Had a piece of wood get under one of my shrouds and apparently rubbed and broke my belt. Your video had me up and going QUICK. Bought my belt off amazon for $19 and so far so good. Nice tips like the 8mm. Had all the tools I needed when I hit the floor!
The belt is tensioned by the big spring, so it is self adjusting. As long as your spring is not completely worn out and loose then you should be good. If you keep going through belts then I would look into some of the idler pulleys. You can try to spin all of the pulleys with the belt completely off and if it doesn't spin freely then that cpuld be your culprit. Also, check the top of the deck to make sure you don't have any debris or sticks that might damage the belt. I hope this helps, and let me know what you find out.
Were you just changing the belt for routine maintenance or did it sling off and you are trying to put it back on? There could be numerous reasons why it would do that. Not enough tension on the tensioner to where it wobbles off. Make sure it is centered on the pulleys where it comes in contact with the backside of the v belt. You could also have a bent pulley causing it to sling off. Hope this helps.
@@amandaramirez5880 Do you smell burning rubber or anything, like maybe a bearing has seized up? See if all of the bearings will spin freely. If they are getting shredded then maybe somewhere you have a stick or some other obstruction hitting the belt. How is the spring for the tensioner, is it too tight or too loose?
It does smell burning when it breaks off, tension belt is kinda tight, in the front deck we checked there’s nothing no stuck back as well when we put the belt towards the end (I forgot what it’s called) we don’t see nothing what what part do you think my be obstructing causing it to break?
@@amandaramirez5880 if you are smelling the belt burn then I would think that maybe you have a pulley (bearing) that is seized up or not moving freely. Have you looked under the deck yet? I have seen people run over rope and the blades will wind it up on the shaft and restrict the bearing, thus burning through the belt.
I would. I haven't had any issues at all with mine. I have used it for 3 years now and I only had to replace the belt because a branch chewed it up. It seems to be a great investment so far.

I have replaced many of these belts, the spring hack was the best way to do it. Thanks
Dude.....turn your phone 90 degrees when you make a video.
Thanks that’s a lot easier then taking the deck off like I’ve been doing
this is mower deck drive belt is under engine
Thank you for the correction I will adjust the title
Thanks for sharing. Putting in back/drive pulley first and working the tensioner were very helpful
Worked like a charm. Thanks so much for the clear instructions and trick with the screwdriver!

My belt had a trapezoid shape; what end goes on down on the drive pulley?
What belt size does this mower use? Cant find it on the manual.
It is 141.1 in long. I bought mine at Home Depot
@@belalsafi573 thank you!
245944 is home depot's sku number if that helps

How tight should belt be? All my pulleys look good but I keep breaking belts

En cause des deux poulies de renvoies car elles sont en deux parties qui font un devers qui détruisent progressivement la courroie
Not the drive belt
Thank you for the correction I will adjust the title.
I would love to see you do that repair also it would be helpful for sure
My belt keeps breaking off and I’ve done everything here to the point what could be the cause?

I was in the rovers of mowing when the belt broke off I’ve replaced to belts and it won’t last maybe 10 mins and they break off
