't usually boring or drawn out. Anime only, and at least it had some good filler, most of part 1's filler isn't that good either, No it wasn't destroyed. Naruto's dream in Shippuden is still to become Hokage but like you say he is a goal driven guy, and his goal is to bring Sasuke back. Sasuke has only tried to kill Sakura and that was after she tried killign him. When did he actually make an attempt to destroy the home village? I mean Gaara helped destory the leaf village but people forgive him. And Gaara tried to kill everyone he saw but Naruto wanted to change him to good. It isn't stupid, seriously if Naruto can get through to people like Gaara then surely he can get through to Sasuke. Yes he clearly needed saving. Sasuke was a victim of the shinobi system, that's a fact. Naruto never said he should be excused for all that he did, but he shouldn't be executed, especially when they are willing to give Gaara another chance. Well it really didn't kill Naruto's character. He didn't turn into a soft minded hopeless guy who couldn't focus until he got his friend back, the truth is is that getting his friend back WAS his main goal.
Well it makes perfect sense to me. Since always arguably, even if they wouldn't admit it. They hang out quite often in some way and communicate often. They spoke to each other more then you think, and yes they did meet up after missions and during missions, even if Sasuke was sort of a loner. It wasn't kept to a minimum. They were clearly close. It isn't a poor lazy attempt for the writer to give Naruto a reason to rescue Sasuke, and Naruto rescuing Sasuke being a main focal point for most of the show wasn't a bad thing at all. The Uchiha clan isn't stupid and the Sharingan isn't stupid either. What do you mean? In Shippuden other blood line skills matter too. Heck it was the Nara clan's signature ability that allowed them to beat Hidan.
Well guess what? Shippuden had al lot of the best fights of Naruto, and it had strategic fights too. Shippuden had better villains, better fights, etc.

the first episode alone got me intrigued. naruto as a person, his backstory and connection with the mysterious fox and fourth hokage got me hooked, i wanted him to prove everyone how powerful he could really be. as far as im concerned, the pain arc was the final one because everything after that, was all about the uchiha/sage. i didn't care about pairings until the four tails incident, plus i wanted sakura to grow up as a person, didn't care who she ended up with as long as it wasn't sasuke. *sigh* hinata was a satellite character, selfish and useless, yet got everything she wanted from the politics behind the scenes because money and bias. pein/nagato was my favorite villain. no only was he unique but he was the first to get naruto into his lowest point. every villain after him seemed like a copy cat, despite them chronologically coming first.

I won’t lie to you I’m a HUGE NaruSaku shipper and normally I don’t even like romance in anime but for some reason I shipped this. Sakura WAS one of my favorite characters but I always deeply hated her attraction to Sasuke not because of Naruto but because it just ruined her character. By the end of the show I was so happy that she had developed so much by surpassing Tsunade, not becoming a useless teammate anymore, and eventually getting over her forehead in securities. Then I saw how they paired her with Sasuke and it immediately made me hate her. Again, not because she didn’t end up with Naruto but when she did get with Sasuke it completely took away all of her development. She became that insecure 12 year old fan girl that I honestly couldn’t stand at the beginning of Naruto part 1.
Then it further goes to show and after a certain point she just looked so dumb in her situation. She got knocked up and Sasuke became a deadbeat who never showed for 13 years! Sarada constantly calls her out on her bs when she defends Sasuke while she sits there all depressed because she has turned into a useless housewife with tons of financial issues and is completely submissive to Sasuke. She became a SIMP! Of course the money man Shittymoto is going do something to make Sasuke look like father of the year but no one is buying it.
Don’t get me started on Naruto and Sasuke’s characters! They both easily become two of my least favorites characters as the show got deeper, but unfortunately they still they hog all of the screen time.

7:58 well Sasuke did have a good point when he fought naruto. He stated that "the only reason the nations worked together was because there was a common enemy". But that was sort of thrown out the window when all of the other nations decided to have peace for the next 10-12 years. Granted, everyone shared naruto's feelings and memories when Ino used her technique across the entire army while powered by Naruto's chakra. I think this will change as new kage are eventually reinstated. The old kage will be too old (or dead) and their peaceful ideology they adapted from sharing Naruto's thoughts will be lost. The next generation will take these things for granted and act selfishly, eventually causing conflicts between nations again.

Naruto the charcter himself hooked me at the time I never really saw a charcter be so dedicated to his dream and it hooked me. Naruto was a great ride even tho it got ridiculous at the end I don't regret and I love it to death. It was worth the price of admition 10 years ago I saw this lil goofy kid say he wanted to be a Hokage. 10 years later he finally did it and it tugs my heart strings everytime I re watch/read the first episode and chapter then read the last chapter

Your editing is pretty boss man, great work! How did I get into Naruto? Way back in middle school when it was on toonami. It along with other animes were starting to surface and being a huge dragon ball fan at the time, I was always thirsty for some new battle shonen. My step brother at the time ended up picking up the first volume as well, so I basically grew up watching and reading it simultaneously. Despite other animes like Zach Bell and Rave Master coming out around that time, Naruto sadly was one of the only ones that stuck around so I guess I kind of clung to it. I really enjoyed part 1. Part 2 however... well...
When did it start to decline for me? Honestly it's hard for me to say. As previously stated, I enjoyed part 1 but even then there where things that I didn't like too. The Land of the Waves and The Chunin exams are easily my favorite arcs in the entire manga. After that I feel it started to decline a bit. Now by a large margin but enough for me to notice. Then when the Sasuke Retrieval arc came around. I was pretty much set on just enjoying the fights less than the story because that was my least favorite arc of part 1.
Part 2 (known as Shippuden in the anime) will come around shortly afterwards and get me hyped again. It was pretty neat seeing the rookies looking older. The Kazakage rescue arc reminded me a whole lot of the Sasuke Retrieval arc so I had my issues with it. However this time around we finally got to see more of the Akatsuki. I was hyped! I think part 2 was doing fine for what it was but sometime during the Hidan/ Kakuzu arc I felt a decline again. Only this time it bothered me more than back in part 1. For the longest I felt that not a single point in part 2 was on par with even the worst parts of part 1. However the Pain invasion arc was where things picked up again. I, at first, liked Pain as a villain because he seemed hellbent on his goal of destroying Konoha. I mean yeah there where some dull spots that I didn't like, like Hinata's stupid ass confession scene, Naruto hogging most of attention and Pain's turn around when Naruto talk-no-jutsu'd him in the end. Actually I probably didn't like the end of the Pain arc at all. Afterwards it fell back into the poor category and imo never recovered. The War arc is one of the worst things I've read in recent shonen with the only decent bit being Madara himself. Sadly even he was held back by... uggh... Obito... and then Kaguya appeared every fan reading up to that point simultaneously farted. The ending imo opinion was absolutely AWFUL!(imo) I didn't want some story book depiction of everyone middle aged with little kids. I wanted them to take that time to pick themselves up afterwards and finish with Naruto's reflection. (actually my ideal ending was he and Sasuke died in the end. He kept saying that this was how it was going to end between them and I honestly would have liked to see Naruto's exceptional-ism be pushed back some by the fact that he never became hokage. It would have back handed that child of prophecy garbage and would have probably been a motivator for some new ninja to take his lessons to heart and try to achieve greater, much like with Obito, Dan, Tsunade's brother and Jiraya, whom never got to reach their dream in the end)
When I heard there was going to be a continuation in the form of a movie I was confused and a little pessimistic. Looking at the new character designs, I didn't like most of them. However seeing them in action, I learned to live with them. Seeing the first couple of shots of the movie with Naruto looking ready to take on something big, Sasuke looking like a nomad and Sakura looking rather great in her new get up, my views softened up a bit. But then it happened. I found out it was going to be a Naruto/Hinata love story and I proceeded to release a long sigh. If I can talk about the pairings for a moment because this is apparently big. I noticed a lot of shit has happened in Naruto over pairings which apparently split people up. Personally I think it's stupid to get riled up over something so trivial. Naruto has enough problems with its writing no need to add more crap on top of the shit cake. Now that being said I never liked Naruto/Hinata. I was never convinced of their friendship and every moment Hinata was a panel it was either to remind us that her entire being was centered around Naruto or to repeat what we already knew about Naruto over and over (Oh you work so hard Naruto. Oh you give me strength.) And then the Naruto-kun's... just waterboard me and get it over with -_- It got annoying quick for me because she was a rather lifeless and uninteresting character imo. I was especially pissed off when her and Naruto got Neji killed. I'm a huge Neji fan (he's the only thing keeping me from even giving a shit about the Hyuuga) and to have him axed off by one of the shittest villains in the series, my dislike for Hinata and Naruto only grew. I mean at the very least have one of the other rookie 9 die too Kishi!! Don't get me wrong Naruto/Hinata fans. I know you're passionate about this shit but I don't like Naruto/Sakura either so you can reat knowing I'm not your antithesis or whatever. Really It's hopeless to think Sakura would just stop loving Sasuke because Kishi himself loves Sasuke. I only saw her as Kshi projecting. Of course I don't hate Sakura as much as the average Naruto fan (honestly I hate a lot of characters just as much if not more than Sakura) but I certainly don't like her either. Admittedly there was a point where I kind of thought Sakura was alright. In the early parts of part 2 she was actually pretty cool imo. She and Naruto actually had one of my favorite friendships at the time and their reactions to new comer Sai was very humorous. I mean yeah the anime still made her out to be an annoying dick who constantly punched Naruto (is that really a bad thing tho?) but in the manga I thought when Sasuke wasn't around, involved, or the subject of discussion, Sakura was fine for me. Really I can already see Naruto already had a crush on her, so if at some point during the beginning of part 2 Kishi decided to make her reciprocate those feelings I would have been just fine with that. But nope. She was annoying, she was constantly crying, I never felt she really progressed as either a fighter or a healer (she just sort of showed up with new moves) and to top it all off, she didn't feel like a character with self respect. I blame Kishi's bad writing because honestly I don't think he wrote that many decent female characters either. Or at the very least they felt like they had less of a presence in comparison to the male ones in the longer arc's. So yeah, you can dream on too Naruto/Sakura fans :P Okay now back on The Last. It bored me from beginning to end. I don't know who's genius idea it was to expand on the worst part of Naruto (i.e the Kaguya nonsense) but they did and it was absolutely forgettable to me. I hated the mood of the film, I hated the whole moon plan silliness (oi we don't know what the Akatsuki's up to down here on earth but we somehow know about these aliens) The villain was so transparent and boring that I've already forgotten his name. Hell rather than being an intimidating symbol he just sort of felt like a Disney rival who's trying to steal the girl away form the protagonist. I hated that I payed to see this in theaters with my friend at the time and can easily say it was one of my least favorite of the Naruto films -__-
I'm not going to bother with Boruto (or however you spell it) because I just don't want to be tortured with anymore Naruto stuff. I'll remember the stuff I enjoyed in part 1 and the little bit in part 2. The rest can be meticulously scooped from the brain. If you somehow got through this lazily written post, kudos!

Ya know what, I didn't think I would, but I read the whole post. And I can tell, it came from the heart. The way your interest and thoughts on the series just slowly changed over time. For the most part, I felt the exact same way but didn't include into the vid. I wanted the rant to be no more than 10 mins. (And I even failed that).
Thank you for the kind words and for sharing your thoughts and I hope that most people can understand that despite all of the criticisms you and I may have, Naruto will forever be in our hearts (I cringed just from typing that last bit.)

RikXtreme4 Thanks man I really appreciate that. Most of the Naruto fans I've encountered are pretty harsh to people who criticize it. Also looking back at my own post I see so many errors, it's enough to make me vomit. I guess that's what I get for getting on youtube after a late shift lol. I'm glad you noted that I'm not just hating to hate. I once loved Naruto a lot. I'm sure if I could go back in time and tell 13 year old me that my views on it will make a 180, I probably wouldn't believe myself. But alas it is what it is. You're open minded and I respect that. And don't feel to embarrassed. Naruto will always have a special place in my heart as well.
Who knows. I might just go back and re-read part 1 all over again after this.

Naruto being Hokage was the biggest let down in the entire show.
    Hear me out:
Naruto wanted to be Hokage because he wanted everyone's respect, but after the Pain Arc when he's being praised for protecting the village... he earns their respect. Making him Hokage is fucking idiotic.

Lazarius Hiughes No, I'm not. In the very first episode he says he wants to become hokage because he wants the villagers to respect him. This was at a time where the entire village shunned him. This was completely flipped in the Pain arc, therefore killing any reason for Naruto to become hokage.

The Hinata and Naruto ending up together was pretty fucking dumb not as dumb as Sasuke and Sakura but Naruto showed more interest in Sasuke then Hinata for YEARS. He showed NO attraction as a kid, and no attraction during his teen years (aside from the bullshit crap they tried to push in the end like that crappy movie).

  • @FlameSkull95
    @FlameSkull95 5 лет назад +1

Naruto was indeed what really hooked me into anime, having such a glorious hook and an unique approach to characterization, action and plot, and i was just infatuated with it day in and day out, up until the series started to chew up more than it could swallow after the time skip, it was still intriguing to know the true nature of the Akatsuki as well as Naruto's conflict with Sasuke unravel itself, but unfortunately the series from then on started to pad itself a lot, by starting to raise the stakes as a cop out, introducing characters that would only bog down the pacing of the story and screen time of ones that were supposed to matter in the first place, a huge lack of world building and it's reliance on heavy plot armor leading to severe plot holes, but what really takes the cake and eats it for me is how much of a despicable character Haruno Sakura is, and i could write an essay of Kishimoto's wrong doings with her, but all i will say is that she's possibly the embodiment of what was wrong with the series, and the author just turned what was a mere eyesore at first into a huge boogieman.
With all that said though, i still remember both reading and watching those last moments of the series and just having butterflies in my stomach, because despite all of it's issues, Uzumaki Naruto was a character that grew alongside me after all of these years, and i couldn't be more thankful for it.

You and me share the same opinion about Naruto. One additional thing being that I did not like Naruto Gaining Power From Tailed Beast to begin with. The Journey from nobody to the top requires a plot Armour is not the moral I want to learn. Starting with nothing and being the best by hard work and training is the one thing that I would actually like. DB and yu yu hakusho gets a pass because 1. Dragon Ball started as a gag manga and the story continued and the saiyan thing was introduced later and Upto Freiza and Android Saga All characters could become strong... that's why I don't like Buu saga in Dragon Ball as it became saiyan centric. Yu Yu hakusho Demon thing was given at the end of 3rd arc and it was just to legitimize yuske's participation in the demon tournament.

How did I get into Naruto?
Toonami I mainly watched Cartoon Network and they introduced Naruto and I was like that looks pretty cool to watch.
What particular moment made me hooked to the show?
Well it wasn't a moment it was mainly Naruto himself he was all like "I won't give up" or "Believe It!" and" I never give up cause that's my nindo my Ninja way " and I was like: I want to be a ninja!😆 also Sakura's my favorite Ninja so as long as she was alive I'd keep on watching
How do I feel about the series in general?
In part1 they're kids that's was the Best Ever! Part2 they're Teens still cool. I enjoyed it as a whole although some parts didn't make sense and left me hanging.
What do you think about the final chapter?
I'm happy Sasuke finally Accepted his friendship with Naruto and also became apart of the leaf village again and finally Accepted his feelings for Sakura.

  • @retrohanska4441
    @retrohanska4441 7 лет назад +8

For me, too, the part when I started liking the show was battle with Zabusa, and more importantly the moment when Naruto brings him in tears after death of Haku. I wasn't used to seeing anything too emotional in cartoons so far, especially from bad guys, so that absolutely blew my mind. That arc also showed so much about the shinobi world: political powers, people without chakra and ninja training, consequences of ninja wars, bloodlines and how they are treated and also shitton on ninjutsu. Naruto and Sasuke also bonded first time and that's the direction I was hoping to continue. It was also first time series went darker and deeper. Future look very promising.
So what went wrong? I cannot actually say for sure, but perhaps it was the overused dark tone. Now that I think about it, I most likely became numb to it. When Asuma died, I was like "no fucking way, there has to be something that they can do! it just cannot be true!" and I fucking cried. But after that I witnessed destruction of whole village and people within it and at that point death lost its meaning. Also every character having long dark flashbacks get very tedious after hundred of those. I know it's tempting to add that bit of extra drama with tear-jerking past, but human brains just work so that repeated shit becomes boring shit, no matter how awesome it used to be. There are so many other and usually better and shorter ways to tell about character's past, but they require thinking, from both writer and reader.
That's actually the second problem: the constant pampering of the reader. I know Naruto is targeted for early teenagers so it's not surprising, but it just annoys me so much. Every single thing has to be explained thousand times over and every sad moment has to be smeared on reader's face. Normal human being can see those emotions even without that and some subtlety actually makes the experience much more rewarding. You get the feeling you actually understood something deep by yourself and thus you are instantly more invested into seeing more. Naruto failed in that even more badly as years passed. Every bit of emotion was forced on reader and in the end they still abandoned all that and moved things into so large scale that I didn't have any time to feel sympathy towards anyone. That's the third issue I have: when single person dies, it's sad, but when hundred people die, it's number, a loss. For a series that focused on emotions and growth of individuals, it was the worst move to create war that takes away all that individuality from people.
I actually had never even though about this, but now when I saw this video, I started realizing why I barely could read the final chapters as manga and will never watch them as anime. The series completely alienated me from the aspects I used to like in it and turned into something totally different. It's sad because now it's just another series to shit on, not something that you could take as example of great series like we all used to.

Land of waves is what definitely got me into naruto. The beginning arc is really good and I was so hooked that I didn’t even know what was going to happen at the end. But that ending was great. It also made naruto become a hero. The world building in that arc too. To find out about different nations. I didn’t even grow up with naruto but part 1 does definitely have the nostalgic feeling for early 2000s. The music, the fights, and overall the way the show feels. Naruto is a great anime and show even though the war brought it down. But naruto and sasuke fight was a great ending or close ending for the show.

Well anyway I first watched Naruto on Toonami and in 2005 just like you, I wasn't really hooked until Zabuza showed up though, this was the calmest rant I've ever seen lol, but you hit the nail right on the head, the series was amazing until the Pain arc, the Pain arc was arguably the best arc in the series and that's where it
should have ended, when it was at it's peak, after that the series began to slowly decline until it became subpar and unrecognizable from what it originally was, the war was outright ridiculous, and now they're gonna keep milking that cow even though the cow is dead.

I just got into Naruto last year after seeing how awful anime has been for years. I wanted to see something good and so I watched the original Naruto. Many recommented me to not bother with Shippuden, but after hearing opposing opinion, I checked it out which ruined my entire experience. Yeah, the first arc was good especially in the anime when you skip all the awful filler, but everything else is overshadowed by terrible writing.
Not that I hate Pain, but there were a lot of questionable things like power scaling and every arc ending in a happy ending. This is why I love the Zabuza arc and Sakuke retrival arc. Yeah, you can have arcs with a happy ending and a closure, but you can't have no consequences in every arc. Yeah, Jiraiya died, but in the same arc almost everyone else returned to life.
No way I am going to watch Boruto tho. I did catch up on all the movies, and I feel only the Naruto pre-time skip ones are good. Every other what I recall is pretty bad minus the one where Naruto is sent to prison.

i can aknowledged the final arc could have been better but even through that naruto as a series is legendary and has some of the best moments in any show lol and also the fight with kaguya and naruto vs sasuke should be done way better in the anime so as it stands i think you should wait until that gets animated to give a full critique of the anime
PS. The Boruto movie as it stands is being called kishimoto best work so far so i woulden't be so sure if they continued with a Boruto Anime that it would be the next GT just Saiyan.

Regarding the boruto movie, judging from the trailers I've seen, it looks pretty good. At least way better than "The Last".

A huge problem for me with the ending. Is that when they made everyone choose like a lover and shit you never saw any character build up. The only two feasible characters to have any relationship in both naruto and naruto shippuden was naruto and sakura. Mainly due to a relationship build up. Also did no-one else understand that naruto liked sakura and his feelings grew with Jirayia and when he got back in Shippuden. Thats a major problem with me is just no character build up for the ending at all. Which really ruined Naruto for me.

It's no Dragon Ball Z but, it's a pretty good anime series. The 1st half of Naruto anime was awful to me while the 2nd half of Naruto anime was really good. I liked the entire Naruto Shippuden anime when I watched it from beginning to end and I still rank it as my third favorite anime series. The Last Naruto Movie had Naruto realized his hidden love for Hinata. Naruto figured out while in a genjutsu spell. He then confessed his love to Hinata and they kissed after the final battle. I honestly think that Naruto & Hinata should've became a couple after The Pain Arc and they could've done it the same way as they did in The Last Naruto Movie, only they would've been three years younger & Neji would still be alive. The Last Naruto Movie is the only canonical Naruto movie. This is also the only time we see Naruto as a Jonnin. Boruto : Naruto Next Generations has the same mixed feelings for me as Naruto anime from 2005. I feel like when they get to a certain point, I would like it. I just hope this is the part in the Naruto universe and hopefully, we won't get Boruto Shippuden.

Naruto Sucked simply because it's teaching was that anyone could do it
That later became an issue when it was revealed the village banished Clifford The Big Red Dog into the stomach of an infant giving that infant God Ki-I mean basically a funny way of saying Magic.
Then it's revealed Yahweh had some children who went all Jedi Vs Sith on each other but don't worry that only means Naruto is basically a God which gives unlimited use of the unexplained magical bullshit.
You see-That's the issue for the underdog Naruto is literally godlike.

Im Not simply saying this because of my personal conflicting feelings with Naruto but they kinda don't know how to insert theirs. Everyone clowns Bleach because of their Plot Twist but at least they make sense and help progress its ever expanding Story.

Not saying that anyone else should not watch it but I’ more in to si-fi and mutant ninja turtles is a great concept and I am really getting tired of the whole elemental ninja and powering up ninja stuff.

8:01 Speak the Truth Brotha. But Seriously the Only people who doesn't get the Memo is Room Temperature I.Q Madara fans Who Actually believe Naruto is Some type of Deep Philosophical Anime with a True Message where in reality its just another Action Packed Shounen like Anything else. And thinks Being preachy makes its a good story Knowing Damn well its Super Pretentious and tries to be something its Not. If you really think Naruto "Means Stuff" then you came to the Wrong Anime. Their "Message" Keeps getting push over with its Complicated Writing that doesn't really impact on The "Message". Im Not even a Pro Writer. Starving Writer at best, and i know that basic Writing Fundamental,That if you want to get a Message across you have to make it Vibrant enough for one to understand and not completely blotch it with absurd Plot Twist and Contraindications (When it comes to Narrative flow that is.) And for what I've seen i don't buy It being this Psychological Anime That Everyone Makes it out to be. Here's a Tip for any Starving Writer Who's Reading this, Only assert Psychological "ASPECTS" in your Action-Packed Animes when it comes to character Exposition,Growth,Event, etc. (Because if Fictional Characters attitudes are based on real people then it would make sense if they go through real Trials and Struggles. Examples: Bleach,Yu Yu Hakusho,Black Lagoon,MHA and although how Minuscule BBZ ) If you try to push a Message In a piece of Work Where it's overall genre is anything but then your story will come of both Pretentious and Non-directional. That's Just my piece. And i Know im going to get alot of Flack for This but i Evaluate what i see.
P.S Once I heard About Madara's Big Scheme I was Fairly disappointed It Sounded like some Golden Age Comic Book Villian Shit. I don't technically dislike him i just thought their be More this Seemingly "Complex" and "Larger then Life" Mastermind.

0:51 to 0:52......what the hell, sounded like Michael Jackson!!!! beileve me, I've heard his high pitched voice like a million times
anyway, i first only knew Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura/Kakashi......i saw the first and i was fucking hooked BIG TIME and my all time two characters are Shikamaru and Hinata. i like the characters that i feel like should have gotten screen time and more development like Tenten, Choji, Ino, Shino, etc......now it's pretty much lazy writing with the movies and Naruto getting a bratty son. i wanted a new generation show but NOT like this. not that i hate the new generation because I don't. i like Shikadai, Himawari, Cho Cho, and everyone that isn't Boruto and Inojin. Boruto needs to be done better BIG TIME and jesus christ Inojin design is UGLY. not only that but the pairings are a bit screwed up:
NaruHina I saw coming but it's so freaking LATE. ShikaTema i love, SasuSaku makes no sense, SaiIno i dont care about, Choji and Cloud chick makes no sense to me and I'm still wondering when it happened
