    I've watched a lot of reviews on a ton of different products and I'd just like to say that this video is one of the best I've seen. You left no questions unanswered in my opinion. Well done!

    This kayak looks perfect to be able to have my dog come along with me! He should fit comfortably in the back I'd think.

    Hey there, love your review of the H12 , I was interested for awhile now, I have the FS12 and I got it because at the time it was one of the biggest fishing type kayaks out there, I like a sit in kayak as apposed to sit on, just feels safer, also like the cargo capacity for camping, and of course the tunnel hull design for stability, that being said, the H12 is more of all I like, not looking to win any races, and kinda like the "barge" feel, lol, my primary usage is load it down for island camping, so thanks for the review so keep up the vids, we're watchin, yak on.

    I've been interested in the H12 since it came out and I've finally convinced myself I need it. I live on the Coal River in WV and my Emotion Wasatch canoe (kind of a hybrid) has served me well, but a year of hard use and multi-day camping trips on the Elk is starting to take it's toll on the cheaper plastic. Time for an upgrade.

    I plan a review in the next weeks. I just picked up the H12 and find it "interesting". NO PADDLE HOLDER! What's with that? NO measuring tape to check fish size... what? This thing is heavy at 76lb, and harder than I'm use to to get it going. It's not a fast kayak by any means.stability is decent but not sure I'd stand in it - but you have seen many that, for some reason, want to stand in it. Turning is not easy, but OK. I am still setting mine up and have some decent ideas I think. I come from the Aquaglide Blackfoot, see youtube video, and inflatable hard bottom, fishing kayak, 12' long, but only weighs 37lb as I recall. I have had no issues with my paddle length, but clearly some have. Just another opinion. Oh, I'm 6'2" and 245lb, so this kayak fits me nice.

    Can you please show me your truck extender setup for your truck? I also have a short bed truck (Tacoma 5’ bed) and I’m looking at my options. Thank you and great video. Joe

      Hey Joe, I wished I could, but it just so happens that my family is moving to another state. In preparations we have sold all the kayaks and even my truck! If that weren't the case, I'd be glad to help you out with that setup. Take it easy Joe!

    This kayak looks more like a canoe! If the water splash gets in the floor, will it drains out or you have to scoop them out?

    Can you move faster in the H10 than the H12?

    • @yakkelberry214
      @yakkelberry214  6 лет назад +1

      Michael Woodroffe Im assuming you meant the D10? If so, the D10 definitely moves faster. The H12 is the slowest yak that Ascend makes.

    Could I use the h12 in the ocean? Paddle around balboa jetty & channel could she take it?

    • @yakkelberry214
      @yakkelberry214  5 лет назад +1

      Logan Thompson well if there isnt a bunch of water you could be alright. The H12 would be one of the last types of kayaks i would be willing to take on ocean area of large bodies of water because it is slow and doesnt perform well when getting pushed around. However i am sure someone out there has donr it and been just fine. Remember this thing has no floatation so when she fills up she fills ALL the way up :)

    • @loganthompson4095

      That's what I was afraid of . I'm looking for a first kayak for ocean & all round conditions if that's possible.lol.was all so looking at the h10 same issue do you think not sea worthy ? Maybe stick to my first choice was homie compass paddle drive nice but price was an issue . Thanks for a fast response bro. Tight lines.

    I’m look at the ascend h12 and the pelican catch 120, first time kayaker. Any advice or pros that could help me decide.

    • @yakkelberry214
      @yakkelberry214  6 лет назад

      Shane Mckinney yes, ascend is a much better built boat, the plastic is thicker and stronger. I would suggest not even considering the pican. Those two are far different in quality. :)

    I was wondering what size paddle do you use with your h12?

    • @yakkelberry214
      @yakkelberry214  7 лет назад

      Definitely shoot for a 250cm to a 260cm. The fact that the sidewalls are flat on top forces a person to paddle a bit wider, meaning a longer paddle is gonna give you less trouble. I believe the one I used was a 240cm, and it worked, but longer will be better! Take it easy!

    Does this float if cap size?

    • @yakkelberry214
      @yakkelberry214  3 года назад

      I have to admit, I never capsized it. I don't know. I don't have the H12 anymore, I have the H10 and it has foam in the front and back that would keep it from sinking. They may be doing that with the H12's now.
